I always felt like I had more control with the keyboard. Also, why don't I ever see people remove the apache cockpit? It was a simple keystroke, like F9 or F11 or something and instead of all of those black lines you have a clear view of everything.
@T1313rock Yea, I was always surprised by the number of people using just the keyboard or even a keyboard & mouse to control the helis; that seemed so counter-intuitive. I used a flightstick that could be twisted for rudder control and had a separate throttle/collective control.
@ScottAIIyn Well as soon as i get my good computer up and running again we will play some dc if you still have it. too bad no one plays it much anymore
@ScottAIIyn I play on a Saitek Cyborg EVO and I can tell you, I am slightly better with the KB/mouse combo, this setup is MUCH better with helis than with planes, now flying a plane without a stick is harder IMO but helis no problem. BTW I still haven't found nicer helicopters in any other game so far, it's the main reason why I still play this.
The physics of the game "Desert Combat" to fly helicopters were primitive, but gradually I mastered the technique of flying ... I played a lot this game to launch BF2 ... The physical change in BF2 ... the helicopter is still in the air alone ... (excuse my English (translated by Google)) ((Hi from Brazil))
I can honestly say... I've mastered the Apache with mouse and keyboard :). Too bad no one plays BF 42' anymore lol.

You should use a flight stick
