At least for my area, it would not be practical. $30 for the bag, $130 for the pickup. If it was around $50 for the pickup, then it would be worth it. And, if you go to the website, you are only allowed to put household debris and construction debris in there. You can't even put yard waste in it, so it only works for those who are remodeling their home. In my area, I can rent a dumpster for $200 which will hold far more than the bagster and it's a free pickup service.
@kangarc Some Cities don't offer bulk waste collection to schedule for a set amount. I know mine doesn't and we have to pay per bag of trash put out for weekly pick up which is limited to what can be thrown out. So this would be a great idea and cost effective for a project not needing a large dumpster.
My neighbor used these folks and I just watched them pick up the load and talked with the driver. Really nice guy, real competent with the crane. He said the bags can hold up to 3300 pounds. (I asked him if I could put the crap car I bought off eBay in it, but he declined.) Very cool idea, I thought, and the price seems very reasonable to me.
Yeah... I'd agree with Diesel on that one... very VERY cool idea. Buy the bag, no cost per day until you fill it up. I'm not sure about this, but it looks like it wouldn't hold water so if you had a project started and it rained, it wouldn't fill up on you. I've talked to people who rented a big dumpster and then the weather put their project to a standstill for a few days, they had to pay for the days of dumpster rental even though they couldn't use it. I wish it was available in my area!
We just used one Bagster bag and it was only $100 for the bag and the pickup. The customer service peson said that there were never any overage fees! pretty simple and easy.
Did anyone notice that it will take 6 or 7 bagsters to equal one 40 yard dumpster (typically 400). 6 or 7 bagsters is $30X6=$180 + 6 seperate pickups @ $100 each= $600. Total is $780 to move same as a 40yd dumpster. Not to mention overage fees. Good idea though if you only need one load, after that Id just get a dumpster
I can't fit a 40 yard dumpster in my car, but I can easily fit 10 Bagster Bags. I can also use them anytime I want, but I would have to rent the dumpster per day or week.

I don't see how this is a bad idea. Not everyone needs a 40 yard dumpster, this markets to those people.

Total ripoff.
Bagster: $30 bag + $130 pickup = $160
City bulk waste collection for same amount: No charge if at scheduled times, or $50 for housecall.
