  • Hi all,

to answer the questions, the dancer is Nieto Mercedes, one of the most popular dancers in Hungary, personally she is the most talented dancer I have ever seen, that is why I chose her as my teacher 4 yrs ago.

The music is Oum Kalthoum: Huwwa Sahih.

Mercedes is brilliant in both coreographies and improvisation also so it can be either but this case I do not know.

She is indeed breathtakingly amazing :)

  • Very nice!!! Someone could tell me the title of the song? Thanks!!!

  • Oum Kalthoum: Huwwa Sahih

    :)

  • OM KALTHOUM

    Howa Sahih al haya ghlab

Titel : Is it true that love is irresistable.

    Year : 1960

    Music : Zakariya Ahmad

    Lyrics: Bayram al-Tunsi

  • Beautiful!!!

I'm curious about the song too- I've heard it before! Does anyone know what it is/who it is by? Is this an Oum Kalthoum song?

  • This song is Huwa Saghir (Om kalthoum). You can find this in a Cd called Arabesque Dance Company (Canadian Group). And, By the way, Mercedez, I like your control and precise interpretation. It´s a very difficult song, but impressively beautiful. Tks for posting.

  • I could recognize this recording anywhere! It's called "Huwaa sahih" and was originally sung by the amazing Oum kalthoum. This version is by Arabesque Dance Company in Toronto. You should check out their clips to see their dancing and their orchestra!!
