  • @sanju079 hello sanju sis could u plzz provide the links for each individual parts...only 2 and 6 are here...

    thnx...

  • Good movie

  • what means tk?

  • Yesma oscar ma nominate vako vanera kunai proud garnu parne kura chaina. At least nepali director le nai direct garera nominate vako vane pani euta kura

  • Where is Part 1? Am I missing the first part?

  • Saying these ppl refugees or tibetan is like saying Pahadi to all the people living in hilly areas of nepal and India..... The languages of Mangolian origin ppl are developed from Sio-tibetan-Burman languages which include Newari too...the language of this film can be understood by ppl who speak thakali or gurung of Jomsom...as achhami, darchuli, jumleli or baitadan speaking ppl can understand kumaoni or garhwali.....

  • oh i see mate thanx for info.

  • The film is not about tibetan refugees...the language they speakis spoken in midwestern nepal......in upper dopla or upallo dolpo..and it is similar with tibetan

  • @MrAlok2011 .....true my fren...it's sad to learn that our own ppl know so little about our own country.

  • these time movie use to have high quality and good screenplay then now

  • @santabir oh thanx 4 d info.

  • Can i know is this a nepali movie or what i dont understand a language and which language are they talking.

  • @Suckto1 thats tibetan language,,this is nepali movie but this are about the tibetan refugee who lives in our country,,,

  • @santabir ....Wat a genius...it realy bugs me wen our very own nepalese ppl know so little about our own country n calls our own ppl refugees...These ppl have been in living in dolpa n other himalayan region of nepal since thousands of years n u call them refugee is an example of how uneducated our ppl. They speak dolpo language for ur information.Hope u know that Nepal has 126 official languages n there r more than 40 different ethnic groups living in the country!!!

  • @mrlovedromeo0123 sorry but u might not knw about tibetans,, tibet is occupied by china so they are living as refugee in many countries,,largest being in india n 2 in nepal, most tibetans live in bouddha KTM and remaining lives in manang, mustang,n other himalayanregion, escaping from china.as i studied with tibetan people n i have few frns i understand their lnguage but cant speak,n its bit similar to my gurung language but only few words as both r frm same langug group tibeto-burma.hop u got it.

  • @santabir My fren there is a difference between tibetan n these ppl just like there is a difference between tharu, dhimal or madhesi ppl of terai n indians though they have some similarities. Also most of the tribes in himalayas speak highly tibetan influenced language but that does not mean they r tibetan. Well, we speak a language derived from sanskrit but does that mean we r indians? These dolpali ppl has been living in nepal for thousands of years which means they r nepalese.

  • @mrlovedromeo0123 ok i agree that most himalayan region speaks like tibetan language being from same language group, but its fact that tibetan people do leaves in nepals himalayan region, i just guessed it might be tibetan refugee people in Nepal.if u go to himalaya film wikipedia click on the links of starring cast and see their biodata ,,tsering and lhakpa are born in tibet, nlhakpa is tibetan actress from india. But i do agree the film is about dolpo people of nepal as i went through wikipedia,,

  • @santabir ....yeah i understand that it's hard to distinguish wen we currently have many Tibetan refugees living in Nepal, we can mistake them for other Nepalese clans due to the proximity of their language. I also know that the cast of the movie includes few outsiders but the main cast 'tin le' is from nepal n so r many others.

  • @Suckto1 ....My fren, this movie is not about the tibetan refugees like santabir stated. this movie is based on the true day to day life story in a part of nepal called dolpa n these ppl has been living there since thousands of years n r not tibetan, they r nepalese. They speak their own language as nepal has 126 official languages...it's ike newar, rai.gurung ppl speaking in their own languages.

  • Please upload all parts of this movie. Do not keep incomplete.

    Thank you.

  • its one of the outstanding moviee of eric valli...well the next project of eric i.e the honey hunter was not up to the expectation.....although it was good...but caravan was masterpiece............we are expecting new project from you in near future...

  • The Karma Amdo dialect and the woman speaks exile Tibetan dialect. The old Thinley with Thopa dialect.

    This is typical Tibetan film.

  • and lack of respect for their well being. for heaven sake please 1st educate the mass and then give them the option.

    peace

  • practice their callous tactics of retaining powerr by influencing the uneducated and promising them the sky. what more can i say about a country that tax its people for higher education when knowledge is light. its a pity my beautiful country is going to the dumps where power has blinded every political leader to pursue self interest. lets hope for peace and end this madness before we lose more resourceful youth who go abroad to find better opportunities due to our disregard

  • and rolpa but its not just the limbu rai or the kirat background that have been discriminated against, u should see the chhetri and thakuri poters in this region they are eually marginalized. i guess the whole political stir in the country to encourage ethinic violence by seggregating castes and creed in wrong. we are nepalese and love our country 1st regardless of the caste. history is evidence that the only way forward is unity in diversity and less power to all these political power houses to

  • let me 1st congratulate eric for so much authenticity in the movie making it so beautiful. i couldn't help but write something having read a few comments. It is a fact that few indigenous people have been marginalized in nepal but i guess its more to do with the region than the people or what group they belong to. its pure neglect that the remote places have been overlooked when it comes to opportunity. also i don't know if half the people have had the chance to visit the remoteness of dolpa.

  • nepal is a beautiful land. i love nepal

  • What about the first part of the movie ?

  • i juss dont know what the hell is karma79 talking abt...this must b the person who has no bloody clue abt my country.. its not bahun n chettris who form Nepal. Forget about the language in the movie. There are 93 language and 79 scripts in this small stretch of land. Further we have 14 ethnic groups who share the land. Please do some homework b4 writing anything stupid which is totally baseless.

  • Ethnically alll are tibetan but politically they are nepal as area is under nepalese rule.

  • You don't need a country to make movie.

  • @Bhodyul True. Thanks to Nepal for welcoming the Director to shoot this movie in that region. Not sure this wonderful story would have been made into movie if it had to be filmed inside Chinese border.

  • Do you know the leading lady and the guy Karma. Both are Tibetan with other actors beside dolpos. I am not saying dolpos are Nepali. they are Nepali but they are closer to Tibetan in every way. For eg: Language, dialect, culture, religion and way of living. There is huge discrimination in Nepali if you are not from the major caste.

  • Dor Bahadur Bista wrote that the Kirat descendants include all Indo-Mongolian people speaking various Tibeto-Burmese dialects as their mother tongue, the principal of which are the Rai, Limbu, Yakkha, Sunuwar, Jirel, Hayu, Gurung, Magar, Thakali, Thami and Chepang in the hills, and the Tharu, Danuwar, Bote Majhi, Dhimal, Meche, Koche in the plains. He also cited that the earliest Newar of Kathmandu are also thought to belong to this group.(Fatalism and Development, 1991)

  • You can read this and more discrimination against the indigenous Indo-Mongoloid people in Nepal in article

"Nepal: Forms and Origins of Discrimination" By Krishna B. Bhattachan

It just came out last year.

  • @karma79 discrimination is huge in Nepal . its just not discussed in public. true.

  • Nepal bhaneko Char Jat Chattis Barna ko Saanjha Fulbari ho!! This is the hardcore truth we have grown up with!! And it really sounds childish when people suddenly become possessive of their country they live when a minority becomes a part of a success story!! Why don't they realise that it is the country they should entertain and not their individual caste, ethnicity and religion!! God i wanna see my country develop!!

  • agreed.

  • Nepali says this is nepali movie, but this is actually more Tibetan. All the characters players are dolpo and tibetans. Not a single Pure nepali...like Bawon and Shetri...are there

  • do u have any idea 16% of nepalese territory is mountains where all there people live they speak tibetians but dat doesnt mean they are tibetian...

  • Mr. I know very well about Nepal's mountain region people and i lived myself in mid west Nepal in Dhorpatan. Officially yes, this is french movie, but Nepali claims thats their movie which is not. I also know like Dholpo, many mountain tribe nepalese are having nepali citizen, but their way of life and culture is not even close to Nepali major or mainstreams. They are 99% close to Tibetan. I know Dholpo people, they treat themselves more into Tibetan.

  • so the origin is tibet that doesnt mean they are tibetian if so then literally tibetian are all about LORD BUDDHA n he was a hindu n born in NEPLESE terrritory so all tibetians is nepalese??coz buddha's origin is nepal...

  • C'mon Karma79, Many people in Birganj have same festivals and language similar to India's Bihar &UP, even surname too that dosn't Means they are Indians. Nepal is small country with diverse language and mix culture, not only bauns and chetri. Caravan ofcourse it is a french movie but shot in Nepal with Nepalese characters. Tibetians are living in Tibet's teritory.

  • The area belong to Tibet but lost to Nepal hundreds of years ago.

I can understand not only the meaning of each and every word but I can spot three different Tibetan dialects.

The one spoken by little boy, oldman is Western Tibetan, while lead hero is dialect spoken eastern Tibet and heroine dialects is form central Tibet.

  • abny ways the sky burial is interestine, I as born in sri lanka, and when people die we have an awsome loud drumming and some high pitched flute playing. "Mala Berey"

  • It is a misunderstanding of most people that people living close to tibet and having similar culture to tibetans are actually tibetans. These are people, who for generations, have lived in Nepal and hence are as nepalese as any other ethnicity. If you go by your logic almost everyone follows a culture that was adapted from a more ancient and larger culture, mostly from india and tibet. It is sad and unfortunate that due to the remoteness of these region these people tend to be forgotten.

  • That is because area was lost by Tibetan to expansion Rana regime hundred years ago.

  • That is correct. Most people who live in the mountain and along the Tibet boarder, they are all Tibetan blood, but politically they are Nepal. A few examples, sherpa, dolpa, lapchawa, and nuprawa.

  • @karma79

what do you mean by "pure nepali". there are more than 100 caste/ethnicgroup in nepal. we do have many differences but still we are all nepali.

  • thank you for posting this great movie... i have been looking all over!!! once again thanks a lot...
