Wow! Your video was very good! It was to the point and I was able to see exactly what I need to do. Thank you very much. I've been natural for 2 1/2 years and I am still trying to find ways to fix my hair. I love the look but I have not been able to recreate it. I will definitely try this and I will pass this on to others. Thanks so much for posting!
OMG! I watched all of these different tutorials on 3 strand twist and still didn't know how to do it. Yours broke it down in one sentence. Thanks So Much! Had to subscribe
thank you for all the comments. i'm really bad at coming on here to see who has stopped by. i am trying to get back into youtube now that i have loose hair again. i've been locking for 2 years and didn't really have much to post about my hair.
am i the only one who has just heard of this??...i have been natural for the last 5 yrs! have always done 2 strand twists myself, i'm so anxious to try this now!! thx for the vid! but it already takes me 4 hrs to do 2 strands so- i have alot of hair..... hopefully i can move faster!
I usually do 2-strand twists. when I saw the title "3-strand", I had to see. I'm gonna try this. Looks like you do it the same way as a 2-strand, exept with an extra section. It seems like as long as you just take ALL sections the same direction, clockwise (or counterclockwise), you're fine! Shalom!
I don't know if you've gotten the hang of it yet, but I got it on my first try. All you do is basically move the hair in a clockwise direction, instead of weaving it like you would a braid.
thanks so much for this tutorial!! I tried this for the first time and I love how it holds so much better than 2 strands. This will be my method for locs. Thanks again!! You are a Godsend!
Wow, two months and no reply, huh? Don't use mineral oil or petralatum based products on your hair. Bad stuff. Shea butter, coconut oil - natural oils are much better to use on freshly washed (damp) hair. My hair is a loose 3b and won't hold together without a gel. I love the Jamaican Mango & Lime, but I need something with a stronger hold. Lately, I've added got2b spiking glue over the mango & lime twist & loc gel. Godspeed!
hey how did you get yours to look so smooth and skinny. My hair is about the same length as yours and very, very thick. The twists come out nice but very fat and thick looking even when I think I'm using thin strands of hair. What kind of products are in your hair when you did this video?
i usually just use a leav in...i believe it was pantene at that time, but i can't remember for sure. i know i used aloe vera gel when i began twisting, so that my be what kept it smooth and "skinny" lol although they were rather fat as well. try using smaller sections too.
Thanks for sharing! I've tried these before and finally understand what I'm supposed to do! My two strand twists don't last very long, I may have hope with these!!
I thought I know everything about twisting hair. not!!! this is beautiful. I started double twisting my hair into dreads but my hair is so soft. It's going to take me forever to get there. I like this video.
WOW, that is so neat! I never saw this done, and always wondered how people do this. I'm not sure if it would be possible to do with my fine and straight hair, even with elastics on the end. Making several/many in the back and either tying them to eachother or arranging more systematically before pinning with bobby pins could make a real fun and more creative updo (for a prom or a night out?)!
No, it's a twist honey. You don't alternate sides like you would with a braid. You keep pulling from one side. She shows the final result first. Which is a TWIST.
It's not so much a matter of coarse vs fine. My hair is coarse, but the curl is about a 2c-3b...very loose. I just tried these for the first time (LOVE them) and I used got2b Spiking glue to hold it. I usually wear 2-strand twists. The 3-strand twists hold their shape a lot better. Today is Tuesday, I did my hair Saturday. Usually, by now I would start to see frizzies springing out here and there, but not this time. Thanks brebre83!!
She can't show you how it looks on relaxed hair because obviously she doesn't have relaxed hair. How about instead of asking someone who has natural hair to show you what it looks like on relaxed hair, you try it yourself and see?
I'm definitely going to give this one a try the next time I do my hair. Thanks brebre!
msnicoleb74, I read your post a couple of times over and I really don't like the overtone. OBVIOUSLY, if I knew how to do it myself OR knew someone that does them also I wouldn't have had ask her, now would I. Thanx you have a wonderful day. :)
Thank you for the video! I wonder if this will allow me to wash my hair more than once without matting. My twists will mat if washed more than once or twice. Maybe since this is a tighter weave, it will keep it from matting.
Thanks...I'm curious to know how the 3 strand twist out look...I know it would last longer, the 2 strand twist looked flimsy next to your 3 strand twist :-)
Bre Bre, I never thought of this. Excellent video. I tried it sitting right at my desk at work (I couldn't even wait to get home) This si a great way for fatter twists that won't unravel as easily. Thanks.
Oh this was QUITE the business... I had been trying to figure out a new style for my hair, and TA-DAH!!! this is easy, and pretty, and I like this better than the 2 strand twist... Thanks for the great tutorial!
thanks...this was my first video so i know there are things that need to be fixed. i didn't have enough light in the room i was in even when i put a lamp directly overhead.

yea, i know it needs better lighting. it was just something i put together at 2 in the morning. it's kinda hard to film yourself on a digi cam and have everything perfect. i can't redo it since i am now locking my hair so for those who it worked for, great i hope you all have plenty of great hair days ahead. for those who didn't get it from the video beacause of the speed or the lighting, sorry. maybe someone else can give you a better tutorial.

I did these on my hair and then took them out and they created the prettiest little ringlets!!! My hair is kinda kinky so I don't naturally have loose curls, but it looks so cute when it do the twist-out!
