  • Is Ernie alive still? Doesnt his style of playing remind any of you of Muggsy Spanier or a taste of Wild Bill Davison?

  • @Abriggs500 He past away recently in January. His brother is my teacher.

  • Heerman Fortich on clarinet

  • Herman Foretich on clarinet. He taught me how to play jazz and was a real friend.

    Dr. Dan Stephens

  • BOB! I miss Ernie! His Castle Jazz Band 1995 'summer' gig Beijing brought us close. Jim Beatty, Karl Walterskirchen, & me -tuba. I was almost not hired. Ernie asked if I had a BOW TIE. I said no, but I could get one. Ernie hung up and called Jim. He said "Jim how can I hire a guy that does not own a bow tie?".... Well, coming from the quintessential PRO, that was a good point. He hired me anyway. He has played my Wild Cards Jazz up until just a few years ago. I love that MAN! Randy Keller.

  • Unfortunately I think that Ernie doesn't play a lot anymore. He stays in touch with me daily through email with original stories and a lot of humor.

  • These guys deserve more attention: they swing.

  • Thank you so much!!!!!! This is the first videos I have seen of my Daddy, Milton (not Micheal) Dargan "Peanuts" Fitch(playing banjo) on YouTube! You have brought back many memories! Thank you again, since he has passed away, memories are all we have

  • WOW--"Castle Jazz Band"!! My father bought their RECORD--the one with the crazy Arnold Roth illustration on the front. I heard my first ever New Orleans jazz on that record when I was about FIVE years old...in 1960!!! THANK YOU
