Any person who ever has seen any of the gulf countries (some of the richest countries in the world) will see that the infrastructure is in much better shape and way more modern that in the US or western Europe...

And no attention is given to the fact that the adult marine is actually having his love-affair with a minor, which is not romantic, but disgusting.

This movie really just makes me wanna puke my guts out!

This is a horrible movie that shows that the director/producer/actors did not at all bother find out about a culture they are talking about.

This movie is full of flaws and displays a totally wrong picture of the Arabic/Muslim culture. Even the infrastructure of Bahrain is shown as old/poor with camels and stuff.

@LosAngelesGirl24 I'm american and have lived in Bahrain and the movie show a completely different and deceptive image of Bahrain . Bahrain is one of the 6 GCC Gulf countries and it's so developed with skyscrapers, malls , huge roads to get everywhere , exptic cards , bridges and everything a contemporary country could ask for , they are also building a monorail right now . Bahrain also is very liberal for a muslim countries most of it's locals are either moderate of very liberal muslims .

He was just a stupid idiot that thought he was going to run with the same luck as Aladdin, I met both of them and I gotta tell you, he is a jerk, I'm glad she left him! Did you know that after getting divorced he tried to sue her? as if she had any $! She told me that somehow he heard that Meriam's family had sent her millions after the divorce and now he wanted a share so he tried to sue her! That wasn't true but Jason was only after the money.

Ok... Lets put an end to all the speculation about what did or didnt happen to both Meriam and Jason. Im really good friends with one of them and it dosent matter which one, but lets just say that on June 18th 2009 Jason's and Meriams divorce became finale. Also she still lives in America she never went back to Bahrain and Jason still lives in Las Vegas. Both of them are doing their own thing as far as I know then havent had any contact with eachother in over 5 years.

@P13r6 Yes Bahrain is one of the mose developed counties in the whole world! I'm American and used to live in Bahrain , It has skyscrapers , and huge road to get you to places not goats on the streets , the people and laws are very liberal and bot conservative , womean are free to go anywhere they want and wear anything they want .

Especially for how it makes Bahrain seems like an oppressive state when you'd see people date her around CIVILIZED cities, not cities with sheep and goats, as much as you would in Europe. I also dislike how it doesn't get the story correctly, or fully, when it ends up with a divorce between the princess and the marine after she spends more time in Vegas nightclubs than she does with him. She eventually returns to Bahrain. And no, she doesn't get killed.

Thus, it's no where near 'not free' as this movie presumes. Plus, I even lost more of my respect for this movie when I saw the scene in 1:10. EXCUSE ME. I live in Bahrain, and it does NOT have people walking around in the roads with camels and sheep. This movies is just ignorant, and sickening.
