  • yes, got my fix, thanks! where are you guys???

  • *correction 68 times

  • Why do Mancs and Scousers fight? If we formed our own country we'd be the greatest in Europe. We'd have the Las, Beatles, Oasis, Stone Roses, Joy Division, Smiths, Echo and the Bunnymen.... and at football we've been champions of England 66 times since it started.

  • @MattHXIV I'm a manc and I think scousers are top

  • Look. It's not Manchester versus Liverpool. It's not The La's thinking they're the bloody Beatles. It's got fook all to do with whether the Stone Roses are better or not. It's just a heart breakingly beautiful song that's been known to make a grown man cry. Noel Gallagher once said he was trying to finish what The La's started. Yeah, good luck with that Noel. Maybe one day you can aspire to it.

  • @SepherSefiroth Ha!! defo... you can hear it in Stop The Clocks on his Solo album - I got it yesterday.. I'm a long term fan of both La's and then NG and know the score with this... He tries it.. it's good, but does it get into to that dreamy gritty build up of la'la'la ...la'la la laaa... I've seen everbody... etc. Answer: NO. x

  • La's and The stone roses are greatest bands in early1990's.

Looking glass and I am a resurrection are perfect songs in the music history.

  • @changichan1 yeah the sound great one after the other.

  • Painted a 3 story house to this album. One of the most serene moments of my life... Fall 1990... Powerful.

  • champagne supernova, stairway to heaven and this. the three best anthems ever written.

  • i love liverpool, its got its own spirit about it, its different , im a derby boy, but i love that city, this music really captures liverpool for me, especially the last minute where lee is going proper manic, its the tune i hear when im running around liverpool late at night:)

  • mad at the end when u can hear timeless melody and that haha

  • The most haunting in their repertoire.

  • greatest album of all time. i remember my mums car getting done in and the fuckers took this album out of the glove box, they left behind her robbie williams greatest hits, at least they had good taste

  • @bigheadbob37 Brilliant comment!

  • Magic song

  • Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayamn. That was one of the coolest things I've ever heard.

  • The La's got the talent. Oasis got the fame.

Not fair but that's the way it is.

  • is rite our kid yee haaa

  • if the beatles had written this, it would have been proclaimed a 'masterpiece'.

    beautiful beautiful song

  • the influence to the "madchester scene" but no one can compare totally unique and their scousers !!

  • The greatest album i have ever heard.

The Stone Roses coming in at number 2...

  • What a song... typical of british rock.

Sometimes I wonder, how to do the british to be so proudly talented with the music? I think they bring that gift on the veins.

    Greetings.

  • @Gallagherick I have thought of this often and I think the amazing british sound is no accident. I think that is born of night bombings and raids from the german luft from so many years ago. I think that a certain part of the soul was tapped in these desperate times and young minds of that era began to formulate the amazing emotion and sound that all the years have given us , for me , that started with The Who. I have never heard this opine before and as an American that was not there may be off

  • @Gallagherick But I think ultimately these amazing sounds and stories of british rock go all the way back to all those bricks and mortar that were strewn all along the roads of britan so many years ago....It is such a shame so many(99.9%) here in America would listen to the crap we have here...snoop,fifty,gag-a,lil waste.etc and miss this redeeming music.............................just an opinion of a lonely America

  • @31531552 Perhaps this is not so true in America, but in Britain there was certainly a feeling of divide between those who had suffered the war and the children of the post-war boom (and a bit before). Pete Townshend spoke of it once, and it certainly infected the music of the Beatles, Pink Floyd and the Kinks.

  • @Gallagherick agree :P

  • pretty song,

like the lyrics, love the la's

  • This song kills me everytime, reminds me of Old Man by Love in parts.

  • wow im just discovering this band their music is amazing :)

  • @KYONNABIB ya me too

  • Quite simply one of the most astonishingly brilliant songs of all time...Lee...Its a masterpiece lad. Accept it!

  • One of the best songs ever.

  • I just discovered The La's, and Thank God I did. It would have been one hell of a shame if I had died not having heard these beautiful songs.

  • i will always wonder whose eye that was on the front cover of the album lol, great band by the way long live the la's!

  • Nowhere else can surpass Liverpool for the bands it produces fucking magnificent

  • one of the greatest albums ever!!!!!!!!!

  • magic song!!!! remember me when i bought this great la's album somewhere in 1990!!! thanx!!!

  • Folk should be ashamed to mention bloody Oasis any near the La's ffs. Oasis ain't fit to shine Lee's boots La.

  • No need to mention Oasis.Their ok but I found they date in a way these don't.

  • Underrated song for sure. This is always going to remind me of walking home in the cold rain at night, totally high.

  • this was definitely not a one hit wonder band..no way

  • I'd never even heard of this song, but I'm fast loving this group! Wow! A new favourite most definitely.

  • why this song isn't popular we will never no...

  • Just an amazing, spine tingling song, transport yourself back to the time and submerge yourself within it's brilliance.

  • fucking hell i've just heard this right now and it feels like I've had a religious experience but instead of God I'm worshipping the La's

  • @Fgh2rvb Haha.Nice one.Yeah the La's will get you like that.Peerless.

  • This is the band that most inspired me to write music. In 1990 this album was my most prized possession. Also, I was reading the book The Neverending Story by Michael Ende at the time so they will forever be inseparable in my mind. Especially this song.

  • yeah, so my mind was just blown!

  • This song almost always makes me cry, and there can't be many better indicators of how good a song is. This is BEAUTIFUL.

  • There's something about the raw mood this song gives, that's non-describable and beautiful.

  • tell me where to kick off, tell me whens my round. just listen to the scousers do there thing la. sail away on the ocean waves, the change is cast!!

  • no wonder their one of noel gallaghers favourite bands this song he wished he wrote hes a legend

  • Perfect! I don't know The La's very well I just know only There she goes, but I've just realized that they're really good:D This song is so great...

  • awesome tune, glad this stood the test of time, quality

  • Without the la's no oasis its as simple as that.

  • @TheRYJ18 no, Stone roses infuenced Oasis, & Johnny Marr influenced Noel Gallagher. FACT

  • @dan32113

    How stupid can you look.

"We're basically carrying on where The La's left off" (N Gallagher)

  • listening to this song as a teen in U.S.A was cool. It changed my life

  • @jandean61

    Downey ,CA

  • word up motherfuckers

  • the most beautiful song from the la's!!!! sublime clément the dreamer.......

  • @MrSuedehead72 Ye why wasnt this a massive hit. Much better tha wonderwall i think!

  • @Paxobo i hate wonderwall and this song is great, but to say that this could have been more commercially successful must be some of thte biggest of load of horseshit ive ever heard...

  • @BertilUlfsson Are you like 10 years old?

  • @Paxobo no beat.

  • @Paxobo nah, good though

  • magnificently simple & simply magnificent.!!!

  • Simply Amazin!!!

  • Often see lee at the match, quality tune.

  • @SeanCambo next time you see him...tell him he is missed...thanx

  • fuckin inspirational tune!!

  • The change is cast....indeed

  • @pyleen indeed it was.

  • This is an excellent song.

  • Genius.

  • " New World Order" wake up world!

  • The completely fucked up brilliance of Lee Mavers ...layed out ..nice as you like ..in 7 minutes 51 seconds.

  • @weecby3 haha...nice one...right on the money!!!

the pure genius of lee mavers!!

just wish they had done a bit more!

same story as the stoneroses. have you checked out the lost la's record??

  • Haven't heard it mate. Will make a point of doing so though. You're right about Mavers' lot and the Roses ....if ever 2 bands deserved to take over the fuckin' world, it was The La's and The Stone Roses. Peace my friend.

  • @tabulaerasae82 you guys are right...they needed a different producer....like john lackey,.right from the beginning, and they would have gone much farther.

  • has a James Bond feel to it

  • Word Gareth !, trouble is Mavers is a space cadet smackhead who seldom leaves the house, a great shame, musics loss in these "X-Factor" infested times.

  • @HINKLEY81 nice one...extremely well said...the bitter honest truth of lee mavers. crying fucking shame....i cant believe what we have came to musically...i mean that, you actually have to try hard to find good proper music these days...you never used to....or is it the good stuff is overwelmed by the the x factor shite....tells alot about society these days...maybe just me??

  • @HINKLEY81 spek some fuckin sence to a face you quivering wreck

  • @ploppershipo and that was for most of you who bitch about music.use your fuken search bar and find something

  • @HINKLEY81 sad but true,musics loss indeed

  • X factor infested times.Like it,nice to know there's others who like proper music.

  • @HINKLEY81 Every Liverpool band since The La's desperately want to be The La's. Alan Partridge: "The Coral are the band The La's could have been."

  • @RossandGP Steve Coogan is a cunt, he hates scousers the mank twat.

  • @ryanlfc87 90% of people do hate scousers... It's called snobbery, reinforced by misrepresentation in the media and misrepresentation by professional scousers playing up to some tired image of what they think Liverpudlians should be like. Your logic's skewed though - you don't like people downgrading your regional identity and then do exactly the same to someone else (albeit in a badly spelt way). I was paraphrasing Partridge's: "Wings are the band The Beatles could have been."

  • @RossandGP i wouldnt say 90% like, maybe you should go back to school to to get that maths gcse u missed out on. Wow ! Another spelling nazi, what are you the youtube spelling police, what a twat u are. And if your referring to the way i spelt mank, that how i fucking spell it, mank as in manky as in dirty, horrible ,scummy. now fuck off. And if you want to pick at my punctuation you are a fucking idiot because its youtube not a test, get a life you wanker.

  • @ryanlfc87 Like I said: "...professional scousers playing up to some tired image of what Liverpudlians should be like." This is for comments about The La's - not an opportunity for you to vent spleen.

  • @RossandGP Did you study scouse at the university of nob heads. The majority of scousers when treated with respect i.e not being patronised or stereotyped are great people, but as in every city there are dickheads who ruin it.

  • love how the song just cressendos into cacophohy at the final fifteen seconds!

  • mhmm baby its all about THE TINT IS CAST BABY.

Lee is saying what we all want to say. and if you cant say it keep trying to say it

  • Best song ever

  • excellent morceau des la's!!! superbe, trippant , mélancolique!!!!!

  • i don't think there are to many perfect albums out there but this has to be one of them!!! if he thought he could have got the album sounding better then i would love to have heard it!!! lee you have a gift and we all want to hear it!!!

  • @Garethfeb16 nice one bud. well said....although weve had a taste i think we all want more.

  • with bands like this mate a taste isn't enough though lol, even though i was brought up on the beatles, oasis u2 i think this album is by far the best i have heard and that includes rubber soul or revolver? it's all personal taste though mate???

  • This albums just special its a shame what the la's could of been, this is the best track in my opinion aswell, lyrics are class

  • @tabulaerasae82 thats what i meant bud...i love em...this album is deffo in my top 5 of all time, this song probs rankning the same...obv with the stoneroses album. i want more la's big time!!!. your deffo right on taste cos with respect ive never got into the the beatles...just not my cuppa....but u2 are very good....edge is a tad over rated but theyre a great band.

  • you should here more beatles stuff then mate, listen to abbey road, revolver and rubber soul, it's impossible for anyone not to like at least one of those albums.. plus the beatles were an inspiration to the roses, the la's and oasis etc. they probz woulden't of been as successfull if it wasn't for the fab four!!

  • @seafortha heard most the beatles stuff.....plus all that comercial stuff you mentioned.....not my cuppa...dont worry about it!!!....so with respect whats your point?? why is it impossible?? or is it cos society says its impossible and you read it somewhere..??...r.e your last line of your comment well i can only ignore......sorry. regards

  • fair enough, it's your opinion i suppose.. i was exaggerrating a little bit there, u don't have to like those albums, i just find it hard how people can not, but each is own i guess.. no worries pal..

  • @seafortha no probs m8....there is lots of music i adore and cannot comprehend how people dont like or appreciate them....i dont know what it is ive just never seen the fuss about the beatles, cant explain why. but anyway thanx for civil reply (rare on yt)... and take care.

  • lol yeah it is pretty rare in this generation on the net.. no worries mate. all the best!

  • What year is this from?

  • You must wan't to mean 1989/1990?

  • i think it's more likely you raped him andrew

  • Comment removed

don't kick off, it's not necessary man, not necessary at all.

when we got a voice, we got a mind, we got an opinion...

this is enough, no need to kick off man.

    just think about this yeah...

listen to this song an think about it.

chill, it's you're own insecurity and lack of wisdom that makes u wanna kick off, i promise you that.

  • @northernsouljah is that you lee??

  • True dude,the la's kick ass.

  • Fuck you and everton too!

  • I love Oasis but this is better than Stop the Clocks im sorry, there both good songs but I can listen to this over and over again and still love it.

  • youre one bad mong you la

  • hes a friggin quilt im

  • I remember my mom had this album on cassette when I was a kid. I grew up with this album and love it to death. Has this been released on CD yet? I really would like to get a copy. :)

  • the las by the las been out since 1990!! lead singer was a bit mad.. split up not long after this

  • Typical Noel Gallagher. Takes a decent song and turns it in to a fucking belting song.

  • Yep. Noel takes shite songs from the Laa's and makes them ten times better, now what you moaning for. Shut the fuck up before we slap you emos silly.

  • Just enjoy it for fuck sake, once in a lifetime shit

  • bloody masterpiece, only got the la's album last week but this instantly stood out. Class album, doledrums a tune and a half too. There all class songs

  • you should get the bbc sessionsi diferent versions of the songs and a song called "over" thats out of this world

  • lolololol... What a blithering oaf.

No looking glass - No stop the clocks.

Noel was asked in Q 20th anniversary issue, "what tune of the past 20 years do u wish you'd written" Answer - "Looking glass by the La's"...

    Ur idol idolises our idol.

Respect to Noel Gallagher AND Lee Mavers.

  • My god HEFERNAN74, have you no soul? Are you so indoctrinated by the media's perception of Oasis as the great white hope that your ears no longer function? The arrogance of your 'end of' just sums you up. I would rant longer at you but I can predict your response - as your taste in music. It'll most likely be predictable and pander to the average.

What's it like in your little Oasis cupboard? There is no creation outside that is there?

  • No "Creation" --- Very good mate... lolololololol...
