Dale Morris Jr. is now playing with Bob Wills' Texas Playboys, the others being in their 80's and still sounding magnificent. He's every bit as good as his father, and continues in the fine tradition of Western and Western Swing fiddlers. Check them out.
Dale Morris was my teacher, my student, and still is a compelling influence on my violin playing. Thanks for putting him and the rest of the Sons of the Pioneers up for me to reminisce.
curleyb3--I grew up with Roy as a hero-I think todays world is so lacking in the hero department-no one to look up to-to teach right from wrong-thanks for this video!
I don't think I will ever hear music this good again. I love the Sons of the Pioneers.Although he isn't in this group my favorite "son" was Ken "Festus" Curtis.
im 30 years old i love roy rogers and other western music.i meet roy rogers jr in branson missouri.my dad is 75 years old he got me hook on that kind music.
Thank you Wally for your kind comment. I'm 85 now and used to play this music on the radio. Sons of the Pioneers were always my favorits and we also played their style of music.
If you check Lb45888 on YouTube and MySpace you will find Videos of My son quoting the Bible too.
Thank you so very much. I love Western Music. My dear uncle played it for me and I fell in love with it years ago. By the way Marty Robbins has a better version of the first song.
This was filmed in 1981 or 1982. The fiddler is Dale Morris and he was only with them for approximately one year. From left to right Roy Lanham, Rusty Richards, Dale Warren, Luther Nallie and Dale Morris.
Thank you for your comment. I have been trying to find The name of the fiddle player for a while and could not find it. Now that I know his name I was able to find him. Going to try and add it on the video. Thanks again.
Yes, they are great! No I don't know when this was recorded. It had to be at least 12 years ago. If I should find out I will post it. Thank you for your comment. If anyone knows please notify me. Curley
I can't watch too many because I start crying. I am a 68yr. old vet that was raised on this wonderful music. Whomever put these videos on YouTube, I cannot express how much joy I derive from your efforts. Thank you oh so very much.
Hi Ray, Thanks for your comment. I was watching some of your videos on teaching Guitar and will watch all of them. They are excellent. Keep it up. I had one fellow in my group that that played guitar and couldn't read music and he was terrific I would match him with anyone that can read music.
I love the Sons of the Pioneers. If you like their music, you should try the Sons of the San Joaquin. They sound just like SOP. I met them, and they are nice guys too.
San Joaquin. Yes I agree with you, They are great. I have some of their music, but don't have any pictures or videos on them. I am Working on it. Thanks again.
Thank you Randy, I'm glad you like this Western music and keep up your playing the rock music. Rock can be great too. My son started out with rock music too and went a long way.
I can remember going to Branson Missouri and seeing these guys when i was about three years old. I literally wore out the tape my parents got me from the show we went to. That music is still in my blood. Thank you so much for sharing this, I am amazed there is a video recording of them available.
I grew up on Roy Rogers, and there will never be another like him! We need many more like him today, too!

My father loved these singers, his favorite

Jack Hannah said he heard it was the biggest selling video the show ever produced.
