Both movies (Shawshank Redemption and The Count of Monte Cristo) are enthralling, each in its own way.

While the former showed the character almost exactly as the novel, the latter did not show all the novel; they skipped much darker scenes of revenge.

I can see how he used The Hidden Secret in Think and Grow Rich too. A brilliant application of his SPA that came with the result of implementing Step 1, 2 and PPA. He had the mastermind too in that old guy with him in prison.

If you like inspirational movies like this, you should read The Hidden Secret in Think and Grow Rich. It outlines the natural process of goal achievement. After you read it and watch this movie, you can actually see how he used The Hidden Secret to break out of jail and exact revenge. Makes you see the movie in a new light of understanding.

If you didn't watch the movie , then don't . It's a spoiler, that's it . The masterpiece is the BOOK , the movie is a crappy adaptation with a LOT of changes made to fin in ~ 2 hours length . ALEXANDRE DUMAS is the brainmaster , read the book , THEN watch the crappy movie and you will see 2 different stories, trust me .

Same goes with The man in the iron mask , the tree musketeers , and any other crappy adaptations .

You have to be an "over human" to describe in "video format" what was in the book. I don't think that I'll ever see anything more impressing than the pictures I saw (in my imagination) while reading this book...

Not to mention that books aren't just about plot and characters, but about the storytelling itself, and beauty of the writing and the words. I really have to disagree with that. I felt the 1970s version with Richard Chamberlain was so much deeper. In that version after destroying his enemies he didn't get the girl. The process of revenge had made man, one she could not love. She morned for her ex-lover who died in prison though she saluted the Count of Monte Cristo.
