I think it's kind of pointless to protest a recruiting station. If he's trying to make a statement about war he should protest the people who decide to start wars and not the people who have to fight in them. I also wonder why the police felt it necessary to bring in an attack dog to confront a lone peaceful protester. Same with the taser. And did they really need that many officers to handle that situation? All that was necessary was for two officers to carry him away.

If you can't handle staring death in the face every day then maybe you're not cut out to be a police officer. It's terrible to see cops die in the line of duty but it's a consequence that we have to accept if we want our country to remain a place where freedom comes first.

@pu33yassassin If you were in that kid's position who wasn't causing any harm to anyone you'd think about the situation a little differently. Maybe you haven't ever been in a situation where you were powerless against authority. This country was founded on the principles of giving people rights that protect them from unlawful authority. It would be a sad situation to be in when cops could shoot anyone on site because they felt threatened. Power can and will be abused.

@pu33yassassin It doesn't matter. He was peacefully protesting which is a constitutional right. It would be different if he was acting in a threatening or dangerous way. By your logic it would be the norm for the police to use any means necessary to apprehend a suspect whether he had intent to cause harm or even to cooperate. There's a scale by which officers are forced to use when matching appropriate action to perceived threat. Always innocent until proven guilty.

I think it's kind of pointless to protest a recruiting station. If he's trying to make a statement about war he should protest the people who decide to start wars and not the people who have to fight in them. I also wonder why the police felt it necessary to bring in an attack dog to confront a lone peaceful protester. Same with the taser. And did they really need that many officers to handle that situation? All that was necessary was for two officers to carry him away.
