  • Used to love watching the Sweet on TOTP when I was a kid...Every Thursday night at 7.25 after that boring programme Tommorows World.

  • This song brings back great memories, Such a classis song by a Super British group.

    .

  • THE OXFORD DICTIONARY INCLUDED A FEW NEW WORDS WHEN THIS SONG CAME OUT ---RARE CLASSIC DESERVED NO1 !!!

  • The guitar sounds like a rock'n chainsaw. Great song !!!!!

  • My father gave me a good taste of music <3

  • @Lomablen And so has mine. Thanks dad for letting me grow up with great music! :)

  • This kicks sooo much ass!! SWEET FOREVER!!

  • Brian is wearing almost the Feyenoord football shirt, it's only black-white instead of red-white. Great song, by a great band!

  • shouldn't this be ( FOX ON MY GUN I'M SCREAMIN AS I CUM? ) that would sound better, especially if weird al yankovic is singing it......;-) LMAO

  • Shit I remember when I was a 10 years old when this song was dominating radio land..;-)

  • Holy carp I love this song, I listen to it alllll day :)

  • I love this song and was born '89 =)

My mother gave me good taste in music

  • @evolutionpr helllll yeh!

my mom did the same shit to me, born '91 ;p #stilllisteninin2012

  • That one dude looks alot like Nigel Tufnel.

  • I remember listening to this song on the radio at the bowling alley on Saturday mornings in the 70s. That's what good classics do, bring back great memories. Rock on, SWEET!!!

  • @flormtr1 Yes they gotter done in the 70`s!I need the name of there hair dresser!LOL!!

  • @ craigchisel1

  • @oct201981 FYI it's Mick Tucker on drums.

  • @youthrevisitedagain mick or mike no difference . its the music that counts in my book

  • This would explain why around 1978 my mother took a pair of hair tonges to my hair and gave me a bizarre Richard III hair do?

  • No cause I know a lot of women with short cuts! Don't get me wrong I was born in 78 I know that was probally the style back then but the guy luk like my second grade music teacher,

  • the bass player reminds me of the guy from a the movie a clock work orange looks just like him dont you think so

  • @kurtzcol Yes he does! The spittin image of Malcom McDowell. Good spot!

  • If you had the chance to own singles by the sweet and you had the chance to turn them over The B sides were mostly own compositions even the B side to COCO is a hard rock number

  • Why in the 70 and 80ds did men wear there hair like women?

  • @kclab369 Because it was cool, baby,,yeah,My late dad used to say to me"if you don`t get your hair cut,it will fall out and you will go BALD",wish I had listened to him, sorry dad you was right as usual.

  • @kclab369 So you say, when a woman wear short hair, they have mens hair?

  • awesome track

  • This is the studio track not a live hit, but they sure seamed to get it lipped up right and timing is great and it looks good. The quality of the tape is so good it could pass a digital for such an old piece. This song was a hit at the same time Henry Gross's Shannon was playing and they seam to go hand in hand for me. Thanks for sharing it

  • I'm waiting for tight pants on guys to come back in style. :)

  • @HappyBunny8one2 I wear bell button jeans, i like them :3 tight at my thigh and loose at my legs :D

  • @HappyBunny8one2

ever hear of skinny jeans, friend?

  • @MrUpdabum Yes but the "cut" is not the same. Everything nowadays has a droopy butt. So sad...

  • @HappyBunny8one2 im wearing mine now

mid you im 4'6" and 19 stone everythings tight :)

  • Oh damn i just remebered this was on Dazed and Confused what a great song and movie

  • Rock On SWEET, early glam rock and power ballad, just crank it up. Great to hear / see them again via youtube. Life is grand - if you live long enough!

  • Was the 'new direction' the breakaway from the 'chin/chapman' songwriting team , and the start of their own material? They became a lot heavier in style ; pity Noel Edmonds talked over the intro, if you play it LOUD it's one of the best intros to any song ever! ( another great intro example is Pretty Vacant...by the Pistols!)

  • Rock adevarat !

  • hairstyles oompa loompa! =D

  • i LOVE sweet but at 2:17 when he does his drum twirl the drumming sounds keeps going so im guessing they lipped sing it not to hate on them.

  • @skateabsessction Pedal controlling the hit hat...

  • The Sweet was the #1 selling British band for over 5 years post the Beatles breakup. They really got some sound out of those amps. Though NOT the Beatles they WERE the Sweet.

  • Tak kiedyś grano rockandrolla...

  • the sweet were amazing nuff said

  • Okay this is a great song but I couldn't helo but notice that the bass player looks pervy when he sings. That's all.

  • @thetrooper84. yeah I have my moments. It was either them or his mother. :))

  • @truthaxe. Them fags was probably getting more pussy than you ever dreamed of.It's a decent tune for the times and genre. Jealous? They screw your sisters or something?

  • @japzbene1562 this is the best answer for this as*hole

  • @japzbene1562 Well spoken! And since the song is about GROUPIES, they had plenty to choose from. The 1970's, a band from the UK, of course they would look glitzy.

  • I was 10 in 1975....so great and I rember this on the radio

  • Good Band, great live performance, really put allot more effort into their shows than most bands. Not just about hair & costumes, I saw one of the best drum solos ever in 1975 with Mick Tucker.

  • What a fag band.

  • @TruthAxe what a fag comment.

  • brian is almost wearing a Feyenoord-shirt, love it!!

  • great stuff..!!

  • The first album I bought with money I earned was Desolation Boulevard, featuring this song and Ballroom Blitz in 1974.Other songs on it are "sweet" too. Great stuff.

  • OMG..who did their hair? YIKES!

  • @Doey46 that was the style back then

  • bob stinson is in heaven listening to this.

  • Is that a joke ?

Ace covered this last year on his newest album.

  • I could see Ace Frehley doing a cover of this

  • very awesome , im from chicago

  • The guitar isn't even pugged in! LOL!

  • Flashbacks -- taking me back 30+ years.

  • fuck yeah.... long live Sweet, T. Rex, Bowie, Long Live Glam, Long Live ROCK N ROLL!!!!

  • Super !!!

  • they r under rated top band of the 70s

  • Great quality!! Thanks for the posting!!

  • Thanks for uploading this video. Glam Rock was something else in the early to mid 70's. Of course, we all know Bowie reached rock-God status, but The Sweet were seriously under-rated if you ask me. With songs like Fox on the Run, Love is like Oxygen, Ballroom Blitz, and my personal favorite, Little Willy, this band is as solid as it gets. The Sweet rocks!

  • A classic rock epic :-)

  • Great song. Unfortunately, you can tell a couple of them are screwing up lipsyncing, and nobody is playing the keyboards even though you hear them.

  • @kellyrk2007 So true--there are two keyboard layers in this song back int he days of analogy synths--especially that Moog--need two keyboard players to do that live

  • @christopheclugston Believe the guitar is layered during the solo. Strange how he does harmonized guitars on one guitar

  • @nunya92 Roland "Space echo's" and analog synthesizers are pure musical magic!

  • @kellyrk2007 What's the point of playing live in a studio take? I simply can't get it.

  • Thanks for sharing this HQ footage! Just goes to show what a great band Sweet were. Brian was great and this band was a true POWERHOUSE.

  • WHAT A GREAT BAND !!!!!!!

  • The Sweet were highly underrated. Noisy loud and obnoxious...just the way I like it. They should have been bigger

  • thanks for sharing this great video!!!.it' Sweet!!!

  • Very good!

  • One of my favourite synth intros ever. And that's up against some pretty stiff competition : )

  • Great video. They've got that British teeth thing going on!

  • Sieht aus wie n kleines Mädchen der Typ

  • The little guy looks creepy. Good voice though.

  • November 22, 1975 Hit #5 and was in the top 40 for 11 weeks.

Just listen to how The Sweet influenced both Queen (1976) and Cheap Trick (1979) just a few years later.

  • @WECB640 I never relised it but your definately correct. Mark Chapman was the producer for Sweet and a whole bunch of other power pop bands (17) including Suzi Quatro, Blondie and T Rex so maybe that has something to do with it. But still uniquely SWEET, unlike all the homoginised Sony corporate rubbish that all sounds like the music composition is made by the same 3 computers audio nerds for Beyonce, lady Ga Ga, Usher, Etc.

  • @WECB640 and Def Leppard (listen to "Rocket" by them)

  • Epic !

  • seriously...how good were the Sweet ?

This is a great rock and roll song

  • @johnnyM809

They wrote really good songs and had real 4 part harmonies .

Give them a Good Fair listen and I bet you won't be disapointed

  • METAMORFOSEES?

  • The Stranglers must have been influenced by this song.

  • @rumpraisin Always a bit of myth that Punk and New Wave were "year zero". All those bands owed a huge debt to Glam Rock - Bowie, Roxy, The Sweet, Slade, T Rex and Sparks especially.

  • @keith904A

all punk was .....was people who wished they could really play instruments an they got on stage, turned it up so loud it was pure distortion, and jammed an had the front man do the wildest hit to gain attention,IE:KISS my esitmate that less than 25% of the "punk" bands could even truely play their instruments past garage band jr high skillz back then.......saw it with my own eyes o..well.still some good music came from it!

  • What would todays 21 year olds think? Me thinks they'd like it a lot

  • I was born in the wrong decade.

  • You also do not see many bands with members playing TWO instruments!

  • Comment removed

  • @Vindicator58 Rush and Battles both do. But yeah, it's rare.

Separately, what the hell was the bassist on? That expression is demonic.

  • very few bad songs from the 70's very few good one's since

  • my favourite sweet track

  • great song,great band

  • Andy Scott needs to give it up he cant compete with what Brian had not then and not now!!

  • @dmuse1981

    Agree100% bud

  • the tv presenter is not the guy from Deal or No Deal by any chance, is it??

  • @Lloyidian Yeah, thats him

  • I wish my girlfriend had his hair...

  • Drummer's got the drum stick twirl thing happening- very good!

  • Spinal Tap apparently based their hairdos on these guys.

  • Awesome....

  • METAMORPHIES??????FUNNY HAHAHA

  • I just watched the new Sweet with Andy Scott performing Fox on the run, and they look a very bad cover band, all about money, shame. I just love the original Sweet!!!

  • Why di the lead singer kill himself?

  • @ralph4877 He didn't kill him self on purpose, it was hear failure and something else that caused him to die at home after he had checked himself out of a hospital. As far as I know he was addicted to alcohol and drugs and these can cause death but they weren't the cause.

  • Brian Connoly is almost out here on a Feyenoord 74' football shirt , only the black colour should be red !!

  • My junior year in high school 1975! God it seems like just yesterday. The music was just so good!

  • I think it's funny how much the lead singer of Sweet and Ace Frehley looked alike in the 70's. And just a few years ago he covered it wonderfully, but Sweet is great. You can't beat the original.

  • Fuck yeah.

  • "...a musical metamorphosis (with pretentious pronunciation)". More like a musical evolution! Man, wouldn't it be sweet (pardon the pun) to be able to go back in time to live out certain fantasies? In this case, it would be to walk up and slam my double souled Dayton shitkicker boots right up this fuckin' gay boy's little ass!

  • They were so good...weird how Brian became shrivelled up before he died while Andy turned into the Michelin man!

  • Love the sweet and the upgrade thanks enjoyed very much!!

  • Awesome!!!!!!!!!!1

  • I'm Not ; I was introed to "The Sweet" by a Band member in the 80's . I relate by Music not Age . But if U think about it "Fox On The Run" (as well as other songs) . Like "Pat Benatar" did {Remakes} from "The Sweet" . The way I look @ it there is no age limit IN MUSIC........

  • ah glam rock, great track by a great band

  • i love this band awesome song as are every song they make

  • GREATTTTTTT!!!!

  • great video quality. The best of 70s Sweet I have seen, thank you

  • Man I'm feelin ...OLD

  • @mykmuzyka dont be ashamed of it,bro :) everyone age's, even steve, andy, brian, and mick. you're lucky you got to grow up with the sweet, best damn glam band :D

  • nice fukin scarf

  • Wow this version has more punch to it. Did they compress the hell out of the bass drum or something?

  • Fucking brilliant.

  • Amazing band

  • Oh the other version has no synth..

  • Fabulous latter day Sweet. What's this about 2 versions??

  • Man this really brings back the 70s when they had FOX night at costa mesa speedway CA, Get your fox into the races for free.

  • God this takes me back...no I dont look the same : ( but i still love this song!!!

  • I prefer original UK version

  • Excellent version!!! who cares if it's already on here, keep em coming! :):):)

  • those were the days...

  • @62tamir hell yeah!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 0:58....Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You get it right every time retunerman! Excellent work, superb repro quality. Big, big 'Thank You'.

  • le tube de l annee eh oui justin bieber va te rhabiller

  • This was The Sweet at their best, great song, and it all came together beautifully..thank you for posting retuneman

  • Suck out the echo and cheesey keyboard and this song rocks. Serve it raw!!

  • Rickenbacker bass, fender guitar, ludwig drums, 4 great musicians and singers... Yeah thats a recipe for an awesome rock song.

  • 2:17 =O look at the drummer... he can play the hi-hat without using his sticks ;D

  • Well, they don't make them like this anymore,

every tune then had its own sound and atmosphere,

today it all became tooooo much of the same...

Yes brothers and sisters, yesterday everything was better!

  • The bassist looks like Alex deLarge from a Clockwork Orange.

  • The opening, the bridge, the voices (great backing singer) are things we don't see anymore. Today I check the top ten list just to find it's full of tthe usal crap.

  • Another YouTube gem.

  • DEFINITELY ONE OF THEIR BEST SONGS PITY THAT ANDY SCOTT AND STEVE PRIEST ARE THE ONLY 2 MEMBERS LEFT (REMEMBER READING ABOUT MICK TUCKERS DEATH FROM LEUKEMIA IN ONE OF THOSE GLASSY MAGS (LIKE "HELLO)

  • Spectacular Sweet! Bands today just don't compare. My flares & platforms are packed ready to go back to the 70s!!

  • Steve's look at 1:00 is totally Malcom McDowell ala Clockwork Orange...

  • Kick ass band-that should of got my recognition-but in a time with hi-profilers it was tuff- they stayed true to there music- awesome !!

  • Great song and post!

  • 35 anni! E non mi stancherei mai di ascoltarli!!!!! Grazie per tutto cio' che mi avete donato negli anni luminosi ma anche bui della mia gioventu'!

  • Brian Connelly...Legend
