No one has any illusions about what the McCain campaign is trying to do lately. And doing it, and then feigning innocence, isn't going to cut it either. Earlier in the campaign, McCain grabbed one of his "supporters" and chided him for using Obama's full name, because he understood that supporter was trying to dishonorably defame a US Senator with ugly implications. I would not vote for John McCain even if he was running for dog catcher. Both he and Palin have sank to the lowest levels I have ever seen in politics. McCain's closet is full of skeletons, his anger knows no bounds and clearly he lacks a shred of integrity. McCain as President would take us into more wars, alienation for the rest of the world and likely a depression.

But McCain's voting record since 1990 doesn't support this explanation. In addition to voting to oppose a state holiday in 1987 (which he later supported) and a federal holiday in 1989, McCain voted in 1994 to cut funding for the commission that promoted King's holiday.
