The Germans should have accepted all possible volunteers to fight on their side (Ukrainians, Russian POWs etc.). From the winter 1941/42 on there were lack of workforce, not to mention all the casualties on the front.

They took SOOO many soviet prisoners it made no sense at ALL! They even had women prisoners too, it was so many of them. As Slavs, they were considered "Untermenschen" -- subhumans -- by the Germans. As far as Nazi forces were concerned, the laws of war did not apply. Conditions in the prison camps themselves were atrocious. They had open areas fenced off in the elements freezing 30minus many froze to death,Cannibalism was rife, and deliberate. They really did treat these people like subhumans.

Because German soldiers were not the bravest soldiers. The bravest Soldier was the Finnish soldier who fough both Soviets or Germans 1:4 ratio and won those battles.
Germans only were brave while they were killing Russian foot soldiers from airplanes with bombs. Once Russians were able to mechanize their troops (often better then Germans ) Russians much better better soldiers then Germans.

Why did they not encircle or cut off the forces around Lake Lagoda, why did they not pressure the Russians more if they are as superior as you make them out to be. Axis armies (led by Nazi Germany) reached Latvia and Lithuania in a week of invasion, during the next few weeks their populations were mobilized to fight for the Axis.
In fact Latvian units were fighting on the outskirts of Moscow.
Soviets had most of their tanks at the beginning of war in storage facilities.they were bombed and destroyed during the first few weeks.
Only in 1943 Soviets managed to out produce United Axis armies in all weapon categories including tanks.

The Germans should have accepted all possible volunteers to fight on their side (Ukrainians, Russian POWs etc.). From the winter 1941/42 on there were lack of workforce, not to mention all the casualties on the front.
It seems that extermination of the unwanted people was more important than winning the war.
As a result, people do not want to understand the real National Socialism - a beautiful and healthy cause.

@akibaforyou You are CORRECT, Adolf did take his focus off of capturing Moscow before the winter. Literally took crack Panzer division away from this front and sent them south.
He wanted the oil fields in the south.
The front became to big to control.
Taking Moscow was more than a political military objective, as most Soviet rails lines intersected within the Greater Moscow area.
Taking Moscow would have logistically and militarily cut the Soviet Union
in TWO !!

@akibaforyou Capturing Moscow would have done nothing except probably cause Germany to lose the war faster since they would have been without the oil from the Caususes in the south.

I have nothing against the Germans. Its the Nazis, Nazi collaborators, supporters and such that I have a problem with.
Im not bitter at Germany. Infact, I take great interest in German history following the War up till '89.
Had a select few people in Germany never risen to power and launched a War of Aggression, 20th century history, and our modern world could have been different.
On 'respect' - The Nuremberg Trials made it pretty clear who was at fault for the death of millions in WWII.

The older generation of Germans, and noteably German WWI veterans- were the only ones to see the danger in Hitler.
The way I see it as of right now- the fact that East Germans suffered under the Russians is not my problem. Fuck them, for all I care. They were not starved, or enslaved, or deprived of anything. And they lived. The world must NEVER EVER, until the end of the world, forget the Holocaust. I hope that all those who took part in the Holocaust are punished accordingly. Fuck the Krauts.

You didnt specify what your are reflecting on, but I assume you are talking about "during the war" era. If im wrong, than correct me.
WWII was notable to each country spreading propaganda, exaggerating, and yellow journalism.
But much of the news was indeed factual truth; only tampered with (yellow journalism, exxaggeration). Some of the news, at least in the US, was straight. For example, America knew of the Holocaut. It didnt know the details, but it knew OF the existence of the Holocaust.

To expand on my last comment, the United States knew that there was a systematic- government operated and sponsored genocide of Jews and other "inferiors". This knowledge arrived in the US by 1941 and was widely published. So much so that a national poll was taken, asking the American people if they thought that the Jews had themselves to hold responsible for the Holocaust against them.
The US public knew THAT there was a Holocaust, and that there were camps.
