  • why did you not use the grid on the cutting mat?

  • @saintben2008

to me the ruler on top is faster and more accurate than matching the grid on the cutting mat--personal preference.

  • Is that die custom made?

  • @happytazzy65 No, that is a standard Accuquilt strip die.

  • Hi,

I heard that you have to cut fabric on a slant because it won't cut on the bias. It appeared on your video that you did not slant your material. Will the cutter cut on the bias or not?

    Thanks, Denise

  • @mafiamolly i have never cut on a slant or bias. if you do that it will be stretchy and your blocks would distort with use, laundering and drying. you know how you get that stretchy feel if you are pulling fabric on the bias? that is why i have always been told it is important to make sure you are lined up , not on bias. there are some projects where you may do so, but normally for a quilt you would not want it stretchy , it would have a very uneven shape at some point doing so. God bless.

  • @mafiamolly

some of the dies are set on a slant for ease in going through the cutter. fabric should always be cut on the grain unless the pattern specifically calls for bias. I prefer cutting on the lengthwise grain.

  • Great video! I just got my Go cutter. I love this technique. Thank you!
