@ebf1957 It's basically a sub-catagory of the Valiant. It shares the same windshield and doors and dash board, but the rear section of the car is different. Just as the Valiant Duster has different sheetmetal from the roof and rear door back from a Valiant. Even the 67 to 69 Barracuda is a shared platform of the Valiant.
Family car? LOL. This was my first car as well, it was also my brother and sisters' first car too (same one). It's still parked at my mom's house just been sitting there since 1999 when I retired it. My brother used to pick these things up like candy bars in the late 80's and into the 90's for like 400 bucks. If I only knew then what I know now.
Wasn't the body of the Barracuda taken from the Valiant?

Underestimated car, totally overshadowed by the sensational new Mustang, a pity!

Yep, it and Rambler's Marlin all came out at the same time as the Mustang......the Barracuda first!
