hey i droped my psp about 2 feet to the ground lucky it was carpet and i was playing in my dads car and the sun his my psp and you could kina see throught the pino black and their was a 3 little cracks around the psp not the screen should i worry or is this simply the paint job

See the small tab like thing beside the other connector?

The small one is the brightness key for the screen, or the thing that makes your screen LCD.

Without that, your PSP is like a gameboy advance that doesn't work in sunlight.

Can anyone help me please? I just installed my new screen and after 2-3 minutes lines start running up the screen. Not to mention the screen was REALLY scratched up. The post on eBay said that it was a brand new screen. I was just wondering if anyone else ever had this problem and found a fix.

@gnetix1 I was searching for the same answer but couldn't find anyone else with the same problem as you. I ended up fixing the line problem on the new screen. At 5:22 in this video, I didn't have this piece put in all the way, so that's why there was some information coming across the screen, but not all of it. I solved it by using my fingernail to snap it in place. I heard a little click and knew it was in. Before, I had only pushed it in a little bit without hearing a snap

@p002500p Thanks for the info man. It turns out I had a bad screen. If I applied pressure to the power connection cord with my finger the lines would go away. The eBay seller was understanding and sent me a replacement in just a few days. Everything is back to normal now! :)

Guys go to amazon. You can get a screens for less than 30 bucks with shipping. Also make sure you are getting the proper screen for your type of PSP.

Just want to let everybody know, if you follow his guide and your new lcd screen still stays blank, it is very possible that the backlight fuse went out. You need to sold a small wire onto the 2 ends of the fuse to bridge it. Then cover the wire with a thin tape to keep it from touching the lcd brace.(This is very important!!!)

It doesn't have black foams around the screen like the original. It's not functioning either so I am returning it for refund.

I have the same PSP, and I have tried everything to get this thing fixed. I bought the same exact screen as you have in this video. I have a problem when I turn the PSP on; nothing happens to the screen. I've followed videos, instructions, and help from email, but still; nothing. When I connected the LCD, I put it back in the LCD Cage, then turned the PSP on, and the screen did not light up, at all. The exact thing happened to me. I can only hear sound, but no pictures.

Now I don't know which one has problems, the cheap looking psp lcd screen replacement I got from eBay, or my psp itself.

But I can still push the buttons back and forth, and load a game from memory stick blindly. I can hear all the music and know the game is loading correctly. Just no display.

I need a fully working psp lcd screen to test if there's any problem with the psp itself.

Yes Ethan, there's a more dangerous way, but, sure fire way to fix it contrary to what everyone believes! Stick your psp in the microwave for 30 seconds and the pixels will realign themselves.. This is not actually cause by a broken screen, but a confused screen! When it was hit, the pixels flew all over the place, a little heat and they will go back to where they came from!
