Denzel is one of my favourite characters.

He's the one light in the dark that might spark an anime adaptation sequel, perhaps long after Cloud and Tifa and everybody are gone, Denzel would go off on an adventure or something, to become 'strong' like he said in the OVA.

@bladerj He was cured, jackass. Cloud splashed the water over his affected area, his forehead and Aerith's cure cured him. Geostigma was ridded of in the world once the pure water was given to them by Aerith in the church. Denzel wasn't the last, he was a part of the first group to get cured. The rest of the world was still affected.

Cloud will survive and Denzel is is son. You can't change that. Denzel is a good child and loves Cloud. I don't think you know anything, you're just saying you do.

@bladerj Oh and "emo" Cloud doesn't exist anymore. During Advent Children he found a reason to fight, a reason to stop running. He found a reason to stop blaming himself and move on. In the end, he learned he was never alone and smiled for the first time in years. With his new family and world crisis gone(until Dirge of Cerberus), he is quite happy with his new family. Cloud was happy to get on with his life.

As a Cloud fan, you should be proud he ever smiled again, not hating someone he loves.

@SolitaryWinterStar unlike the other characters, i felt no sympathy for him, it just felt like he was tossed in there, with ACC extra scenes i expected they would show more of him to develop him, but honestly, i just wanted him dead more.

i know japanese mentality is diferent,but the phone church scene made me want to spank him, the cloud scene following was nice, but for cloud developement, for the kid, it made no diference in the overall story.

i frankly i found his short stupid.

@bladerj His mother didn't, it was that generous old lady who was Reeve's mother. She took him in after she found out he had no family. He was not just tossed in. For most of any story he was a common civilian until he was affected by the Geostigma along with many others, then he was founded by Cloud after fainting from the painful effects of the Geostigma.

@bladerj Well I don't know about those other similar situations, but Denzel hasn't spoken to someone very socially in a proper manner for a long time. It can be really weird to hear a random person think you're someone else, too, especially when even if you were desparately lonely at the time, that someone on the other side would even answer. First time experiences with talking to someone you can't see and you've never met can set the adrenaline and you're frozen. It happens to people.

Remember, his parents never returned, he watched the kind old women die with oozing black fluids flowing from the body, and unintentionally insulted a friend and lost him. To see a cell phone and dial a random number in the contacts wouldn't be really considered unusual for someone so desparate and so alone like he was. He was tired and hungry too. Why would you spank him for trying to reach anyone to talk to?

@bladerj Personally, I feel Denzel wasn't tossed in. True he came later, but that's just how the timeline goes for all the people Cloud meets or anyone. Some come early and others come later.

Sometimes someone you meet was the best part of your life ever and other times it wasn't. That's true for many things. It was the best or the worst or somewhere between. I think Denzel joining the family was a good thing for Cloud. Denzel believed in Cloud as many others did. That's what helped Cloud alot.
