  • When will great female singers realize that they always sound best when they sing and they have a band of badass musicians backing them? I need to hear the Trip-hop (not hip-hop) synth guys behind her.

  • Where to find this version in a higher quality? I mean, the sound really sucks :(

  • Mmmmmm sunrise music.. Take me somewhere we can be alone.. Make me somewhere I can call a home because lately I've been losing on my own.

  • Just when I think the world is nothing is a pit of incompetent, insolent, corrupt SOB's soaked in mediocrity with not a shred of talent, here comes this sweet face, sweet voice giving me hope that maybe the world's not a toilet after all!

  • She has a vocal purity just like Joni Mitchell.

  • ban 240p

  • great song, great performance by Tina.

  • amazing :D

  • love your vocals more than your vista - awesome vocals - this is real music

  • She appears to be cold and I would gladly warm her :) She is remarkable.

  • shes an amazing musician.

    fuck gaga, rihanna, etc....

  • i love her accent

  • BIG

  • very lovely

  • Oh my goodness. This is proof that live music is not dead. She destroys about 99% of live female vocalists. Her vocal sounds just like the recording. This can't be real.

  • Tina D. is definitely an angel.

  • ;( wonderful ..

  • A brilliant song, co-written by my father! And a stunning performance from Tina, as usual.

  • 13 romans

  • just look at her play, shes enjoying it, she feels the music , shes amazing!!

  • Omg this is Fantastic! I was listening to this just now under the stars in the middle of a hot summer night.. =)

  • Dammit Dammit Dammit, this is good. Why do they play Lady Gaga on the radio instead of this...

  • Look at my cover from Zero 7 - warm sound! myspace: jorgebecerramusic

  • how the hell can anyone dislike this song??? This chick's voice is absolutely amazing!

  • There is something that makes me remember to Joni Mitchell...

  • Right. Fantastic voice. She was also incredibly cute here.

  • I thought I struck gold 2 years ago when I first came upon this lovely woman. and I still believe she is the best independent female singer/songwriter in the world. bar none!

  • am I the only one that feels like a genius for opening this in two tabs, muting one, playing both and put the video in sync with the audio?

  • this actually makes me cry,its perfect.

  • WOW!!!!

  • Very good x

  • HURRAY for KCRW! Best radio station in L.A.

  • 11 people without ears.

  • Wow, beautiful voice and song, nice job!

  • Mee likey was on backin vocals u know

  • Stubb's in Austin Feb 5 /11 yeah baby! Love that voice

  • How the hell could you dislike this?

  • 11 deaf people saw this video.

  • @Primz83 Uhuh! I agree!

  • You sound like Joni Mitchell in her prime. I mean that in the best way.

  • @luelyron Joni is a legend. This woman comes pretty damn close. Id say about a 9 on the 10 scale.

  • She is adorable, especially when she smiles and bites her lower lip, like an 8-year old with a new toy. I love her with Zero 7.

  • Wonderful

  • Amazing voice! An amazing talent....

  • "Can anyone tell me what alternate tuning her guitar is in here? Is it open G??? Thanks" Gorgeous, beautiful song.

  • @letmusicfillyoursoul I figured it out now! You can hear the tuning in the beginning of the song: DADGAD Chords are: 000230 (intro chord) 5x5050 3x3030 2x2020 later on she does 000230 x1333x 5x5050 3x3030 I don't know what the chords are called but this should work right ;) I think you can fill in the blanks yourself
  • @janrienk Thank you very much for your input. I appreciate it.

  • Anyone got the correct tabs and tuning?

  • Fuck me she is awesome!!!

  • Gosh! Not only are the lyrics seductive but so is her voice! How can you not fall in love with that voice? =D. Makes me wish I could sing but unfortunately, I can't. I only write and draw.

If you have a girlfriend who can sing like that, man, always love her! :-)

  • ANGEL. 3:22 She liked the guy :)

  • She would work very well with Opeth's softer sounding songs. Just my opinion. She is fabulous!

  • love her

  • fizzgigify - This song appears on the Zero 7 album called "When it falls". the song is called "home".

  • Det smukkeste menneske ever!

  • is zero 7 the name of the song? any relation to the trip hop band zero 7? just discovered either of these people like five minutes ago, so I know nothing :P

  • @fizzgigify Zero 7 is a band. She sings in that band, along with Sia Furler, and other guests. The name of this song is Home.

  • Beautiful voice, but... does she think that her mothertongue is english ?! "Dickow was born in Aabyhøj near Aarhus, Denmark" (< Wikipedia)

  • two things:1.) Watch her seeing things in the room around her as she sings; things you and I will never see.

2.) By the "You alright?", the radio host gives her at the end, he is totally unaware that he was just in the room as one of the greatest musical moments in mankind's history was presented before him.

  • @ExploratoryMusic

    1) It's a concentration musicians get when they are in 'the zone' No need to be pretentious with psychoanalytical garbage. Music [art] is actually quite a simple expression for people with a passion in their hearts for it. This whole "seeing things in the room around her as she sings" is subjectivity in its finest since you cannot know at all what is going on in her head as she sings and plays.

  • @dillinjaesc I meant it with all respect. I'm certain she's one of the few that really see what flows around her as she concentrates. Watch her face, and then watch Philip Glass you'll see the same thing. This is the finest of moments by one of the finest musicians.

  • @ExploratoryMusic I know exactly what you mean. It is something special to see that level of emotional connection to what she is singing and playing ... and how it changes in relation to each moment in the song.

  • @TonsofFun777 Thank you! I have watched this every time I sit with someone new on youtube in my steps of showing them the songs that mean the most to me, the ones, I feel, they must see, and this has consistently blown me away, time and time again. A musical moment of such purity, I think its true magnificence is overlooked.

  • Does anyone know what guitar is she playing? Takamine something?

  • @bl00mberry Looks like a Gibson

  • indeed....................the most beautiful:)

  • wow dont know why i really dont know anyone who has heard this group

  • thank U

  • the soul in this girl's voice pulls tears out of me...lovely, just lovely....

  • thanks for the tuning but what are the chords?

  • her guitar sounds really good

  • She has a Joni Mitchell-like sound to her. That's a good thing.

  • I love how she smiles while she sings. :)

  • aamazingamazingamazingmazingamazingamazingamazingamazingamazingamazingamazingamazing

  • such an amazing voice, seriously. like a beautifully untouched green field somewhere up in the hills of mother nature..

  • I simply got lost in her voice.

  • she's got nice hair. =]

  • what are the chords?

  • @dolunaydainsanolan - Open D tuning - D, G, F, E more or less. Beautiful song.

  • simply beautiful!!

  • LOVE TINA!!!

  • She could quite possible have the most

    b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l voice I've ever heard!

  • @mfdoomer then you probably never listened carefully to sia.

  • Ordinarily, one would not use the words, "folk" and "soulful" in the same musical description, but this artist breaks that mold.

She is beautiful and her voice is beautifully haunting. Wow, my knees get weak,,,,,,,,,

  • i agree!

  • Beautiful. Bravo.

  • you are miming....

  • dont be so stupid, the video is just out sync.

Did you get my comment ?

    later..

  • Please watch Tina Dico sing HOME with the band Zero7 and you'll dismay!

The sound is totally different and the vocal performance is really worth it! DIVINE!

  • That lip bite at 1:50 gets me every time.

  • Love this song. And love it that this song probably originated from her acoustic guitar!

Just for the record, her guitar is tuned:

    DADGAD

And to play it, this is how it goes:

    2nd fret [0-0-0-1-0-0]

    5th fret [1-x-1-0-1-0]

    3rd fret [1-x-1-0-1-0]

    2nd fret [1-x-1-0-1-0]

For the refrain, all she does is pluck the melody.

Gorgeous song, simple but feels great.

  • Aloha!

Thank you Akilah for the hints on the guitar fret! I'll try it with pleasure. It sounds just great!

It felt to my ears it wasn't a regular tuning, and I'm glad it didn't spell BAGDAD "°=))

    Peace!

  • Another detail of this song... when she finishes the refrain:

"'cause lately I've been losing on my o---own"

    from "own", she plays

    2nd fret [0-0-0-1-0-0]

1st fret [1-1-1-1-1-1] (just bar it, you can see her doing that)

    5th fret [1-x-1-0-1-0]

    3rd fret [1-x-1-0-1-0]

    2nd fret [0-0-0-1-0-0]

    Cheers jax :)

    Aki

  • That is just great, Aki!

Thanks a lot for posting this accurate guitar sequence.

I haven't tried yet for I have to change the strings on my guitar, but I bet i'll be able to sing along with our Fair Muse!

  • Absolutely amazing! I love it. Thanks for the posting!

  • voice is way too awesome, like wtf.....

  • gives me the chills

    amazing

  • What´s great about it is the smile she lets out after the 2nd time she sings: "Take me somewhere we can be alone"

And afterwards she is biting her lip and get that look in her eyes ;)

She is definetively remembering the guy (or girl) that inspired the song (L)

  • "take me somewhere we can be alone"

    Just Beautiful

  • flawless

  • definitely my fav video, especially her laugh at the end...such an intense song, it makes me want to cry

  • nice voice.

    not so nice guitar...

  • its easier to play it in standard tunning tho ! a g f e

thats what she is playing in this video!d7 g .d7 g. .... just look it up on a chord website

  • its standard tunning !! u will hear if its drop d?

  • It's open D: DADF#AD

  • Beautiful voice, beautiful woman, beautiful song.

  • God I love this.

  • I concur, what a beautiful voice. <3

  • just fabulous

  • I wish some one had accurate tabs for this,

  • Wow...Wow...Wow...Awesome, a superb pastiche to the wonderful Zero 7. Good going girl.

  • Wow...That is by far the best cover i have ever heard.. Amazing!!

  • I'd take you home.

  • LOL so would i

  • yeah me too^^ but man... what a wonderful voice.. i think im in love^^

  • she has one of the most unique and lovely voices i have ever heard in my life. this is unbelievably beautiful. good LORD. breathtaking.

  • Amazing composure and compostion!

  • Utterly stunning in every aspect. Tina Dico is angelic.

  • Nice!

  • She s always brillant with the acoustic versions of her songs but the thing about this video is that i really do wonder why she almost can t help herself laughing, i d like to know it. Notice that even though she obviously wants to laugh she s yet performing really good. That s Tina.

  • Some people seem to have a "musical' emotion when they sing. Mnay singers have to fight back tears when they sing (me) some get enraged, others get turned on. I guess the gift of song goes into deep parts of the brain and soul.....I guess?

  • like mona fucking lisa:P

  • its just because she has difficulty with the picking in the chorus...

  • that she laughs I mean...

  • Yeah i was blind. finally i understand why she was laughing it s indeed because at the end when she sings the word "home" she adds a little unnecessary sound. Kinda cute.
