I really believe that the microphone had bad pickup, some of the stuff he was doing just doesn't transfer well if you don't have a great set up. esecially that thing at the end.
man listen karl denson is sad im sorry. he does groove however. you see him playing with some great musicians and they make him sound better, but can this dude play a ballad?! he is always playing hard as shit with no feeling really just balls to the wall all the time.
