  • Takes me back. Love it.

  • To My Soul Mate - we were young and running against the wind....now we're older w/ a lot more at stake - children, health, and oh so much more....but you're still running against the wind. When are you going to find your bottom, give it up, & REALLY see....? Living life the way you see it is one thing, but when it costs you your son, your best friend... your freedom and maybe your life, isn't it time to start trying it someone else's way? You DO know now what you didn't know then..I'll miss u.

  • Beautiful song !!

  • It is currently 4:41 clock at night in Germany - I drink another glass of red wine and listen to this, the Greatest Hits by Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band - and again kidnap me songs like this that lead me away from this world, the so full of pain and anguish. "Turn the page", "Against the Wind", "Still the same," "Hollywood Nights," "Like a Rock", "Main Street", "The Fire Inside" and so on ... what this man has for great music in the repertoire! Thank you so much for posting from Germany!

  • I turned 50 this year, & for the last 35 years I've wished this man would run against the wind & come to Australia..... HE is the one man that I would love to see before I die... You name the best & most popular mainstream artists of my time and I HAVE SEEN THEM ALL and most of them more than once........

  • Thank God" Big Guy" ,that he gave me the ability to not only hear!! But also to listen My hero! Summer from 19?..? Thank you for so many things, "let the cowboys ride", My history is mine! You are a legend! Thaank you for sharing your life with me!! By the way, your"touch of grey". makes it all real!! And, you would love to see me strut" same age ,but no grey hair in my head, hubby of 31 yrs would probably differ!. We grew together, all of us!!!

  • @adamdroi '

    'bless''

  • I can't think of any musical performer more likable than Bob Seger.

  • I agree with comment above - this song sounds even more poignant through the elder voice of Mr. Seger.

  • this man is my hero.

  • Awesome

  • awesome video!!!!

  • Bob Seager!! STILL the same..sounds the same,.,,,PRICELESS!!! Thanks for posting

  • Bob looks just like my science teacher.

  • It used to be "Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band"........now it looks more like "Bob Seger & the Silver Haired Band".......

Still great music though! Go on going Bob!

  • @PawtucketPatriot66 Sounds like you forgot to take your meds again.LOL

  • Well let's see if I'm elibible to post on this board. Survivied 4 heart surgeries (1st when I was 3 days old) spent the 1st 6 weeks of my life in the hospitial, just got to go back to working the graveyard at a radio station after being out nearly 4 months after a serious car wreck that should've killed me. Broke my right arm in 5 places, broke right tibila, fibila, femur, heel, ankle, bruised lungs and cut my head open. God's been on my side. 24 years old and still runnin' against the wind.

  • @MrBigrobmjca3

You gotta have some better luck in life. But take care..... and keep rolling on

  • @MrBigrobmjca3 Wow. I'm 24 as well, so reading about what you've gone and are going through really made me shift my thinking 180*, I'm sitting here stressing out over stupid little stuff that's going on in my life when really I should just be grateful for my good health and physical condition! Speedy recovery to you man and good vibes your way!

  • @speedingpenguin Thanks buddy. It's much better now. I'm walking and driving again. My heart disease has been under control and hasn't skipped a beat since I was 11. I've just had a few hurdles but I know people who have been through so much more than I have. But as Charlie Rich says, I just keep on rollin' with the flow.

  • Just back from seeing Bob in Sunrise Fl. LEGENDARY barely describes him, and he's part of our youth and growing up. yes, we're older now, but still running against the wind. What a show! Thank you Bob!!

  • @bofriend: THANK YOU for taking the time to post the great videos! The video and audio are great given the circumstances. Thank you for posting them for those of us who are unable to see one of the greatest Rock & Roll legends of all time. I have been listening to Bob Seger for 35 years and own just about everyone of his records. When I got divorced, I gave the ex all of the other cds & records we had ... but I kept Bob! Thanks again for the videos and THANK YOU BOB SEGER for all the great music

  • Awesome footage, the real seger up close & personal, What kinda of device did you use ??

  • wonderful video, love Bob no matter how old. Thank you

  • Love Bob!!!!!

  • seen him in concert last night!!!

  • bob seger rules. just did a english music lesson in japan with his music. glad to see he's still performing. smile.

  • Wow! I never thought he would go public again, he once said he won't tour again cos he couldn't perform as well as he used to. Well he aint lost a thing. Tour again please Bob, if not record again, I have missed your incredible voice and talent.

  • @cygnus53 Yes I remember the Mud Hens from Klinger on M.A.S.H.! That bring's back great memories,Thanx!

  • Bob Segar defines American music at its finest. Simply amazing.

  • I saw jersey Bob's wearing and I just have to know if the Toledo Mud Hens are a real baseball team!

  • @spider62able Yes they are a real team. If you remember watching M.A.S.H., they were corporal Klinger's favorite team.

  • the really beautiful thing about this is that unlike a lot of veterans in music he keeps the proper pace of the song rather than rushing it like he's in a hurry to get out of there

  • Wow, wish I hadn't seen this. Don't get me wrong, I love the man. But I hope I die before I get old.

  • @atomicpunk48 anytime you're ready, child; i'm waiting

  • @atomicpunk48 That's what you say now.....give it a decade or two...if your lucky, and life get's sweeter, you wont think that way...(smile) Never thought I'd see 50...lol

  • Bob, you're still the same. Thank you for that.

  • Thank you for this song Mr Seger. I'm 43yrs old now & your reminising really hits home with this beautiful song. Please come to Australia before retirement..PLEASE! I've had enough of Spandau Ballet reformation tours!!!

  • Boy Toledo got it right with the entire Huntington Block. What a great atmosphere. Although I had plenty of good times at the old Sports Arena I don't miss it. I caught 3 doors, Theory and Pop Evil there last month as well as this show back in March. Fantastic venue. It should attract top artists for the next generations. Well dont Toledo!

  • ... Yeah ... Bob is the last of the real rock 'n' rollers ... my all time favorates ...

  • one of the all time greats, happy new year all SEGER fans ,"""

  • @vanhallnorway Thnx. I just saw him on Dec. 28 @ the Staples Center here in LA. I'm only 19 and I love his music, and he's soon retiring so I absolutely had to see him this time.

  • @5keeper7ful some people have all the luck ,did he have the silver bullet band with him, im 65 and a seger fan for years , great to hear some one aged 19 likes him as well, good taste in music as well. have a happy new year"" hollywood nights is my fav.

  • @vanhallnorway Yes it was him and the entire Silver Bullet Band as usual. It seems this will be their final tour and Bob Seger is working on another album for this year, which could also be the last.

  • a realy great music, from a great man. respect. happy new year all over the world right from bavaria.

  • mAN SEEN HIM ON MY HONEYMOON 1ST ONE,79 HE STILL HAS IT.lIKE A rOCK bOB KEEP ON rOCKIN!!

  • That was killer. Happy New Year!

  • Yes Bob is a Great artist! This tune is especially memorable - wow! Thanks for sharing with all of us this rare and very good video ***)S

  • Awesome saw him in the 70s, he is still great!

  • I don't think that Bob ever got the recognition that he should have. His music has lasted when so many others did not. TRUE genius.. Fell in love with his voice and music when young and still in love at 57.

  • Sure he's older but his voice is still magic! A true Rock Legend that will keep on going and never die!

  • Robert Clark Bob" Seger ! La voz rasposa de Dearborn, Michigan !! .. Genial !! Simplemente, genial!! Gracias por bajar este video.. Por lo visto, a pesar del tiempo su talento no acaba.. !

  • One of the Greatest legends of Rock-N-Roll. Loved and respected him way back when and now. But its so hard to see him aged so much. But I believe we all have as well. Time does that to us. Thank God for youtube and the fact we can have such great memories. That alow us to go back in time to relive those days of youth. Great Job Mr. Bob Seger.

  • This is wonderful. Thanks for posting.

  • Seeing him older now....makes the song twice as powerful...he probably reflects about the people/person who inspired this song even more, now that he is older

  • travis from milling specialties where are you...bob seger historian from alabama

  • Bob , Your the best , you still got "IT", are you single ? :)

  • @RibknockIV DUDE! He is 66. And he rocked out SO PHYSICALLY HARD--just like he ALWAYS has, for 2 hours. This is the first of a couple encore songs wherein he gets a bit more intimate with the crowd, via the acoustic and a stool. Idiot. Chris Cornell is just wrapping up his THIRD entirely sold out solo acoustic shows--where he sits on a stool teh entire show. Are you out of you mind?

  • I love Bob Seger!

  • Quem foi REI, nunca perde a majestade.

    Great BOB.

  • I'm going to see him on December 21'st im really glad he still has that magic voice

  • There will never be another Bob Seger.

  • Excellent video quality for an excellent song.. good job.

  • One dislike? Serious? Somebody doesn't have good taste.

  • @6mgarcia make that two this song was great the first 5,000 times i heard it. Now it makes me sick

  • I know Bob and his family personally and he is just a great guy to be around. Very humble and kind. His wife is an absolute sweetheart and his daughter Sam is a joy.

  • anybody know if he will come to grand rapids, Michigan?

  • Bob, come to Australia. Love your music. Dad used to play your albums to me when i was a baby and i still listen to this day!

  • I agree with all who posted! Boy is it good to see Bob Seger! Good for him!

  • @RibknockIV Why pick on his age. Could have had a strained back or something yet he is stillout there performing for people even in his pain.

  • @dls2666 oh what a martyr! he's out there for the cash and yeah he probably has several problems. Time to call it quits.

  • I want to thank the person who posted this video It's simply wonderful and clear I just hope some how I can one day see him again in concert

  • @MyCarlas1122 You are welcome. I remember tearing up during ATW, thinking how poignant it is now that we are ALL older.

  • @MyCarlas1122... I concur! Bob still has it, though!

  • Danm It's sure good to see Bob still a rocking this song takes me back to 70's when I first heard this song .This song reminds me of my life and roads I have traveled .I once used this Album cover for sign to hitchhike with from Houston to Buffalo NY .And it also fits that I love to windsurf here in N Myrtle Beach SC

  • Thoroughly enjoyed this, thanks for posting this.

  • Thank you Mr. Seger for nearly 45 years or wonderful songs

  • Love, Love, Love!!! I was lucky enough to see him last night at Madison Square Garden NYC .. Pure genius! My fourth time first time 30 years ago!- and I'd go again and again...Oh, and Alto Reed, pure joy!!

  • A True Pillar to Rock & Roll & the entire Music Industry.

  • TERRIFIC.....AWESOME....LOVE IT......

  • I love this!! Thanks!

  • I hope to see this guy in concert soon!!!!

  • BOB SEGER IS THE BEST!!

  • best escape kind of song. just reflecting on commitments and deadlines, and relaxing and remembering our humanity. we are alive, and we have only one life to live. so lets live it filled with love and joy!

  • Son of a bitch!! I just got finished listening to the 1980 live version. Listening to this one now. EXCELLENT!! Unglaublich, Wahnsinn!! I wonder if he will make it to europe!?

  • Would have loved nothing more than to see this balladeer perform at this year's half time show in Detroit on Thanksgiving.

  • Bob's music has been in my home for 30 yrs...Love that man!

  • On the 8th day, God created Robert Clark Seger. I was @ SAME show & spot during this encore song!. Opening 2011. LOOK HOW BEAUTIFULLY FLAWLESS he IS!!. The man is pure genius. Cracks me yup;everyone is disarmed&proclaims he's "such a REGULAR guy!" HA! If so---there's be more like him around. There AINT. BRILLIANT singer, songwriter, performer, and best off all, domesticated, loyal cool cat. Never slags on the integrity and has got to be the BEST friend a person could ever want for.

  • @rnrpeg2 Beautifully stated. There is no other Bob Seger. Nobody does it better.

  • @bofriend THANK YOU so MUCH for sharing this. I swear I must've been standing right NEXT to you! Only for this song, then we took off for front row!! This clip liteally made me CRY when I watched it. I just shared it on my FB page. THANK YOU! This is AWESOME!

  • @bofriend Here's another story, about the 2nd Toledo show...the 70ish couple behind me were P.O.ed i was standing. Right from the GIT I said, "Aint gonna happen. I'm UP. This is BOB SEGER." These hilbillies both GRABBED THE BACK OF MY HAIR AND DRUG ME OVER THE BACK OF MY CHAIR!!! They must've been from some dinky ass town that they have complete control of, because these were people who'd never heard the word NO. It was AWFUL!!! I just lit out for closer ground. No time to deal w/THAT!

  • @rnrpeg2 He embodies the spirit of Detroit and the upper midwest in the truest, best manner.

  • @rnrpeg2 unless your black and try to shake his hand...sry, but I do love the guy.

  • @CyScape Oh Hell! U don't know how UPSETTING this was! 'til I pondered & realized--"NO WAY". Even U know that aint the case--or u wouldn't still dig him. Dude grew up with a single mother & bro, in Ann Arbor, as a 'townie' on the wrong side of the trax. ALL his heros are black. Wilson Pickett/Diddley/ Berry/Aretha/Albert King/Otis Redding/James Brown/Lil Richard/Frankie Lymon/Otis Clay/Lorraine Ellison/Ann Peebles...asked his alltime choice to duet w/, he picked Gladys Knight.

  • @CyScape ...did u maybe bug him in the middle of a Piston's game? LOL Whatever the case--it was NOT due to your blackness. Aint IN the man. Quite the opposite. He was either sick, having a horrid day, or you simply caught him out of sorts in some manner. Maybe Cole just wrecked the car, or something stupid like that. LOL Glad u posted, since u felt slighted in this manner--but it's just NOT TRUE that Seger is in any way, racist. Sorry, indeed! :-)

  • saw him in Dallas...awesome concert! One of the best I've ever attended.

  • Bob Seger é fantástico, e essa música tem uma das melhores letras que eu já conheci.

  • Looks like Bobs playing a Martin DC-16RGTE

    Rock on Fella !

  • Getting old sucks but I'm in good company with people like Bob.

  • Just amazing

  • Comment removed

  • WINNING!!!!

  • I LOVE BOB SEGER HE STILL SOUNDS GREAT AFTER ALL THESE YEARS. GOOD VIDEO

  • The best of the best truly the greatest of the singer/songwriters of our time.

  • I met him once this year backstage. i asked him if i could play his guitar and he asked me what for and i told him i want to play Against the wind so he let me play it. and when i got done playing and singing he said son your the closest to the real seger as your gonna get. i left and i cried so much because he said that :') when he reires after this tour and his life ends his legacy will live on!!

  • This man can do no wrong in my opinion. One of the most amazing artists I've ever heard.

  • awesone artist........

  • There is absolutely nothing more perfect than this song.

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • CHEERS!!!!!!!

  • @DreamsEverlast A man that well deserves... 1000 ovations ...

  • Ernest Hemmingway reincarnated!

  • aww...there go's Bob singing my life again....there go my happy tear again ..

  • Maravilha... momento único... saudades dos ano 70...

  • Probably the most inspirational artist of the 80's

  • 65 here he has been so much power in my life---so glad he's back -know in his young days but his sound is for us all-he welcome back BOB I toataly love your feeling 4 music

  • CLassic, Classic Seger!! What an ICON in rock and roll!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I bought the Against the Wind album around Christmas time in 1980. I loved it so much I bought tickets to see Bob in Pittsburgh in Feb. of 1981. I showed up HOURS early and talked to some of the security people for the Starlake. I asked them if they would take my LP album and get Bob to sign it. After the show I went looking for the guy and he handed me the album, Bob and his entire band has signed it and Bob put the guitar pick he used that night in to sleeve. Great man, awesome entertainer!!!

  • @KLUNKET , Wow! What an awesome story!

  • @bofriend - thanks- I still have the album hanging on the wall in my den. I pull it down every so often to play the record. I now have many signed albums and an entire autograph collection, but Bob was my first signature. I still play records every day, don't even own an Ipod. That either makes me a dinosaur, or "old school"...(lol)

  • Wow that would be awesome...he is the best singer, song writer and performer of ALL TIME!!!!

  • @KLUNKET Now that's something amazing.

  • @KLUNKET - I second that. What a great story man.. That's what life's all about

  • @smackyajack - Thanks! I had the album and the guitar pick framed and it still hangs in my game room. I have had a few offers from people wanting to buy it from me over the years, but the only way that album comes off that wall is when they drag my cold lifeless body away. It just means something really special to me, I can't express how much this music means to me.

  • @KLUNKET Why was starlake open in February?

  • @zguyach1081 - its funny that you asked that cause I was just sitting here thinking about that the other day. I know that the concert was in February, of that there is no doubt, it was COLD and snowy, also I have the date written down on the inner album sleeve. But, upon refelction I remembered that the starlake was an open arena. I sure wish I still had the ticket stub from that show. I know that the concert was in Pittsburgh. It was PACKED and there was a TON of security there...

  • @KLUNKET pure class!! Great story man!!

  • @KLUNKET Hey man, great story. Hey, I think I might have been at the show your speaking of. I lived in Pittsburgh back in those days. He would come to Pittsburgh I would guess once every other year. Always great, always. The great ones like him remember and appreciate their fans. Sticking the pick in the sleeve of that album was a simple gesture on his part, but meant the entire world to you I would guess.

  • @KLUNKET Wow your a lucky guy, and BOBs amazing , kick on , rock it over, BOB.

  • Thank you so very much for sharing this. I heard him for the first time in -81 and I just can`t stop loving his music.

  • Thank You for sharing this greatness!!

  • At that time...the cover of that lp was something t obeleive in...

All business man and moneymakers and lawyers will assure you: never leave that track , once you found it , a track that wants t onever besomething like "a track" : against the wind! If i nthis lifetime you arenobody, thenwhen? and what frustrated badass actions will your frustration lead you to undertake?

  • amazing guy
