  • wait... blunt axes attached to anvils and falling at high speed will dent my bike?... oh thank god they built armor!..WHEW...

  • :32 - :38 made me laugh out loud

  • if theres cosmetic damage, well that means itsa not as good as new!

  • stupid 1st he used 0 degrees carbon direction...ofcourse its going to crack cos its only the resin matrix that is taking the force.

secondly on the third test the stress is NOT only cosmetics, there are micro cracks and they increase by time.

its the wrong type of resin they used pluse its the wrong laminate direction combinations to use

  • Is that Scotty from the Enterprise at 2:28?

  • yes. the small dent in the aluminum frame rendered it unrideable. sounds legit to me. also, apparently rocks fly upward from trails with the strength of highspeed anvils.

  • @mattprit Go stand on an empty coke can. You can, because it's a cylinder.

Now put a dent in the side and try.

Thanks for playing The Game of Physics.

  • @JonasTheSniper this is thicker than an aluminum can, and this is not the same concept. the can stays strong under compression. that bar is not a vertical bar. it is horizontal and infront of the seat. it would face almost no compressing force. you've obviously never owned an aluminum bike.

  • Conclusion: all bikes should have that piece of rubber on their downtube, whether carbon or aluminium and everything else is irrelevant :-)

  • that sound when the rocks bounce off of the carbon armor made me laugh

  • @BraveSirRobin21

That is so funny, I only scrolled down in the comments so I could post the same thing.

Classic, either great minds thing alike or retards laugh at the same simplistic nonsense.

I'm a retired biology professor so I'd have to conceed the former is more likely.

  • So...when are you kids going to make an OCLV AM 29er bike? That's what I need. :-)

  • @chiasma72 29ers sucks ...

  • @vasgeorge Your comment is not worthy of further response.

  • @chiasma72 you have no idea about bikes , so shut your stupid mouth up. kissesss

  • @vasgeorge Thanks for amplifying my point even further.

  • @chiasma72 no problem you idiot.

  • This is way more scientific than the trail/shock testing.
