@JayCMinus a 350z would easily run a stock GT... and if its an HR z it should be able to hold its own with a mach 1. They both have the same HP Mach1 305 vs 350z 308.. no difference. the stang has more torque but it weighs a couple hundred pounds more than the Z.. its really a driver's race...

@333hpinline6 the issue between comparing the mach 1 to the hr z is that the mach 1 is an underrated car. comparing base line numbers to the hr z does no good in this category. the mach 1 pulls harder than 07/08 350z's. dyno test prove mach 1's are underrated. since ford messed up with the non supercharged cobra and overatted it, they decided to underrate the terminator and the mach 1.

Not to mention nissan did their homework and changed over 70% of tha parts used in tha hr. It's gonna be one of two things of why ur friend is losing in tha hr. The engine in the 07-08 350z's has the same bore and stroke as the older ones, but that's about it. It is 80% new. Higher compression ratio, dual-intakes and throttle-bodies, different cams, different ECU programming. There are tons of differences.. That's why they gave it a different engine code (03-06 is the VQ35DE, 07-08 is the VQ35HR). The displacement is about the only thing that's the same.
The SAE rating system changed between 05-07 (car manufacturers didn't HAVE to re-rate and publish their "new" power numbers until the 07 model). Some cars gained alot of power in the ratings, while some lost power. There was actually no loss in torque from the earlier 350z's to the 07-0 models, as dyno testing has shown the later ones actually put MORE torque to the wheels. The lower rating can be attributed to the SAE rating system change for the 07-08 models.
Hey, don't blame it on me, look it up. Must be alot of people are smoking something because the runs are documented. I'd link you to it but youtube doesn't allow it. Also, Nissan's stated weight for the 350z is wrong. I put my car (07 touring 6-speed) on the scale at San Antonio Raceway with me in it (205 lbs), and it weighed 3350lbs. Also, the car makes 306hp under the new SAE rating system, which is about 315-320hp under the old rating system.
The 4V engine in a Mach has wayyy more top end than the 2V GT or the 350z. I'd love to know how bad that Mach spun from a dig, or what gear he missed. The day a 350z runs a low 13 stock is the day its faster than a Mach 1. The GT and the 350 are a drivers race.
Look up the stock records for the 07-08 350z (HR engine). That engine has much more top-end power than the VQ35DE in the 03-06 350z's. I totally agree that a Mach 1 is significantly faster than an 03-06 350z, but not an 07-08. They regularly trap at 105-107mph, and the stock record is a 13.15.
I suspect that the 370z is capable of a faster pass than the HR 350z's with the right driver. The problem is that the 370 hasn't been out long enough for people to get the best times out of them yet. The magazines only got 13.6 and 13.7's out of the HR 350z's, but they have run 13.15- 13.2's many times with the right driver. I bet the same will prove true of the 370z. Magazines get 13.3 out of it, but i can really run a 13-flat or a 12.9 with the right driver/conditions.
That was a good race with the Mach. What were the mods, if any to the Z and the Mach? I'm not hating on this video I'm sure it's legit, but in my personal experience I've not yet lost to a mostly stock 350Z in my Mach 1. Even when my Mach 1 was stock I still walked them on the highway. Actually it was the top end when my Mach really walked away. The Z's top end is hurt by there aggressive gearing. Stock for stock from a dig the Mach should win but it's driver dependent.

@getowned41 Mach 1 is rated at 305 hp/320 lb-ft from the factory at the crank. Dyno runs typically show right around 265 hp/290 lb-ft of torque at the wheels completely stock. Pushing a car around that weighs in the neighborhood of 3400 lbs, it makes for a decently quick pony car. I know, I own an '04 model, and I have fun with her every time we get out on the road :-D

@killswitchracing Apparently the 370Z that I beat in my Lincoln three weeks ago needed a driver mod. I gave him a 50 roll and he lost. It felt good. I wish I could've been in your race. You'd be surprised. ;-)

@killswitchracing Your a moron..... NO year 350z will run with a 03-04 mach buddy. There completely different engines then a gt engine nerbox. Its a dohc... not a sohc. Big big difference in top end.

@killswitchracing i raced my buddys stock 350 and my 01 gt with minor bolts ons and it was close but i beat him and i raced a mach 1 and it killed me this is 100 percent fake no way a mach one would be that close one race and the next lose by 5 lengths. the mach one has a cobra motor in it which is what 325hp? and its lighter im calling BS unless that 350 is turboed

@getowned41 Mach 1 is rated at 305 hp/320 lb-ft from the factory at the crank. Dyno runs typically show right around 265 hp/290 lb-ft of torque at the wheels completely stock. Pushing a car around that weighs in the neighborhood of 3400 lbs, it makes for a decently quick pony car. I know, I own an '04 model, and I have fun with her every time we get out on the road :-D

@gbranton yea ur right bro, i believe there real vids but shitty drivers. my gfriends z with testpipes plenum spacer catback nd nismo intake with a tune by jesse at powersports gets raped by my almost stock gt. also my gt gets raped by a mach 1. those mach 1s keep with my 02 z28 off digs but get fucked on rolls because my long ass t56 gears.

I agree I have a 2001 cobra when it was stock I ate the crap out of these Fatlady Z'S top end botom end. The 4v mod v8 has more tq down low and more hp up top. Its lighter and lower gears.
