Best breed of dogs ever. We have 3 Podenco Ibicenco's and i couldnt imagine life without a Podenco Ibicenco!

I had this dog it was amazing from very young age it was very dynamic and it adopted family environment very well like a new member throughout its life of 14 years. It also sometime hunts cat small pigs, and some goats from near society we have to make payment for that :P. But the dog was awesome....

All my cats have been caught by them at some time, sometimes 2 or 3 times. they severely injure them, but cats bite back and run, even with broken bones,to escape. they come home missing skin, tails and eyes, but repair and live. Chickens are killed quickly and easily. The dogs will kill all chickens available.

The question with the cats....podencos are like every other breed- some like cats, other don't. My podenco loves our cat, but I also know some which don't.
It's your task to accustom your podenco to your cat.

I have one, it's really tuff to control it in a neighborhood park when it sees a bird. The dog immediately attemps to run behind it... When we unleash it it runs so incredibly quickly... it's amazing.

How are they around other animals-does your dog like cats? I have a cat, we are adopting a Podenco, and I am curious because I don´t want the dog to attack our cat.

@frauregner Sometimes, depends on how much prey drive they have. Our Podenco's eat cats ;) Most Podenco's i know are terrible around cats, it triggers their preydrive :)
