Green 50mW laser in the dark

if you seriously have a 50mW you're retarded you are going to blind your dogs eyes if you accidentally point it at its eye

even for a split second, the beam will burn the retinas and there will be a huge dark circle in its eye or eyes

@oskarfisk006 that makes it LESS dangerous. a 100mw red-infrared laser might have a very weak dot/beam making you think its weak and safe while ur eyes are burned by the invisible infrared :)

green beam is 60 times stronger than the red one i dont know if it means it goes further or just is more visible or burns easier but that is what is stated from the companies themselves.

yes visible beam means you can see it further

at 50mw for green laser you could see it from 2.5miles away! 12 thousand something feet.

at 200mw you could probably see it from 8 miles away

Yup you can get blinded.

I ordered true 50 from dealextreme and it left a black spot on my eye where ever i look ,but from now on i wear safety glasses.

I recommend buying ones trust me.

It lasts for 1-2 weeks if your lucky but for me it didn't go away.

Buy any type of safety glasses.

I have a very small one. It isnt a black spot, its a very small spot that sort of blends into the background. Its sorta about 2mm by 2mm. Luvkly the laser was de-foucused (That laser). Its on my left eye. You cant notise it without closing the right eye and trying to read small words.

I bought exactly the same laser as you, it is so awesome but, as you say, dangerous. Always wear eye protection and never point it at another person, animal or flammable material.

I want to stress the flammable material thing too.. my 100mW green laser blew up a black lighter the other day and I once made it burn a hole through some discarded fireworks packaging.. it could have lit up some crazy shit if it had not been empty.

Think you guys are taking hugh risks. I read a 50mw laser just shining on a white wall and view it will cause eye damage. You guys are not taking safety measures by wear special laser glasses to protect your eyes.

umm, it just makes little blurry lines.Its like looking at the sun. So looking at it on a bright surface can be unvomfortable.
