The Mongol period in China was considered a disaster. China sufferred an economic decline, which of course led to the inevitable rebellion by the hungry peasantry. The Might Yuan founded by Genghiz Khan was overthrown and their capital Katrakorum destroyed by a the army of a once beggar vagrant called Zhu Yuan Zhang. Genghiz Khan probably rolled in his grave.

Not really, the Xianbei were nomadic, till they entered China proper, they sinicized and became Chinese. That's what China can do to you. The Xiong Nu, Xianbei, Shatuo Turks, Khitans, even the Yuan Mongoils and Manchus, were all sinicized.

No No. I've read various Chinese history books not translated but original. All those history books say to me that Xianbei was a semi-nomadic tribes.

Xianbei was never semi-nomadic. They probably were when they were in China proper, certainly not when they were still in Eatsern Mongolia and Manchuria. After over 100 years in China, Xianbei became sedentary and adopted Chinese culture full scale, even adopting Chinese dress and names. Most of the Chinese people in Northern Shanxi are descendants of the Xianbei. Same goes for the Manchus, they became more Chinese than the Hans. The Cheong Sam and pigtails were all Manchu in origin.

some communist chinese still think china was a nation during yuan period.but it was actually under mongol rule.tibet and mongolia had Cho-yon(preist-patron) relationship..we tibetans offered our loyalty to our mongol brothers and they gave us protection.we also had cho-yon relations with the manchus..the last real chinese dynasty was before 1279..im just stating facts brothers.hum

the way i and many others see it, the 4 "ethnic minorities" of current china, who were different nations all together and have been forcefully annexed to china, are not chinese.these four are the manchus,mongols,uighurs and tibetans.why else would sun yat sen and the chinese people rebel against their manchu leaders?sun yat sen called them "northern barbarians".the chinese saw northern asians as barbarians.

There are 56 ethnic groups in China. All these annexed areas were in fact part of China, even Obama agrees. LOL! Sun just used a convenient excuse against the Manchus.
