yes very creative.. I really liked this.. very good story.. reminds my of 'Franklin' thats what brought me here.. good discovery..regards ichingiching
@ichingiching Thanks Mike, Yes, I loved your rendition of Lord Franklin. I think there’s something of ourselves to be seen in the tragic lives of these explorers.
There's something so haunting about your music. I feel it in my eyes and throat, in my mind and in my heart. It's hard for me to properly explain. I want for myself something so meaningful and in your storytelling, imagery, and voice, there's a life that calls to me that I do not know.
@JeremiahStarling I cant’ tell you how much I appreciate that comment. Seriously, it makes it all worthwhile. I think all artists feel a compulsion to do what they do and, by and large, it all gets scattered to the wind. But if the music can touch someone.. well, that’s what it’s all about. -Karl.
Interesting style of music, I like this very much. No one else on Youtube has anything like this, that I am aware of. Keep up the creative flow, can't wait to see what else you may bring. Thank you for sharing your body of work with us.
"Last Voyage" was much enjoyed. Thank you for setting the sails of discovery in the hearts of growing songwriters :-) You write these amazing sagas of songs that fuse classical music and that big heavy rocky sound we don't hear enough these days.
Mary, your thoughtful comment made my day. I really appreciate your feedback – and I enjoy your work exceedingly. Interesting observation you made. The stuff I used to do (a generation ago) was hard–core classical rock. I didn't know that flavor was still coming through in my mix -but obviously, it is. I’m thinking now maybe I should resurrect some of my old Bach-meets-Hendrix tunes - we'll see. Have a wonderful weekend, my friend. - Karl
@pseudosun I really appreciate the feedback. Thanks my friend. As I've said before, all your songs have a really great sound, well-mixed with the bright guitar -very pleasing. Spring is here, I look forward to your next song. - Karl.
This was really great, a very unique and excellent work. I hear so such expertise in what you do but there is also a great deal of heart in it as well, which takes it all to a much higher level. Let me know when your stuff is available on iTunes.
@rhopen Thanks Ron. This really was experimental in a couple ways. Its got a few measures of 7/4 then 5/4. I was wondering if people would dig it at all. I really put a good deal of stock in the feedback I get and your kind words are very much appreciated. Karl.
Fantastic! I've been waiting for a follow up to "In the Middle of the Ocean / Lullaby of the Sea" and the wait was worth it! What the song says on the surface is deep and I could be wrong but it seems there is even more depth for those with eyes to see and ears to hear.
@rbheiss Hey thanks Rolland for this nice encouragement. It keeps me going. Yeah, I've always thought there was something universal about Henry Hudson's last voyage. I just couldn't help inserting the Biblical references. Have a great weekend my Friend.
Wow Karl My Friend you are an Awesome writer and Performer another Great Song that Deserves more than just a Thumbs Up i Hope this Album Takes of Big time in fact i'm sure it will All the Best to you
Great song Karl. You should do one about the Monongahela. The crew of the Monongahela had just slayed a sea dragon and were bringing its head back to port but it sank before it made it home.
@thechessstick Thanks my friend. That is a good idea for a song. Maybe I'll write it from the perspective of the poor endangered species of eel the humans so mercilessly attacked. - Joking, of course. Have a wonderful weekend.
Love it, Karl.....I love your lyrics....your song is like a historical journal.....yet, it probes the interior of the soul too. Love the music and your vocals too....very well produced. A big thumbs up to ya. :)
@onewomanandsomesongs Thanks Janet for the kind encouragement.. I was always fascinated with the story of Henry Hudson -thought there was a song in there somewhere.
Great work Karl one of the most creative and captivating songs that I have heard for a very long time .
