Maybe I'm overlooking something obvious, but why does the bottom of a TBH taper in at the bottom? I'm looking to make my own TBH soon and all the hives I have seen have this same pattern.
@ldsquigley the slanted wall makes the bees think is is a floor, and bees don't build comb to a floor. Thus, you will have less bridge/burr comb going to the walls.
