Hmm! Using the pickaxe just to scare the guards is great, I always used it to stun them but that's sort of a waste. You didn't do it here, but you can drop money bags down ladder shafts and stun guards. If you drop a bag on the sloped areas, it will roll down the hill and stun any guards. It was such an epiphany when I first learned you could ride in the mine carts!
Nice.... You showed me two things I never knew. I didn't know you could put down the axe and re-use it. Also I didn't know you could pick up bags while on the cart.
I got to the last bag and hit a guard but he got back up and killed me.I completely forgot about just chasing him.I should complete no problem now, thanks.
it was more than 20 years I had played it for the last time and I spent a couple of hours to pass firts level; the amazing thing is that I almost remembered every path after all that time...
@Luca24888 :I was about 19 y/o in the USAF when this game was introduced to me and my good friend Moe.PPL were dominating MsPacman etc. We got onto this game early spending HOURS(not to mention quarters) so that we could have a game to dominate which we did, after awhile 100,000 + were regular scores. Its just funny how some of my techniques came back to me after 25 + years.Challenging but fun once you get the hang of it
@JJJanez : Even though I havent played this in over 20+ years you reminded me of some of my techniques. You played similiar to how I played (like skipping the 2nd board and going to the 3rd).I didnt see you leave the wheelbarrow near the elevator(I used to like to just drop bags and get back on). Also I used to use the bags as a weapon(if the guard is chasing you on the incline, you can drop the bag and it slides down knocking him cold temporarily).Thanx 4 memories.I'm cheesing rite now :-D

I always thought they made this game too difficult. God knows I tried to finish the first level, I never did. Congrats!

What in freak's name is the Bagman saying?
Say, wasn't the music (in the coin-op version) different?

@johnnywitchburner
When he puts the money bags on the wheelbarrow he says something like "My work", this is coherent with the comic on the flyer:
flyers (dot) arcade-museum (dot) com/?page=flyer&db=videodb&id=92&image=1
The music should be the same of the coin-up.

Took me one day to get the first level done. Very hard game. How about showing us level two done? I am gonna try :)

Well, in the second level (and even the next levels) the maze is the same, so it's a little repetitive to show it.
There are three difference:
- The wardens are fast since the beginning.
- The bags are in different places.
- The wheelbarrow is in a random position.
This means it is very hard. I saw the third level only once.

Very nice that u managed to get to level 3..
I am like developing a good route for level 1, but only 1 little mistake and it doesnt work. I wonder if the McCloskey record is real...

Holy cats!! I didn't think it was possible. 0_0
Well, congratulations on completing this screen and thank you for letting us see the intermission. ^_^
I get the feeling that this classic will gain a few more players (if not a modern remake).

Well, it is very possible.
Some guys can play for hours and make a multi-millions scores.
The official record for this game is 6,840,850 points by Jerry McCloskey on August 2, 1983.
