if anybody is confused READ THE COMIC and for all people who say this is a gears rip off, this series started in late 90's so go suck it! this isnt gears of war for a couple reasons. 1. the main protagonist isnt a giant beefcake guy who runs around with abunch of other beefcake guys. 2. the protagonist and his grandfather were rebels that fought the EDF (earth defense force) and when they finished, they found out aliens or something was underground. if anyone can, please send me a comment back

Actually, for some reason that those alien are come from outer-space not on Mars it own it say after previous Red Faction suddenly a Giant life-form Mentor crash into Mars and wipe-out everything in the blink of an eye the survivor including Alec Mason start the life in underground and blah blah blah..... AH ~ so confusing don't know what to say I can really tell that this game story is very very weak.

I doubt they are trying to copy Gears of War...that idea is moronic. However, to say that one company is completely off the case in regards to having similar ideas because they came out with their game first is just as stupid. Besides, this is a very different direction. Volition had no aliens, if I recall correctly, in any previous RF games.

@sheastrouddavies Surely, and I haven't played RF ages ago, but as you can see around 1:08 there IS a Marker, from Dead Space in this game, or such a close imitation, that anyone, who played DS would think, that this is a crossover with it. Also notice, the effects around the title card. Those are very much Dead Space-ish too. And what about the suit with blue glowing visor from the E3 trailer? Those are de facto DS trademarks.

I actually find this a very interesting direction for this series to take - it's completely new to the series, and it will be interesting to see what they can bring to the fore by combining the destruction-based weapon arsenal with big squishy aliens - and while a lot of people say it looks like dead space, you forget that it is NOT dead space - he's fighting in underground mines, not a derelict spaceship - provided this has the free roaming capabilities of the last game, I look forward to it.
