@claudiomusic I absolutely agree. Augeri was great both before & with Journey...what's he doing now? Yes, he was very much under-rated for what he did with Journey, loinger, in total, than Perry was with them. But Perry will always be The Voice of Journey. I admire the way Pineda has come out of his shy little shel & grown with the band, but he'll never be anything on his own.

@JourneyRocks13666 There is a version of this live with Perry with no actual video though and it is a true testament of how hard this song is to sing. When you listen to the version I am making reference to, you can see that the studio had some heavy editing and auto tuning. I think Perry is Great however many of his songs had a lot of help from the magic of studio music.

I always liked Augeri's singing. I though he was an excellent replacement for Perry. Of course I wish Perry could have continued, but that's nothing against Augeri.

Too bad Augeri's voice got worn like Steve Perry's. I think they are both still great singers though...Arnel is versatile, but he lacks emotion in the songs. It's only a matter of time before he wears out too.

Steve Perry is the best on record. Arnel is highly over rated and Steve Augeri was highly under rated. Steve Auger was amazing and he doesn't get the credit he deserves for carrrying the band for 10 years after Perry left. Journey just disregarded him and now in TV interviews, talks like it took them 10 years to find Perry's replacement. Like the 10 years with Augeri was everyone's imagination. Augeri deserves more respect from Journey. They toured him to death.

When I first heard Augeri sing on the 'Arrival' CD, I really was impressed with his voice and I was surprised at how much he resembled Perry. But now, after hearing much of Augeri, both on the few albums they made and live in concert, I have grown to realize that Augeri was not cut out for Journey.

His voice is unique, and better served for solo. Arnel Pineda does a much better version of this song and other Journey songs; just my personal opinion. I still love Perry...

I don't hang out on the forums. I tried them, was blown away by the animosity between the fans of different singers. I like Steve Perry, Steve Augeri and Arnel Pineda very much. I saw one other one in concert, don't remember his name, didn't like him. I've been a journey fan since the late 70's and I have recordings (LP, tape, CD, MP3) of these guys and I like them. I hope someday Steve Auger does some solo work as I liked his look and how he was in concert to the crowd. I would go see him.

steve augerie is a great singer too, too bad he cant sing anymore. But for SP he had not sing for ten years his voice must have faded that's why he did not want to go back to Journey. Like Toto. his voice is probably  different now compare from when he was young.
