  • how do you get wav files to play in NN-19?

  • THX for Samps!! Nice Trick.

  • WTF!? this is so cool man!

  • a since you dnt have a 49 key how do you use the C1 notes bcuz i have a 49 key and i want to use C0 keys up to C8 can you tell me what to do

  • This is great!!

  • Once again. great vid!

  • What version of reason do u use ?

  • So youtube puts this on my recommaded videos. I guess i suck.

  • Great tip man, cheers.

  • I did this back in 99' with my Kurzwiel K2500 then ran the audio through my dj mixer. Everyone was like "What the hell are you doing that for?" Tore it up though.

  • nice scratching! I have made a similar tutorial like this in reason too, but I did it a bit differently. I included some automation to make it less static. Check it out if you have the time. =)

  • everytime you release the key and the pitch wheel that same annoying scratch sample appear.. Try to fix that, assign different scratch for each key..

  • That is fucking amazing! Such a great job man!

  • cheers been playin wit it 4 ages

  • haha Clever! +1

  • Это и все что ты умеешь играть7?????

  • It works finely for me :D Thank you bro

  • thank you very much bro

  • datz purdy

  • looks and sounds terrible.

  • GET FREE PRODUCTS....youtube.com/watch?v=XGBzVnhtDro

  • Wow. Never would have thought of that. Nice job brother.

  • @williamlamy what program do you use ??

  • great idea! works great with reason! Also works great with the my Korgs onboard sampler! Doesn't sound as good with many other samples as the classic ahhhh though. car crash and scream aren't bad but it only works well with long white noise type sounds. for actual vocal scratches I gotta plug in the decks, but for basic shugga shugga stuff it's a sweet shortcut. Thanx

  • Thanks for the video and for the samples!

  • So I loaded the samples onto nn-19, got it all to work fine, until I hit the record button. When i Record, then playback, it doesn't sound like the scratches anymore, it just sounds like a bunch of ticking noises. The pitch still changes, but the sound is just ticking to the beat I hit the key when recording, instead of the actual "aah" sound. Any help?

  • @JoeMooProductions you may uncheck "quantize during rec", behind the transport buttons (play/stop/rec).

  • Whats the name of your MDI keyboard sry if the question was asked but i didnt see...

  • @KidSpotlight as seen at 0:02 : M-Audio Axiom 25

  • keren

  • how do you load the samples...it wont let me

  • @doctordrizzay all i had to do was go to the link, open the file with WinZip and Extract it to the folder I wanted to put them in. 'browse sample' under nn19 and you got it. if that doesnt work for you for whatever reason, there are videos that'll teach you to load samples.

Thanks for the vid, more fun then what I was doing before for scratch sounds.

  • imagine scott storch on this

  • not trying to spam but figured people might be interested..

***IF ANYONE WANTS TO BUY THIS CONTROLLER, MESSAGE ME. I AM SELLING IT ON EBAY. MINT CONDITION***

  • Sick dude! Thanks for sharing that! Got an axiom too and just made a little beat and started wcratching! thanks for the samples! Subbed for sure!

  • damn i did just what i saw in the video but it doesn't work for me man!, and when i create a NN-19 it doesn't start with "init patch", but with "farfi shaorgan", any help?

  • @antichristck right-click in NN-19 > initialize patch.

  • @williamlamy hey, it finally works, thanks!!

  • amigo! me gustaria hablar contigo!

  • Is this possible in FL Studio?

  • @ArchiTEKBeats yes, under the effects there's the "fruity scratcher" plug-in. you can program it, link a controller to it or use your typing keyboard. search Youtube for a tutorial on how to use it.

  • @ArchiTEKBeats yes with fl scratcher

  • the reason 3.0 work in windows 7???? thanks..

  • what midi keyboard is that?

  • wat kind of midi u got???

  • wat kind of midi u got???

  • Will this work in Sonar?

  • This is quality. I'm doing it with Logic Exs24 sampler. Thank you so much for the cool trick. Now I can't listen to music without having logic open just to jam around to it!

  • This also works with ableton live verry well!

just use a sampler, load the sample and then go to the midi section of sampler to set velocity to sample offset and pitchbend to +24st

    lg

  • dude this is by far the best sample patch thing iv downloaded for reason full stop thanks for this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Y)

  • Absolutely fantastic. Thank you so much for revealing your secret. I'm a Logic Pro user but this tutorial can be applied to the EXS24 sampler plugin. Can't wait to use this new-found knowledge.

  • What's the programme?

  • It cost 180

  • what keyboard is that? and howmuch

  • @xx9MMxx Its an M-Audio Axiom 25 ;) Don't know the price.

  • @DJNICEASS you can probly find this specific one for pretty cheap since the new model came out. the new one is 250. this one you could probly find for 150ish now

  • MAybe it is cheating...but totally hits the target...the sound is complete and goodlooking!

  • endless possibilities with the revolution of midi thumbs up

  • Would anyone tell me if this is more virtual instrument savvy than logic pro?

  • yo..with the uprising of Serato / Native Instruments Traktor / Torq etc - it's really becoming more about the sound you produce vs how you produce it. Props to you for your creativity and ingenuity. Midi is the new turntable (this coming from a dj who is holding onto my tables with my all my last wil), but c'mon guys: appreciate this for what it is and where it's going.

I love to see this creative stuff cuz it just keeps pushing the possibilities. Keep up the good work.

  • THIS IS FUCKING SHIT, SCRATCHING SOUNDS TERRIBLE

  • nee, u suck

  • nee

  • Can you do this with any MIDI keyboard with a pitch wheel? Cause i cant afford a M-Audio axiom 25

  • u suk

  • could you use this technique to make custom bass wobbles?

  • That's cheating!

  • Check my vid of how to reason 5 free ! watch?v=B3NGyOIMpmQ&feature=related (no scam)

  • Maaaaantronixxxxx

  • where did u get the inti patch sound. i get the whole knob moving part but i dont got the orginal sound on nn19 sampler patch

  • nice been looking for something like this...THANKS!!

  • can sumone plz tell me wat the difference is in this piano and the Axiom 61 ??

  • what midi keyboard is this? (whats the name) how much does it cost?

  • Any advice for someone wanting to learn Reason 4.0? I just purchased a MIDI keyboard and Reason 4.0 and am looking for some advice. I play the drums and the guitar, but Reason and learning to use the keyboard w/ it seems more difficult!

  • Is this keyboard reactive enough (is there a delay time between the action and the sound?)? is that like a real instrument? Im planning to buy one soon to go on fl studio ! =)

  • @thefirstchildren It can be near instant if you have an ASIO-compatible soundcard. If you don't have a good soundcard, you can also use the free program ASIO4All (comes bundled with FL) & you will have about a 35ms delay, though I think that depends on how fast your PC is. I have messed around with a 35ms delay & it isn't noticeable at all. So... long story short... yes, it is exactly like a real instrument... because it is.

  • @BlaculasSmellyFro Nice thx I may get one !

  • is there away so that when you trigger it its in the middle of the sample? or random spot of the sample?

  • @mrerictbrown in the tutorial i assign the "sample start" setting to velocity, so it's a little random and gives life to the thing. You can assign this setting to another controller.

  • yo that shit was cool, but it needs 2 be composed then it will sound ill

  • fuck what happen to vinyl...

    stupid fucken technology

  • @branden5 the thing with vinyl is these DJ's now N days make that shit not fun, playin garbage at clubs so u got people like this dude who no u gotta have fun in ya craft to be good at it.

  • @branden5 BOOOHOOOO I WANT EVERYTHING TO STAY THE SAME FOREVER

FUCK WHAT HAPPENED TO THE TELEGRAPH STUPID TELEPHONE...

WHAT HAPPENED TO KEEPING SLAVES STUPID FUCKIN EGALITARIAN SOCIETY

WHAT HAPPENED TO DYING FROM THE PLAGUE STUPID FUKKIN MODERN HEALTHCARE...

  • @schizoidchimp

Don't be such a shithead. Some people like vintage shit because it has a different sound and feels more "real".

  • Wow they say you learn new things everyday, you just gave me one :]

Something to play around with methinks!

  • haha, so simple yet so ill, i luv it, didnt really think of it, actually, this isnt fake scratching, it IS scratching, just on a surface other than a mixer with a cross fader. igve ur self more credit :)

  • hey man nice video! i'm just wondering what midi keyboard are you using?

  • ok someone help mei jsut got a midi cable fr my keyboard so i can use it with reason 34 but reason 4 dosnt see my keyboard its a casio lk-110 please help

  • thanks for the upload sir..i was just wondering after i download the scratch samples i cant open them in reason, they're in my downloaded file..once i open the file from the nn19 they aren't there anymore

  • all midi controllers cann do that?

  • what midi is that?

  • Brilliant idea! Thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks man for the video, I dont have Propellerhead Reason I have Ableton Live and I use sampler to use the scratch samples. I wouldnt of thought about until I saw this so Thanks again. :)

  • Haha, brilliant! Thanks William.

  • hey buddy do you know if the keybord works with a macbook pro and oh yhea and how much is it? thanks

  • Yeah that works perfectly without tt...

  • nice tip thanx for sharing

  • I cant stand this software. they had me using it at college a couple years back. then they had a go at me for using a better program and importing the MIDI from it into this program.

  • Yo , Thatz da Midi im savin 4 ... M-Audio Axiom 25 , About $160-170 , Best deal out there i think . If yall know of a better deal , Lemme know XD PS Dat was sick Bro haha

  • It's hot, but seems like it would kinda take the fun out of scratching...

  • DUDE!....I need to know what NN-19 patch did you use.....I'm about to purchase that MIDI controller and that technique is very usefull............i need more info about it.......i appreciate if you can answer it!

  • @sepulpedro breathe deeply, watch the video again, it's all described.

  • aaaah reeason.... :D

  • i love your hands - they're really sexy.

  • I did this same but you know... good.

  • @ williamlamy: Im gunna hafta try this. I have the same Midi controller. And to Jrogers1189....Yes ANY of the Axiom series midi controllers are WELL worth it. M-Audio makes a solid product. and before you ask, NO, I dont work for M-audio. I just make music and my experience with M-audio has been that they make quality products. go to a guitar center in your area to check them out before you buy one.

  • Tell me again how to do this? will it work in cubase?

  • can you do this in FL studio?

  • SIC

  • do you use the midi zones in reason?

  • booring

  • can i use this with the mouse? or something else?

  • the vid response i posted i used the scratch samples from the refill in your link and then i just used the NN-XT and messed with the pitch and mods on it...Check it out n let me know what u think...thanks for posting this it's really useful for realistic scratching in Reason

  • that sounds so real

  • does it work on fruity loops too?

  • scratch is vinyl. you fake! =)

  • Creat an NNXT and load different samples across the white keys! Load drum loops on the black ones with the polyphony set to 1 and you can scratch on the whites and change beats with the black!

  • one step closer to making dj's obsolete

  • hahahaha!! this is cool :D

  • Wow, sounds coo'........didn't think it could be done like that.......

    deejay ?this

  • I have the roland fantom XA. how do I set up the keyboard to generate via midi in reason 4?

  • @Rocamillionaire it seems that you can USB-plug it to your computer. Install the USB driver from the Roland CD, then install a generic midi keyboard in Reason (google for a tutorial).

  • well done mate! just what I was looking for, thank you!!

  • thats really cool and creative nice one dude... sounds sick.

  • pleaz send the sounds to me....am waiting for your answer!!!

  • it's very great becauz of this video i bought an axiom 25 lol

  • Comment removed

  • midi-masturbation

  • @k4speq jajajja!!!!

  • @k4speq :D

  • nice!

  • how come when i put a sample through the nn19 it still plays the synth thing when i press the key it wont assign the sample to anything

  • Try right-click on nn-19 > initialize patch, before loading your sample.

  • that was DOPE

  • you able to change the pitch on this thing?

and can you get this kind of a hardcore trance/techno synth sound with it?

  • its a sampler, not a synthesizer.

  • yeah, still thought you might have been able to get that kind of a sound

  • comment for everyone here: you don't need willbe's scratch samples! keep in mind they are just simple sounds that he's given us to use, but literally any vocal recording you use (like a child saying "hey you!" or a guy saying "hit the beat") or sound effect like a violin sample will work. definately utilize his tip of opening the NN-19 sampler and doing the pitch shift thing, but be creative! say your own DJ name and use that to scratch over.

    - Banana Pop

  • damn, thanks man. works nicely.

  • cool man i will try it

  • LIKE IT

  • Cheers!

  • Thanks so much for a really simple dowload mate.

    Your a champ!

  • HEY THNX FOR THE SCRATCH KIT

    i can use it

  • Hi, I've tried it ,

    but it won't work:(

if I press my key at my midi controller

than the whole sample wil play.

also when I release the key

    PLEASE CAN YOU HELP ME?

    Greetz from holland

  • set the release fader to zero. ;)

  • something is wrong with your midi controller or your soundcard, if the nn19 settings are right.

  • Can you do this on any other software except reason?

  • @bangstar6

You can do it on Fruity Loops also.

    Witout a Keyboard.

  • Oh, fuck! It is COOL!

Вообщем заебись придумал! =) Молодец! =)

  • sick. i did this with my padkontrol

  • i t hink i love you man

  • gonna have some fun with that - thanks ;)

  • nice dude nice.

  • im buying this axiom 25 thingie

    i just have a question

when u pitch bend and live record duz it affect the notes in piano roll in fl studio?

  • @lil10dot yup it records how you play it

  • Check my REASON music:

    search/copy/paste:

2pac - Thugz Mansion (Fira Heffner RMX)

  • Wow, nice trick! This is the most fun I've had with my Axiom 25 since i bought it off my friend. THanks for the video! Seems to me people are just jealous of your views. I call it innovation. It's just like you said in your video. Your not a DJ so you make do with what you have. Cheers!

  • how can i upload my samples onto reason?

  • can i get the same effect with fruity loops and the axiom 49???

  • there's a way of doing this without downloading samples or paying money

all you have to do is open up a Dr. Rex loop that has a DJ scratch, there are like 40 different scratches. once you do that the first 12 or 13 keys of your MIDI keyboard are little chops of the original scratch loop. ipso facto you can make your own crab scratch "beat" essentially

  • Is there an easy way to put your own samples onto your keyboard? For example a kick on one key, a snare on another?

  • in order to do that you'd have to buy a chop-up program. i dont know any names of any

but the other way is to open a bunch of NNXT samplers each with a sample of a snare, bass drum, hi hat. you do that by opening the second folder below the "NNXT" title and then select your wav sample. middle C is the sample

  • if you make music that completely depends on the quality of scratches then we are on a different page of style

now, it could be that you actually think that, or your just still a little bit high from earlier and you decided to entertain yourself by hiding behind the anonymity of a cyberspace page and making a somewhat negative comment

so in reality, we could be calling you a cheap poser

  • good guess except i maintain that opinion through sobriety. scratch your own samples yourself, you can do it with a pitch bend obviously and that will sound better and is actually credible artistically

  • fair enough. however, originality in itself is the art of hiding your sources, so if i'm succesful in making it unknown that i have used the 'cheap poser way' of making a scratch sound in a song and have derived a pleased feeling from the listener, then i can argure being just as artistically credible as the very person who made this video.

  • i agree half the fun is hiding your stuff, but anything like prerecorded scratches, loops, presets, thats all the opposite of artistic credibility., you are using other peoples material beyond the single note. my opinion doesnt matter, but thats just how i judge it myself. im slicer what can i say

  • im *a slicer

  • @omghai2u its cheap, cause dont costs you the whole vinyl set. poser? no, cheap.

and besides that, in this way, any retarted can scratch, which isnt a very easy task. so its poser?

why cant you see that things evolve with time? its the same thing that the torch-cave guys say to you with because of light-bulbs "cheap, and poser"

i truly agree if you say the real scratch is more complete and sounds more natural, so?

  • Thanks mac!

  • out of the large sample of videos id like not to think that every person is a lame ass and it might have something to do with the hardware and its limitations. i blame your mom for not pulling you out three months early, slapping you with your own umbilical cord then ditching you in a landfill.

  • so over all the axiom is worth the money? it seems like most compostions on youtube consist of some lame main melody and stupid drum samples custom or not. before i spend my money i want to see some truely dope shit.

  • blame people for the boring music, not the hardware.

  • buy it then make some truly dope shit....

    dont wait for someone else!!!
