He was also written up very favourably by the Western press in the 1980s, even after he started a war with those crazy revolutionaries in Iran, costing about a million lives. Iraq was a developed nation with free health care and free education including free higher education. There was no popular support for the invasion of Iraq in Europe and very many huge protest marches against it in 2003.

The UN inspectors mean that they cannot find evidences of WMDs because Saddam was playing games with them. (let them in, then boot them out, let them in and boot them out). Saddam had done this many times since 1991.
This isn't about WMDs, it had to with the violation of a ceasefire agreement. At least, i make a decent argument unlike you who talks down other nations, that's not a way to argue.

@3replybiz In the Cold war we gave supplies to the Mujadine and Bi Laden was a member. So yes. In 2001 when we invaded afganistan the Mujadine split into the Northern alliance and the Taliban.

Indeed the Bin Laden network was an ofshoot of the CIA funded mujahedeen assembled and funded by the CIA in order to lure the Soviet into the "Afghan Trap" in the late 1970ies.
