Best Riff of the Episode: "Hey; get this! They're steam-cleaning the horses!" Splendid job, Gypsy! Sorry u couldn't stay the whole movie. We understand that it ain't EZ to watch a bad film. It takes a thick skin!
The stuffed lion that hercules throws is by far the best part of this movie, i've seen this so many times i know all the funny jokes and can watch with just a chuckle, but the stuffed lion and you can tell it is stuffed makes me crack up everytime.
The beginning of Crow's little recitation about Heracles being rather stupid is true. He was the stereotypical dumb jock with very little in the brains department. Of course, almost all of the stuff after that is wrong. :)
Is it just me, or were all three of these movies visually unimpressive in the extreme?
I wonder if they just had different standards back then, but a whole lot of these movies just focused too much on the human characters fighting each other in bad-looking fight scenes.
What's really sad is that the actual scene of the fight with the shapeshifter was, I thought, very passable, and if more of the fights in this film had been like that, I might even have enjoyed it.
No budget my young friend, the reason the scene with the shapeshifter was so good was due to them blowing what they had on it.
You'd be surprised at how good the special effects could be in movies going all the way back to the silent era, it was just very very rare to get a budget together to pull it off. Another problem is that, like every other profession, talented actors, directors, writers, and everything else, is pretty rare, even more so to get a room filled with them.
I don't think I'd be surprised by that. I love older movies, even back to the days of black and white, and I'm still amazed by how much they could accomplish with just strings (Dracula) fades (the invisible man) and cutaways. It's too bad what happened to Hercules.
15:43 "Whoa! Did I toss a throne last night?" 19:39 "Oh dear LORD, the canary exploded!" 22:50-23:55 Good Natured Brawling! :-)) 33:25 Movie: "Today is dedicated to Uranus!" Crow: "Well thank you, I'm flattered - HUH?! The Uranus Lines: XD "I was the last High Priest dedicated to Uranus." "The blood of Uranus can never be destroyed!" "Only the rays of the Sun can destroy the Rock of Uranus." Servo: "...and more fiber." "These are my solders.... born of the blood of Uranus."
