  • And here I thought Quebec was only known for thier whores and strippers!

  • I'm born and raised in Toronto and Montreal is easily one of my favourite places on Earth. Don't get me wrong; Toronto is my first love but there's something about Montreal that keeps me always coming back year after year (sometimes twice a year). Montreal sait faire!

  • Duck, foie gras...... Realy, this is not Quebec.... The Poutine you had it right. But get a traditional poutine were every one can aford.

  • Puck fETA

  • Anyone know the song that starts at 1:11?

  • @koza821 Poutine is also good for alcoholics, it's so fat it prevents hangovers :).

  • I fucking love foie gras!!

  • Foie gras is quite the food. Rich and delicious, great on top of a steak. And Quebec? not so friendly to outsiders, especially in rural areas, and especially against ontarians.

  • hahaha why does he hate Robin Williams so much!?!?!

  • This video convinced me to try foie gras...always had a knack for exotic food.

  • This video really gets in the face of animal rights activists. Foie gras, an indian native pulling a dead seal/otter, fur jacket, love it!

  • I went to Au Pied de Cochon during Jazz Fest 2011. Lively atmosphere, but thought the food was just above-average. Had the foie gras, Pied de Cochon and Duck-in-a-Can. Internet opinion seems to be that APDC is past its prime.

  • Fois Gras and Poutine?

    Interesting.

  • oh sry i meant the Sugar-shack, not the restaurant where he is, SORRY

  • au pied de cochon? it was wierd, it was ok, but all in all, wierd. oh yeah, did I mention expensive? yeah, expensive

  • poutine...oh my....this is what I eat before the day of execution.

  • Holy delicious mother of fucking pearl. I first had duck in Paris, but this might be enough to make me move to Quebec.

  • PETA= People Eating Terrible Animals......./plants

  • As soon as i heard sector seven G i started looking for homer XD

  • Poutine is a horrible and fatty food ....try the Canadian Salmon is way much better , there is more better food in the Province of Qc than the Poutine .

  • @musicfan28 Poutine is NOT horrible, it is rich and delicious. Canadian salmon is pretty much the same as salmon everywhere, poutine is a Quebec institution. Fatty, as most chefs will tell you, definitely Tony included, is not a bad thing, if done well: Fat is Flavor. The French (in France) eat MUCH more fatty foods, but they remain quite healthy, why, PORTIONS!!!! It's not so much what you eat as how much, and whether or not you get of your lazy butt afterwards.

  • LOVE CANADA

  • if cavemans we're vegan their would be no human race....................... that or the foodwould just suck if you ask me that's equally bad

  • i saw the duck thing and i just wanted to be there and grab as many delicious ducks as i can and ruuuuuun and then eat them namnamnam

  • hate haterz, just shut up, its normal to speak in french in a french province dude, if you want to hate a english school just search on google so... ta yeule tbk

  • yeah, fuck peta! and anyone know the song playing from around 4:00 to around 5:30?

  • Vancouver sucks, Montreal here I am come!

  • can someone please tell me the song from 1:15?

    thanks in advance

  • Canadians are the nicest people on earth

  • montreal is one of north america's greatest cities!!

  • go oilers

  • gives me goosebumps... long life to Québec, apprenez à vous apprécier!

  • PETA kills more animals than it saves. which explain the large carcass freezer they ahve in their office.

  • montreal est magique

  • Patatoes in duck fat is heaven!

  • Montreal Canadians Suck!!!!

    GO LEAFS GO!!!!!!

The chef from Au pied de Cochon has a show called "The Wild Chef" I believe, its been on for years.

  • @sneakybees Hummm... What ? Canadiens = 3rd in the east and Leafs...well 13th =( ! Sorry bro !

  • Montreal Canadians Suck!!!!

    GO LEAFS GO!!!!!!

  • He raelly wants to be sued, he's as anti vegetarian as a T-rex lol

  • It's not perfect but I was surprised how much space these ducks had to run around in. I'd be ok eating them, especially in contrast to eating your standard supermarket chicken (which I never do these days)

  • WHAT'S THE SONG AT 1:10?!?! I'm pretty sure the artist is Bizzy B, but what's the song?

  • i love martin. i would so go there if i ever go to quebec

  • fois gras is one of man's greatest cullinary invention.

  • I am a vegetarian and I say what ever makes you happy go for it. Life's to short to whine about what you say I can't or shouldn't eat. If YOU like foie gras then enjoy it

    peace

  • @SECRETBOL YO DONT TELL ME WHAT TO DO BRO

  • Finally made it out to Au Pied de Cochon a couple weeks ago. Had really high expectations based on this episode, but was not disappointed at all. The tarragon bison tongue was amazing (and for a $6 appetizer, could have been a meal in itself) and the fois gras poutine was transcendent. You ahve to make a reservation a month or more in advance (mainly because of this episode) but it's well worth it. Food/drinks/staff are all wonderful.

  • I am from quebec and i dont eat fois gras.

  • Martin Picard is the best Chef in Canada. I say this as an Anglophone in Toronto... that may confuse my American friends but its a hell of a compliment.

  • any person who ever comes to canada should order a poutine its one of the greatest eats on the face of the earth. wikipedia that shit.

  • Haha oh my god, my arteries are screaming just watching this. Looks absoloutely delicious though XD

  • best job ever...

  • Holy jesus, I must eat there before I die.

  • christ this is the best show there is... i've taken many a vicarious vaca's via tony

  • foie gras!! mmm et poutine! c'est bon!!

  • Poutine of foie gras....my mouth just waters at the mention of it.

  • The Quebecois are not racists-I'm a US citizen living in QC and I love it and the people.

Remember the old adage, "When in Rome...?"

If I travel to a different country, I want to learn to speak at least a little of the native language. It shows courtesy and respect.

If you cannot handle that, then stay in your English bubble.

  • @BeyondChange If you decide to move to a country, you learn to speak its language, period. There's nothing racist or extremist about that. So you're right, if learning French is too much effort, just don't move to Quebec.

  • @BeyondChange My best friends girl is half French and really proud of it. He pushes on it too it gets annoying.

  • @BeyondChange i dont see anything wrong about learning another language.I would have been happy to learn english when i was younger.I live in quebec and my wife is an american. She have a son and he's gonna have to learn french in school.I see this more as a blessing than something wrong. He will be bilingual.Yes we kinda force people to learn it but then again it's not something this bad to learn stuff in life,is it?

  • As a Québecois, I'm pround to see my province get rave reviews from my favourite foodie show!

  • i Want Duck Liver wrapped In baby seal with a Side of more duck liver!

  • After all that food he had, I know at the end he was struggling eating it. I know I can eat alot but it depends on food, I love foie gras but I'll get sick.. I wonder if Anthony got sick after eating part of those meals.

  • quebec is the best

  • @Unknownkid2 yeah I know, did you see our winter olympics opening ceremony? We don't know who we are lol.

  • well i mean the English part of Canada is just like the United States but Quebec is very different.

  • @Unknownkid2 I live in ottawa and i have a bit of both cultures here, its quite weird

  • In my opinion Quebec is the only reason to visit Canada....it actually has a culture

  • Comment removed

  • @Unknownkid2 im from the east coast of canada and believe me we have a culture.

  • glad that I live in Montreal <3

  • "looks like some sort of cheese there.... o no its lard" lol

  • @TragicMoop

This is the first comment I saw and I loled.

  • I ate at Au Pied De Cochon last time i visited montreal, simply amazing.

  • I freaking luv travelling to Quebec! As soon as I cross that Ontario Quebec border (usually by Temiscaming) I know I be in Quebec..I love the friendliness of Quebec people...way more than Ontarians (where we are uber suspicious...why???I do not know why..) But I heart Quebec!

  • @creegirl852 haha im from Temiscaming.......

  • Comment removed

  • MONTREAL !!!! <3

  • Hey, Wolverine is Canadian - It can't be a bad country after all!

  • @MaxFrisch84 that was a bad joke :), but I have to agree with you, I loved Montreal. Candians live really, well and their culinary and entertainment is great!.

  • It's warm in summer. So don't come in february, or you might find a little chilly.

  • all things fatty, porky and delicious...lol, i love how tony talks about food

  • Dam, you French have awesome food.

  • I had the poutine there and it was so good, my mouth waters just thinking about it.

  • oh i know.. i wish i could go back again..truyl an awesome place

  • I think its awesome that Bourdain doesn't just go to far flung exotic lands. Love local cusine as well.

  • Way to get the joke. High five!

  • You're a real douche.

  • I was just making a little joke. :P It's actually a very good episode.

  • hahahahahha i look like robyn williams in a speedoo

  • C'est magnifique!

  • lol this is north quebec

  • I was just in Quebec last week....and Poutine is disgusting....the cheese is good though...

  • My husband is from Quebec and he hates poutine too...lol.

    I'm from Toronto...I love it.

  • i want that duck fwa i dunno spelling, that shit looks good.

  • Foie gras

  • i guess...

  • i love the respect that he shows to the places he is visiting. excellent show. delicious food.

  • that fois gras poutine makes my panties moist

  • Angioplasty it is... with a squeegee

  • As a Canadian, the fois gras poutine made me actually start salivating.

  • Martin Picard is the best.

  • Tony Bourdain and I, it seems, share the idea that all food can be good and that in actual fact there isn't enough of it to go around for the world. I think when he eats unconventional animal parts, or has disdain for people who want to reduce the amount and variety of food we have available to consume, he gets pissy. So do I. Vegetarianism is fine and all but don't assume you are being more righteous than me because I choose the eat my food free of political, religious or social boundaries.

  • @mcdaer Vegetarianism isn't fundamentally political, religious, or social it's being aware of the pain of other creatures. The three reasons for vegetarianism you mentioned are superficial purposes.

  • @mcdaer What the fuck are you rambling about? I was fine with the first half of your babel but the second part just turned into a political thing. You ruined it.

  • yeah you really dont know what your talking about

  • Yeah, as much as I enjoy his show, I have some serious issues with his attitude towards vegetarians, whom he manages to make some sort of quip about in most shows.

I also think it's interesting how he gets uncomfortable when he actually sees the animals being killed, but has no problem eating when he's detached from the process...

  • I agree with you on your Vegetarian comment, but those are his views and I respect them. I think a lot of what he says is tongue-in-cheek humor though.

  • I'll be blunt. You are a brainwashed Peta idiot. You just made me want to go to my local French eatery and eat FOIS GRAS. Next time you make a comment, do RESEARCH first, it's not cruel at all.

  • @booe34 fuck PETA

  • @BLastyboW Thank god someone finally said it. Animals, fun to pet better to chew.

  • @BLastyboW

People for the Eating of Tasty Animals...PETA

  • @BLastyboW seriously, I mean PETA's a litter over the top but come on. I bet you feel bad when you see all those humane society and aspca commercials, what makes animals you eat any different?

  • @newgateway1 No, the commercials just show me the wide range of creatures that are tasty...

  • @bo0tsy1 wow, I bet your parents brought you up to act like a giant douche huh?

  • @newgateway1 ??? Don't see what you mean, I love food, animals are food. I'm NOT afraid to kill the animal I choose to eat.

  • @bo0tsy1 ??? Asscrack munch????? You fleshy headed mutant....

  • @BLastyboW yes, however, the problem of eating meat goes beyond compassion for the suffering of animals. the chicken in the grocery store is a political problem, because Big Ag's industrial agriculture is subsidized by gov't money. we eat too much meat (and sugar and sodium), and it is unhealthy. Not to mention the inevitable Bird Flu or Swine flu that will actually have a big impact

  • @booe34

    foie gras.

  • just the first onslaught of foie gras (i'm guessing there's more?) must have been EXPENSIVE

  • Duck is the most godly food on the planet when cooked correctly.

  • i know that dish he's eating is expensive. i wonder how much he paid for all that food?? thanks for downloading. hope to see more episodes soon.

  • Canada eh? Haha sweet

  • No no, it's Quebec. They hate being referred to as Canadians. Lolz.

  • Well, later he does go to "English" Canada in another show. XD

  • You mean Vancouver?

  • Haha, yeah, more or less. XD

  • i <3 foie gras

  • Thanks for posting this. I love NR and this is probably the only episode i hadn't seen. I don't like foie gras, but I think it was a funny gag that they tried to stuff Tony like a goose. This has some of his wittiest writing.

  • "When he dies, stop." LOLOL...what a way to go!

  • That restaurant looks great. And hilarious! Those dishes are very amusing.

  • Foie gras poutine, huh... so wrong, yet, in a twisted way, so right.

  • thats a lot of goddamn foie gras

  • ok Tony...I aint mad atcha wit the size 12 shoes!

  • aye! keep posting.
