In particular, the eye wound coming not from Dan but a tree, the lack of any real visual reference to Gideon or the Bible despite two mentions in the lyrics and the doctor not lying on the table. Your comment is about eight months belated, so hell if I can remember. Watching it again, though, the Old West theme that is so clearly implied by the song is completely absent here. (Paul said he named the character because it sounded like a cowboy.) The shootout occurred at a hoedown, again absent. The joke about the doctor lying down on the table (because he's clearly drunk) was missed - and for god knows what reason, in this version he runs into a tree. And, of course, the Gideon's Bible.
