The rate of decay always assumed constant, has been proven to fluctuate and the impact is monumental throughout math, science and history. To expand the truth to include "all possibilities" is NOT "the only sane choice" (I assume you meant "rational" here?). Actually, one must exclude those possibilities not supported by evidence and instead follow those possibilities which ARE supported by evidence. So you were wrong there.
And you don't seem to know what the word "arbitrary" means. The dismissal of the god hypothesis is due to a lack of evidence, thus NOT arbitrary.

i never grew up in a religious family hearing there is none good but god, and was taught that a single act of a minor crime like theft was redeemable because god was merciful.

in my opinion the biggest guilt trip (that actually even has an effect on me) is the fact that not all will go to heaven and will simply 'die' . can be quite scary can't it? im begininning to see through it, i can see so many faults with the concept of 'heaven' itself that not even my very 'holy' friends can answer me

I'd like to be enlightened. What would be the rate per year, or per life, to make someone a liar? Once a month? Once a day?. Who gets to decide? Does it depend on the size of the lie? I really would like to know what is it to be a LIAR. Or do liars even exist?
Ray Comfort's logic does convince me that I have been a liar, and I am guilty, under the Ten Commandments. I am also convinced that only God is good. But although I did good too, I don't think I'm God. I must be being unreasonable.

@goodmusickforthesoul The fact is that "Liar" is just a title, sure you could call someone who lies very little a liar, but that would be meaningless, it wouldn't make your lying any worse, it just makes it SEEM worse because your defining someone on that characteristic alone, you could call yourself whatever you want as long as you do certain things: liar, truthteller, flowerpicker, trainrider, shoewearer, candlelighter, etc. It means absolutely nothing.

@HHHonoth You are attempting to provide an honest argument, and that is appreciated. The point that Mr Comfort attempts to make is that even if we "lie very little", most likely the "little sins" that we committed have included some capital offenses in the law of God, that deserve our death. The point is that all need Jesus, because there is nobody who never sinned against God. Denying God alone is worthy of death, but God can forgive and save antagonists, just look at Paul of Tarsus.

@goodmusickforthesoul the problem i have with that is that we do bad things because we are imperfect, if Yahweh designed us then considering the fact that he's omnipotent our imperfection cannot be an accident and would therefore be his design, and how can you punish something for being the way you designed it to be? furthermore, Yahweh being omniscient would mean that he would know full well that the majority of us would end up being eternally "punished" for the sins he designed us to commit.

@assassinsrock Does your maths teacher realise that mathematics is built upon assumptions? The point is to pick the correct assumptions to begin with to obtain an interesting theory. Having consistent axioms is essential though, and is something which christianity (and doubtlessly, all major religions) does not exhibit.
