Morals should be the study of preferable behaviour as general rules in all situations instead of judgement when those aren't followed. If you must escape starvation by stealing food and if you think the one stealing food still should pay back when he/she ever has the money, you still consider stealing when starving to death not a preferred behaviour. If we loose the sin and blame in the game of morals, it becomes more clear and consistent, with no consideration to situations.
And why exactly is a strict way of life necessary? It is entirely possible to be, I'll use the word chaotic, and not commit evil acts against your fellow man.

There's are limits. There are things we shouldn't respect.
"don't steal"
Generally wrong, yes. But there are situations when it might be necessary or even vital to do it.
"don't kill"
Same to as don't steal.
These are not indisputable commandments. These are just general rules of behavior.
Although I must admit that abortion shouldn't be done out of convenience but even more so, I believe it is a choice of the woman.
