@DCNCIDER He started being influenced by punk/new wave acts like The Clash, Talking Heads, and Sex Pistols. His girlfriend tells the story in her book how she went downstairs one morning to see him sitting on the floor with his curly long locks cut off with an old pair of kitchen scissors. This was just the surface of him wanting to change FM's sound to something totally unlike Rumours, as he was writing songs for Tusk at the time.
