It's always the vocalist that ruins power (or appropriate genre label) metal for me. I'm still looking for vocalists on par with Blind Guardian, Gamma Ray, Nightwish, and Korpicklaani. This just doesn't have enough balls. Or talent. Good everything else though... if a little predictable.

Actually, the vocals are pretty good what makes them sound weird is the reverb applied to them. It's like the band is in this huge space and the singer is in a closet. There is virtually no tail on that singer's reverb.... It's crisp, but stands out just a bit too much. He COULD get a little nastier with his attitude, he's kinda got a Axel Rose going on, hehe. Other than that.....t. I like this music though it's not my fav style.

Think about it logically: they have infused death growls, traditional power metal, Celtic-folk elements, punk and pop into their style. Who cares what genre they are? I' ve heard better yes, but I' ve heard much worse, they fit good, and this is good music its a good combo between power and folk, and that is what alot of people are searching for, the hardcore viking metal fans wouldn' t like it, because the vocals are perfectly clear, and no this has nothing to do with punk, do you hear the melody in his voice, then its not punk.
