OMG wrestling fans are such trolls...DUDE it's entertainment like get over it wtf is up with this iwc thing nobody gives a damn about a faux community. Based on a faux sport. I like wrestling and all but you people make it uncool to be a fan. ugh get a life
Hello!!!! Duh,The reason WWE outdraws UFC at arenas is because of ticket prices.UFC ticket prices can go to $1,000 or more & cheap seats are $150-$200,not 30 bucks or sometimes cheaper.UFC has only hit its peak for several years now, where WWE has been much more mainstream/known for a much much longer time.
I may be the minority here, but I think people just make a scene because they want to get attention. Like, who wants to agree on certain wrestlers being the best. NO ONE! SO this makes people lash out over silly things to get attention. People who hate Cena hate him because they hear it everywhere and this is what gets attention right now. And as Truth Slayer said a million times here, there in lies the problem!
My thing is I've gone from hating Cena, to coping with the fact Vince isn't going to get rid of his money maker. I accept that, BUT I wish they'd do something better with his gimmick. I'd actually want to watch Cena if they'd just do something better with him. That spinner belt introduced and kept around as long as it has felt like a slap in the face. I even accept that it wasn't his idea, but Cena as a superhuman marine thug what the hell? A heel change doesn't sound bad right about now.
I don't know if this is the case, but sometimes I think with the IWC, it's based on favoritism. Many people want some people to be de-pushed for several reasons, whether it's based on hatred or seeing something fresh. There are some things I get upset about in either WWE or TNA. But sometimes, people may have to look on why so-and-so was pushed to the moon. Like Cena, for instance. He's the most controversial superstar, yet he draws and sells merchandise for the company BIG time.
I agree about the kid thing. The WWE has always been written for kids, it just was written better. They need to develop characters that people care about.
I don't think Cena is why Cm Punk got depushed. If you ask me I think it has to do with Batista and his bitch attitude plus all the other politics that go one backstage

I got what u were saying man!! I argue some of the same things like how wrestling goes in cycles.. "The WWE like all businesses is about making money but its not as simple as Cena sells shirts and tickets to kids so you push him."
I agree. I myself, just can't believe how shallow people are on their analysis of the "business". KNOWING the business is one thing - UNDERSTANDING it is another.
of course its not but. The WWE right now makes more money on Merchindise than any thing else, ticketsells are second and PPV buy rates are third. So yes the guy that sells the most shirts and most tickets is going to get pushed.
The WWE doesn't need any one person at the moment they have lots of tremendous talent. Any number of wrestlers could be credibly pushed. Cena's merchandise sales certainly don't hurt matters, however since he's been shelved business hasn't exactly been in peril.
Cena isn't bad...it's the booking that ruined him. Backstage told him to use less of his moveset. They made him superman. they got rid of the tweener/heel Cena. Backstage is the problem, not Cena.
wait..... how could you compare UFC and WWE? UFC is real WWE is fake. I dont like mma at all and i will never watch it but please stop comparing real things to fake television shows. thats like comparing the hills with intervention. thats like comparing monster truck shows to nascar.
Wrestling is just as real as MMA and worse cause they haft to wrestle almost everyday whereas MMA fighters get something like 2-3-4 months to train for a match that is at maximum 15 MINUTES! You can compare UFC & WWE because they're both in the business of promoting so it's totally justifiable to compare them
im telling you man you cant compare the wwe to any sport. wrestling is a script MMA or NFL or MLB or NHL are real sports and these athletes put everything into every play. Hockey players dont check each other into the boards to it doesnt hurt, they really try and hurt them. boxing does way more damage to a person than pro wrestling does dude. come on man stop being naive
Went off the track a few times with this video but I agree with T-Slayer on most points (not all).
I don't believe wrestling is a CON. The business still seems to think it is. It's a different animal then the days when it wasn't openly "fake". How can you con people when they all know the shows a work?
Make an entertaining product advertise it properly and the fan base will grow. It's exactly like any show designed to push merchandise, just like kids cartoons in fact.
Fans in the past, didn't bother engaging themself in the technical aspect of the business, either. But in retrospect, it was propably more because they couldn't, rather than it being a conscious choice.
i understand y people who grew up with stars like the rock and stone cold dont approve cena or what the wwe has come to. but you cant watch cena perform a few times and compare him to someone like the rock who you have seen perform a thousand times and you grew up with, and then jugde. its just not fair. from someone who has seen both sides i can say the past was legendary but the future is interesting and people like cena ARE the present hands down. so stop hatin.
Sorry but Batman Return has nothing on The Dark Knight. It's one of the greatest films I've ever seen. Yes I know Tslay was talking about The animated series which was good too. I liked it very much but I'm a bigger fan of the films. And TDK was more of a thiller than a superhero film. Anyone who didn't like it or think it's overrated well I don't know what to tell you.
I get what you are saying about Cena making money and it is true but I don't agree WWE completely ignores the venom spewed at Cena. The man gets a passionate reaction from people who hate him while also getting a passionate reaction from those who love him. He is a face and a heal at the same time hence "the most controversial champion in WWE history". The bottom line is to put asses in seats. It doesn't matter if you are buying a ticket to boo or cheer. WWE makes money either way.
finally i was able to watch this (i think i've had one too many problems with youtube already i don't get to watch your vids lately in full anymore)
bischoff took advantage of the fact that he peeved some people out there. let's face it, people are more inclined to pay attention if you got them offended. offensive ideas are the reason why the monday night wars have high ratings because whether it's good or bad publicity, it's still publicity
I never understood why Vince never just ran RAW and let Bischoff handle Smackdown and Heyman run ECW. If it's cause of his ego that's really short sited.
Go ahead, entertain us with your pseudo-intelligence once again. You still have yet to respond to MoralVirus, a few comments that I made, and even LV5454, who completely buried you when he was making vids.
The WWE is about making money. So they push the people that make them money. Seems simple business enough to me that if John Cena makes you more money then MVP, you push Cena more. So, on the most basic of business principles, do what makes you the most money, WWE is succeeding. If you disagree, then you FAIL!!!!!!
WWE has a history pushing the people they want to see pushed. Not being pushed, is not necessarily a matter of business principles. WWE has and always will play favoritism, just like anybody else.
True but if you can make money usualy you are going to be pushed. I can only think of a few guys that where MONEY guys that the WWE never seemed to push hard.
True, but the notion that a wrestler arrives in a company and gets pushed because he creates a profit is absolutely nonsense. Mark Calaway (The Undertaker) wasn't pushed when he came to WWF because he created a profit for them, he got pushed because WWF saw alot of potential in him and the character to create a profit. The point being, is that you have to push a wrestler to see if he's going make money for you or not - It's a matter of risk-taking.
Carlos Colón, Jr. (Carlito) is probably one of the biggest failures of WWE in recent times. He was one of the most promising wrestlers in the company 4-5 years ago and he was really bringing in some high quantity of cash. Now look at him, he's just like a broken bottle of fine wine. WWE hasn't pushed him, nor has they used him right, all around a big failure.
i agree with u tslay! the tv rating of a program is not what makes it great. hell even a G rated show can be better than a tv-MA rated show. its about how well they create it. i personally would rather watch Married with children(PG Rated)its probably one of the best shows ever in my opinion than South park(MA Rated) which is good at times but its overated in my opinion.
Married... with Children is one of those sitcoms that defined the "American way of life". It has also become a defining classic here in Europe. All you need is Chuck Berry, Al Bundy, a blonde chick in a convertible Ford Mustang and you're fuckin' good to go.
another thing wrestling needs is for all the internet wrestling dirtsheets to go away. If they want to stick around and commentate on the shows and give ratings, fine. But the fact that htey keep spilling us the behind the scenes stuff is not going to help the business get better. It happens to much, fans will say "he only got it because i heard about this backstage" or something like that. Plus its hard for a show to surprise us when idiots spoil it(example: forget to put spoiler tags).
(spelling correction: yet, not yes on the first word of my previous comment)
Now I'm not saying that Cena needs to go away or be a jobber, and he certainly brings in money, but he clearly personifies WWE's lack of connection with the fans and habit of pushing people who they want to be over rather than people who naturally get over.
You seem to forget, in 2004 and 2005 Cena was getting some of hte best crowd reactions nightly. Right behind Undertaker and Eddie. Look at his match with JBL at Judgment day 2005. I hadnt heard a crowd so into a match since, i hate saying it, but the attitude era. Yes, the wwe might have pushed him a little to hard and to fast, but the fans did want to see him become a champion and a main eventer.
Yeah, but plenty of guys have been over at a time and not done well in the long run. Cena has been regularly pulling only one or two items on the WWE internet shop's best seller list, and that's unacceptable for someone in his position.
Yes Jeff Hardy, who regularly has three-four and sometimes five (yes, FIVE) items on that list lost clean to him on Raw just months ago. It's proof that WWE pushes who they want over who draws. Guys like Cena draw because of the way he was pushed. I mean look at the guy, he got a monster push and was STILL boo'd, even by "marks." Imagine if they gave that push to someone who was well-liked by everyone. Their mentality is clearly skewed.
This was the same type of shit I had been preaching to this Kyler guy, but he thinks I'm a complete moron. Thanks TSlay for proving everything for me.
John Cena does make money. That's cool. I'm a wrestling fan though - hence why I don't watch WWE. If I want to see cheesy drama, I'll watch a real one. I want wrestling, so I go watch ROH. I don't bitch about WWE - I just don't watch it. Because they offer something I don't want.
where this new attitude came from, cause you've never shown this side of you, its more honest and more passion, abit arrogant though and like you even said ELITIST!!!!
....did anyone else notice the missed oppertunity to have Mark Henry team with Visera?? Think bout it....sexual chocolate teaming with the Worlds largest Love Machine???
Excellent video! You have also made good points. I left a comment on Bill's video saying that we need more wrestling and less cheesiness. I didn't say storylines. I said cheesiness. We want wrestling and storylines that actually work. To me, wrestling and storylines are somewhat the yin and yang to pro wrestling. You need a good balance of the two.
Dont know if this comment will submit,or not,but Mr. Truth Slayer,i have to say, that this video is the ultimate, enough said, and thanks for pointing out back stage politics, and how long its been around,im not the smartest guy,but im no dumb ass, when it comes to real wrestling talk, excellent dude, and i cant see,how any one, can argue this video,i have said the same thing, based on politics, but some never will get it.
I mean, John Cena is extremely talented, but it just doesn't show. WWE really needs to put more effort into John Cena's character, so his talent can shine through.
WWE can make changes and still make the money that they do. Why should John Cena be confined to the down-scaled character, that he has now? Either way, John Cena will make money.
you are right on Cena, I never wonderd why there was such a big backlash vsd him the man is a money makeing monster and seems to be an all around good guy
Let's not also forget, that we live in times, where people want things to be good, VERY QUICKLY. People have ZERO patience when it comes to the products. The 'Entertainment Industry' have seriously spoiled us over the years, so that our demands have become, skyhigh.
Comparing WWE to UFC, is like comparing a cat to a mouse - What's the point?, really. Let's not forget the rich history and legacy of the WWE. As far as I'm concerned, the WWE has retired, and is now, living off it's name. If TNA wants some of the cake, they better get some air under their wings.
great video. i agree with nearly everything you said. i also hate it when people act like they know what they're talking about when in reality they don't have a clue. it's almost a good thing that they don't listen to all of the internet fans because if they did pro wrestling would probably be dead before we know it.
i think there could be a little...well a lot more TNA could do than just allow all signs because most of the time they will be in the impact zone and im sorry but people in the impact zone just seem kind of stupid to me.
That was a good video with good points, but t slay you are now resposnbile for the next internet craze that will be bigger than being rick rolled, thats Being Jellied little pig little pig let me in
another point about unpredictability, is that alot of the people who b1tch and complain about it not being unpredictable, are the same ones going to news sites reading spoilers.
Can I suggest a video idea for the future Truthslayer? Based on this video about how storylines matter, how about a video on your favourite storylines you've seen over the years and why they are so good? I reckon that would turn out as a great video in my minor opinion.
They did it at the show I went to as well to Russo. I am just saying if TNA is not going to listen to that what makes people think they are going to listen at all?
Think about what those fans are asking for though.
They are asking that Ms. Carter fire one of her top writers. If you were running a company, and a segment of customers asked you fire one of your senior advisors, do you just go ahead and do it? IMO firing Russo should not be the means by which TNA proves itself as fan friendly.
No but you could say..Hmm well maybe they don't like something we are doing and we should change that? That is the way I would look at it. I think Russo is good as some things he just needs someone to tell him NO or that something is a BAD idea.
If that senior adviser represented the bad of your company, and your customers were complaining about what bad that senior adviser was producing in your product, perhaps the best idea is to pull back that senior adviser. You don't always have to resort to the extreme ultimatum when a diplomatic approach would be to scale back his duties or place him under supervision to limit his output on the product. If the customer is still unsatisfied then you may think of that extreme ultimatum.
Pspower, you seem to fail alot. No offense. I mean, you recently spoke of WWE not having any alternates other than Cena. They made Batista, Bobby Lashley, Mr. Kennedy, Randy Orton. Just because the alternates are not the ones you wanted DOES NOT mean they do not exist.
You also talk about blind faith and people insulting you. Are you not the same way insulting WWE fans?
The point made was that if the fans are on a unison opinion, and are vocal with that opinion and TNA still doesn't listen, even on the general principle of that opinion, then what makes you think they'll listen to any other unison cries?
"Think about what those fans are asking for though."
"They are asking that Ms. Carter fire one of her top writers. If you were running a company, and a segment of customers asked you fire one of your senior advisors, do you just go ahead and do it? IMO firing Russo should not be the means by which TNA proves itself as fan friendly."
Oh the irony...So should Vince take your idiotic arguments against his top money maker into serious consideration?
Can they both effect how the product is percieved?...yes Sure "internal business operations" and the "presented product" have many differences, but their is ONE underlying fact to be had. Both your complaints against Cena and certain TNA fan's complaints against Russo have one thing in common...You are both asking for the company to cease operation of a person who they belive is making money for their company. DO you see the irony NOW???
No, they're both the same. Both deal with the product we end up purchasing and both represent the direction of that product. What separates the two is one creates and formulates the product and the other IS the product. There is no difference no matter how you try to paint it as being, otherwise.
I have to ask... If you were given a chance as creative in WWE or TNA, what would you do? Who would you push and what kind of angles would you do? What gimmicks would you come up with?
Its not as much who you push as much as how you push them and are you doing angles that make sence. Also doing one HIGH conscept storyline every once in a while.
Fair enough. Then how would you push the people you would push? What type of angles........ perhaps better said, would you like to see done and do if you had the ability?
It may well be better served to take this to the forum for more room to speak. Well, typing room anyway.
Great rant TSlay; don't ever apologise for telling the truth
You're exactly right on Cena, the guy has made a shitload of money for both himself and Vince. It might not be the IWC's money but it doesn't need to be.
TNA does overuse the swerve as well. It was AJ at Final Resolution, Tomko at Against All Odds, Booker T at Sacrifice, Sonjay at Slammiversary, Sting at Victory Road, So Cal Val at No Surrender, and in a month or two it'll be Christian Cage.
FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Totally agree Truthslayer.Half of the IWC who talks bullshit are mostly TNA biased fanboys in Bullshit Power and Bill and Doug who just talk bullshit all the time.

wait..... how could you compare UFC and WWE? UFC is real WWE is fake. I dont like mma at all and i will never watch it but please stop comparing real things to fake television shows. thats like comparing the hills with intervention. thats like comparing monster truck shows to nascar.
antivick 3 years ago

TheRealParagon 3 years ago
I agree.

WWE makes money either way.

bischoff took advantage of the fact that he peeved some people out there. let's face it, people are more inclined to pay attention if you got them offended. offensive ideas are the reason why the monday night wars have high ratings because whether it's good or bad publicity, it's still publicity

moralvirus 3 years ago 3
The WWE is about making money. So they push the people that make them money. Seems simple business enough to me that if John Cena makes you more money then MVP, you push Cena more. So, on the most basic of business principles, do what makes you the most money, WWE is succeeding. If you disagree, then you FAIL!!!!!!
ShadowRowin 3 years ago
I guess I fail then.
WWE has a history pushing the people they want to see pushed. Not being pushed, is not necessarily a matter of business principles. WWE has and always will play favoritism, just like anybody else.
JMWings 3 years ago
True but if you can make money usualy you are going to be pushed. I can only think of a few guys that where MONEY guys that the WWE never seemed to push hard.
TSlay1974 3 years ago
True, but the notion that a wrestler arrives in a company and gets pushed because he creates a profit is absolutely nonsense. Mark Calaway (The Undertaker) wasn't pushed when he came to WWF because he created a profit for them, he got pushed because WWF saw alot of potential in him and the character to create a profit. The point being, is that you have to push a wrestler to see if he's going make money for you or not - It's a matter of risk-taking.
JMWings 3 years ago
Carlos Colón, Jr. (Carlito) is probably one of the biggest failures of WWE in recent times. He was one of the most promising wrestlers in the company 4-5 years ago and he was really bringing in some high quantity of cash. Now look at him, he's just like a broken bottle of fine wine. WWE hasn't pushed him, nor has they used him right, all around a big failure.

another thing wrestling needs is for all the internet wrestling dirtsheets to go away. If they want to stick around and commentate on the shows and give ratings, fine. But the fact that htey keep spilling us the behind the scenes stuff is not going to help the business get better. It happens to much, fans will say "he only got it because i heard about this backstage" or something like that. Plus its hard for a show to surprise us when idiots spoil it(example: forget to put spoiler tags).
leftyoublueandblack 3 years ago
*continued again*
(spelling correction: yet, not yes on the first word of my previous comment)
Now I'm not saying that Cena needs to go away or be a jobber, and he certainly brings in money, but he clearly personifies WWE's lack of connection with the fans and habit of pushing people who they want to be over rather than people who naturally get over.
KagexMane 3 years ago
You seem to forget, in 2004 and 2005 Cena was getting some of hte best crowd reactions nightly. Right behind Undertaker and Eddie. Look at his match with JBL at Judgment day 2005. I hadnt heard a crowd so into a match since, i hate saying it, but the attitude era. Yes, the wwe might have pushed him a little to hard and to fast, but the fans did want to see him become a champion and a main eventer.
leftyoublueandblack 3 years ago
Yeah, but plenty of guys have been over at a time and not done well in the long run. Cena has been regularly pulling only one or two items on the WWE internet shop's best seller list, and that's unacceptable for someone in his position.
KagexMane 3 years ago
*continued*
Yes Jeff Hardy, who regularly has three-four and sometimes five (yes, FIVE) items on that list lost clean to him on Raw just months ago. It's proof that WWE pushes who they want over who draws. Guys like Cena draw because of the way he was pushed. I mean look at the guy, he got a monster push and was STILL boo'd, even by "marks." Imagine if they gave that push to someone who was well-liked by everyone. Their mentality is clearly skewed.
KagexMane 3 years ago 4
This was the same type of shit I had been preaching to this Kyler guy, but he thinks I'm a complete moron. Thanks TSlay for proving everything for me.

You expect TNA to react to the "Fire Russo" chants?
When I was talking to Dixie Carter a bunch of losers started yelling fire russo. You should have seen her reaction.
pspower 3 years ago
They did it at the show I went to as well to Russo. I am just saying if TNA is not going to listen to that what makes people think they are going to listen at all?
TSlay1974 3 years ago
This has been flagged as spam show
Think about what those fans are asking for though.
They are asking that Ms. Carter fire one of her top writers. If you were running a company, and a segment of customers asked you fire one of your senior advisors, do you just go ahead and do it? IMO firing Russo should not be the means by which TNA proves itself as fan friendly.
pspower 3 years ago
No but you could say..Hmm well maybe they don't like something we are doing and we should change that? That is the way I would look at it. I think Russo is good as some things he just needs someone to tell him NO or that something is a BAD idea.
TSlay1974 3 years ago
If that senior adviser represented the bad of your company, and your customers were complaining about what bad that senior adviser was producing in your product, perhaps the best idea is to pull back that senior adviser. You don't always have to resort to the extreme ultimatum when a diplomatic approach would be to scale back his duties or place him under supervision to limit his output on the product. If the customer is still unsatisfied then you may think of that extreme ultimatum.
moralvirus 3 years ago 8
Pspower, you seem to fail alot. No offense. I mean, you recently spoke of WWE not having any alternates other than Cena. They made Batista, Bobby Lashley, Mr. Kennedy, Randy Orton. Just because the alternates are not the ones you wanted DOES NOT mean they do not exist.
You also talk about blind faith and people insulting you. Are you not the same way insulting WWE fans?
ShadowRowin 3 years ago 8

Jasonkingkon 3 years ago
Did you even listen to the point made about that?
The point made was that if the fans are on a unison opinion, and are vocal with that opinion and TNA still doesn't listen, even on the general principle of that opinion, then what makes you think they'll listen to any other unison cries?
moralvirus 3 years ago 5
"Think about what those fans are asking for though."

Thats a different case completely. ugh
One has to do with internal business operations and the other presented product. ugh
pspower 3 years ago
Can they both effect how the product is percieved?...yes Sure "internal business operations" and the "presented product" have many differences, but their is ONE underlying fact to be had. Both your complaints against Cena and certain TNA fan's complaints against Russo have one thing in common...You are both asking for the company to cease operation of a person who they belive is making money for their company. DO you see the irony NOW???
mmawrestlefan 3 years ago 8
No, they're both the same. Both deal with the product we end up purchasing and both represent the direction of that product. What separates the two is one creates and formulates the product and the other IS the product. There is no difference no matter how you try to paint it as being, otherwise.
moralvirus 3 years ago 8
I have to ask... If you were given a chance as creative in WWE or TNA, what would you do? Who would you push and what kind of angles would you do? What gimmicks would you come up with?
