I travelled through Puerto Rico a few years ago and my guitar was stolen while in transit, probably by a ring at the airport in PR. American Airlines after two years finally paid me their maximum allowance which was $600. The gtr was a Martin Eric Clapton acoustic that I paid $3400 for the year before. They wouldn't let me take the guitar on board and check it in the over head. Don't ever let them do that to you.
This is just one more reason to avoid Quantas whenever possible. Air New Zealand has good Oz-US flights, and there are several affordable decent carriers (Emirates, Singapore, etc.) to Europe. Quantas service has become just as terrible as that of the US airlines.
Thanks YOU! I have added this priceless video at the beginning of my "Inside Musicians' Lives..." Playlist on my YouTube Channel & on my 2 Facebook Pages: Artist Page & Stop Traveling Musicians' Abuse Page!! This might appear funny to the "civilians", but it's a huge issue for all musicians who fly with their instruments, just ask them! Thanks for any and all Support on this topic, which I've been very passionate about for years...
@tfdrums This is AMAZING! You, Down Under, in Australia & me, on "The Other Side", in New York City, fighting on The SAME Side just to bring our "Axes On Board" (name of my poem).
Man, I'd rather be practicing, composing instead of begging some heartless morons at airports! Hope you figured out the links I mentioned in my previous Comment.
All musicians, at least, have to STAND TOGETHER on this cause! Nobody else is gonna do it for us! Thanks again for this video! Great Contribution!
