  • Hmm, I guess they couldn't say his father being a sociopathic killer may have contributed. A lot of this series is a reflection of Tony's upbringing and his relationship with his father.

  • and baJa fresh gets unlimited advertising.

  • you know you made a good show when people under the comment section actually agree with many of the ignorant and uneducated bullshit characters like Paulie says all the time :P.

  • Ya Hungry T? Ya Want i send the kid for Bajja Fresh? LMAO!!!!

  • Prince is playing in the background

  • Elephants are far from 500 pounds, maybe a baby one is slightly less.

  • dispence with the 500 pound elephant in the room: they are all contenders for that title

  • This is why this show was so good, a bunch of cold blooded mobsters still having worries like any other parent.

  • lol at the way Paulie says Baja Fresh

  • lol paulie...jumping off bridges...lol wow

  • LOL this show was pure gold.

  • i love how they all voice their appininyns

  • I love Silvios character. He is always so discreet

  • Paulie is the smartest thing in this video near the end!!!!

  • "'Eyyy, there you go. White balls..

  • i always think chemically but no one else ever fuckin understands

  • i didnt like aj but i thought he was a really important character just show what its like to be a white middle class boy in the west.

  • Lol @ Silvio's Joker suit.

  • @jmj540 Lol

  • ya want I send the kid for Baja Fresh

  • can you believe the mercury in the fish thing.. i meen that was funny.

  • who knew talking about suicide could be so funny.

  • I made love to a goat this morning

  • @FuckFaceUnited2000 And they wonder how AIDS came about....

  • @FuckFaceUnited2000 *nods*.

  • bajja fresh XD

  • Also, you misunderstand clinical depression. It's as much biological as environmental. One doesn't need a REASON to be depressed. See Joey Pants (Ralph Ciferatto) for a real-life example; he's doing pretty well in terms of life circumstances.

  • I just said that I understood that there is such a thing as being depressed all the time without actually having a reason. However, AGAIN, as a plot device in a movie or a TV show, it sucks. Generally speaking, I like my characters to change, grow or react to their environment and not because of some magical/biological deus ex machina plot device. AJ would be a more sympathetic character if we actually saw him break down because of some tangible reason. Instead, we get a cunt.

  • @maddingo12 Well, your problem is that Tony's clinically depressed (or we can assume so; he's never officially diagnosed but is on numerous medications. They address the genetic aspect of the issue in this episode. Also, his ex-fiance broke his heart about a month earlier, so there's an environmental cause.

Don't get me wrong, I hated the way the character was developed myself. I just don't think his situation can be characterized the way you're claiming, because we've got concrete reasons.

  • The AJ character was completely out of whack. He got more and more annoying in the later seasons. I understand that clinical depression exists.. but, as a plot device in a TV show, it fucking stinks. I like it when a character actually has a reason to be depressed..instead all we see is an upper class little cunt who lives in a 1,000,000$ house, driving a 80,000$ SUV and who complains about global warming. I hated this character and was totally wishing that Tony would beat the shit out of him.

  • @maddingo12 I agree that he was a weak spot for the reasons you mentioned, to be clear.

However, I think one of the things that worked about his character was that...throughout the course of the series...he represents a "what-if" for Tony. What if Tony had've beaten the shit out of him...would he have "grown up with some balls" (as Tony put it in, I think, "Cold Stones") and been capable of mafia activity? Or would he have been better for it? It's an interesting question.

  • I love seeing them all sympathetic. no matter how dangerous they are as gangsters...they are still fathers too :)

  • @shazzam29 Exactly! To me that is the shows greatest strength how they were able to show the horrible shit these characters do for a living but still make the audience sympathetic to them.

  • @catpowerd you know thats actually interesting, because i brought it up to my english teacher last year (who's italian...like many of the people in my school cuz I'm from Jersey lol :) and he was explaining how italian films/shows have this quality, i forgot the word in italian, but it gives a romantic/emotional setting, they actually lure the audience into being on their side. I always wondered why I cheer/side for the mobsters, who are criminals instead of the fbi/police & now I know why! :)

  • the best is pauly's line at the end lmfao

  • the best way to end a scene like that is with a shot of carmella's ass!!

  • Anger is depression towards OUTWARD DEPRESSION is anger towards INWARDS

  • "...500 pound elephant in the room."

  • Is it proven that mercury "fucks" with the minds of kids or is this Paulie's personal philosophy?

  • Ending = domino day

  • "with the mercury in the fish alone, it's a wonder there ain't more kids jumpin' off bridges"

  • lmao at paulie

  • Actually paulie has a point

  • Aj was a horrible little prick, as a character and a person. He was horribly miscast and should've been replaced after the first season imo. It would've added to the storyline if AJ went into the family business himself, instead of being the little spoilt bastard that we know and hate.

  • @MrDenizen fuck off...he did a good performance, you wanted to watch classic bullshit about the mafia, father, son, etc...boring .

  • @MrDenizen 1 AJ would never go into the business, cause Tony wouldn't let him in a million years

2 Tony is the reason he's fucking spoiled, if anyone's the problem it's Tony not AJ.

3 Miscast? The actor portrayed him completely fine.

Everything you said wouldn't make the slightest bit of sense. Not every character is supposed to be likable, they're supposed to be realistic. Well, actually pretty much none of the characters are supposed to be likable/ They're all fucked up scumbags.

  • @oloompop What about Meadow? From the clips I've seen, she seems to be rather likeable. Do you think Tony would ever let her into the business?

  • @MrDenizen the last season was quite sombre...but in a Good way. With Tony getting Shot, johnny sack's cancer...

the first episode, Tony's talking about being there at the end of an era. You see the next generation just doesn't have the same values as the elders and there's good and bad in that. I think AJ was a perfect character, not likeable but more realistic.

  • wow, does anyone notice how fast words spread on this show? one little thing happens and EVERYONE finds out instantly. so much gossip.

  • Paulie's such a a goofy character. haha. "its the toxin's their exposed to" wtf

  • haha baja fresh

  • PAULIE !!

  • Does anyone hear the Prince music in the background lol

  • @tennis12456 wat song ?

  • @Whyrweherereally Erotic City

  • @tennis12456 oh.. yeah

  • Now you everybody in that rom is really thinking that this guy has a nutcase for a kid. Plus it is only a matter of time before this guy walks and whacks everybody.

  • best paulie line ever

  • this is a great season

  • Love this show

  • Oh Paulie...Always the philosopher.

  • what episode is this?

  • Haha, Tony's face after Paulie weighs in.

  • paulie is so funny !

  • When Tony said he was going to dispence with the 500 pound elephant in the room, I though he was going to walk away.

  • @RhinierZ Oh no, if anyone is a five hundred pound elephant, it's Bobby Bacala. That guy is a fat fuck.

  • @RhinierZ LMAO

  • @RhinierZ I thought it was gonna be your mom that walked away. Oh wait, she's a 600 lb HOG and a whore cunt. I hope she gets raped by a pack of niggers and dies of AIDS. Die in a grease fire you cunt.

  • @bannedagainfromutube

    Why are you mad?

  • @WSWarthog STFU faggot.

  • @bannedagainfromutube

Tip: acting like a hard man on the internet (esp. on a Soprano's vid) doesn't make you a hard man.

  • tony shoulda had aj whacked a long time ago

  • @poops1 aj is his son........ i hope you die in real life you sick fuck

  • paulie's insight is as valuable as a hole in the head

  • silvio was a badass mo fo, and one of my fav characters, but he did have some fruity outfits

  • @ williamrafe1

lol an essential part of Silvio

  • haha, fuckin Paulie

  • 500lb elephant in the room-state the bleedin obvious...

  • ahahaha paulie

  • @thetruthisundeniable

the show often has characters making malpropisms, mixed metaphors etc. in this case, the idiom isn't too badly affected so you're probably right to an extent on both counts

  • how about obesity and smoking?

  • 1st cause of death in the US is believing politicians, 2nd - doctors, 3rd - suicide

  • Aj = Fail remember in season 6 when he tried to kill junior and dropped the knife .

  • It's a wonder there ain't more kids jumping off bridges!

  • No. I had no idea.

  • I like how different menbers of the crew call Tony by different titles. Ton, T, Skip, and Ralphie(not in this scene obviously) was the only one who called him Anthony.

  • AJ was the worst character on this show, such a crybaby

  • @tylerjamesr Janice is.

  • the soprano kids were so fucking annoying in every season.always bitching about something

  • They were a bunch of typical spoiled suburban brats always complaining about what they don't have.

  • @Lifeusedtobegood

ATHEIST KILLA ALL DAY I WILL STONE YOU TO DEATH IF I SEE YOU IN THE STREETS

  • she was a race mixing jew whore.

  • \m/

  • fo real tho.. fucking meadow was annoying is fuck in the 1st season, 2nd and 3rd.. always bitching

  • I think Paulie has to go down in history as the most hilariously tactless character in television history.

  • Lol yeah, great character.

  • yea i agree haha all these guys can be pretty tactless like silvo saying whatever it is its a chemical imbalance

  • @theporksicle yes.

  • "Whatever it is, I'm sure it's some kind of chemical imbalance." Silvio is fucking BRILLIANT!

  • AJ tried to kill himself in the ffuckin dumbest way...

  • Paulie's such an idiot

  • yeah he sure is an idiot but he's hilarious

  • Gotta love Pualie. Ever the soul of tact!

  • Oh man, took the words from my mouth.

    You I mean, not Paulie!

  • yah carlo so funny

  • cArlo the CoOn

  • Carlo: He gets the blues, I dont know

  • "I'll send the kid to BA-JA fresh" i luv that part

  • Paulie's last statement made me laugh really hard...

  • "They got him under observation, whatever the fuck that means." lol

  • Leave it all to Paulie!

  • You hungry T, I'll send the kid for Bah Jah Fresh

  • lol

  • i actually liked that they made AJ look like that cus his character really did express some of the many problems a child might have.

  • Bobby was solid. I was genuinely sorry when he got whacked. It's ironic that Patsy mentions his son, Patrick, since he ends up with Meadow at the end.

  • i loved the sopranos but i always disliked that they made AJ such a whinny bitch. i wish they would've made his character have a bigger set of stones.

  • I thought the same way but I realized that A.J was Tony's punishment for the shit he did to others

Remember that Meadow was a pain in the ass too

  • Actually it makes sense.. his kid really had nothing in his life to make him tough, he wasn't at all exposed to that "other" lifestyle. He was raised just like any other rich little punk

  • I think AJ represents the path Tony would have gone down had he not gotten involved in the Mafia. Tony has depressive issues, but I think he buries it with violence and rage towards others who wrong him. AJ turns his rage inward.

  • The whole AJ character was fucking annoying in the later seasons. His "clinical deppression" was totally out of nowhere and baseless. The little fuck lives in a 800,000$ home, has 5 cars and is deppressed? I know that "clinical deppression" exists in the real world, but as a character plot device in a TV drama, it doesn't work. This character was nothing but bratty, whiny, stupid and annoying in seasons 4 and 5.

  • @maddingo12

I wouldn't exactly put myself on the same level with AJ but my family do alright financially, and i've had a few problems mentally.

  • Did I just not say: "I know that "clinical deppression" exists in the real world, but as a character plot device in a TV drama, it doesn't work."

Its retarded that a character does a complete 360 degrees for no apparent reason.

  • @maddingo12

i agree, the actor playing aj is a douche in real life, so it made sense to make the character just be a loser who mopes around because that's probably no different than the faggot actor

  • @maddingo12 well yea agree but he didnt see his father that much and had to live in a family he probably didnt like

  • @Calikola He's a sosiopath with depression to boot.

  • @Calikola

I don´t think so.There is a big difference between how AJ has been educated and grown up and Tony has been educated and grown up.Tony is much harder than AJ.

Apropos. The violence against others doesn´t make him feel good.He often feels pettty about it.

The main difference is between Carmella as a mother which loved AJ and that Whore Livia Soprano who fucked up tonys live from the beginning...

  • @TheBozkurtS I see your point. I think because AJ was brought up in a family that loved him and coddled him, the Mafia was never an option. Tony was brought up in a truly messed up family and had a sociopath for a mother. The Mafia was the only option for him. I think they both have the same depressive issues because of the heredity.

  • @Calikola That's a good point man.. never thought of it like that. wow

  • @Calikola

with all due respect this is complete bullshit. You cannot compare Tony to AJ. AJ is inherently weak minded and emotional. He was over protected as a child by his mother and does not know how to deal with the real world and crisis. Tony was much stronger and more likely to lash out in anger when faced with obstacles. AJ on the other hand cowers and cries when faced with obstacles. I blame Carmella for the way AJ turned out.

  • @kilahchris a tad rude... but I think AJ & Tony have the same depressive issues- that was my point. Yes, I agree that Tony had an absolutely psychotic mother that provided him w/ no affection, which is why he is so angry, filled with rage, & went down the Mafia path. AJ is more emotional & self-loathing because he was coddled by Carmela. If you remember from a different episode, Dr. Melfi says, "Depression is rage turned inward." AJ and Tony express it differently due to their upbringings.

  • @kilahchris "It's always the mother's fault"..right? She was over protective due to the fact her husband was not shown a mother's love and she wanted to make sure AJ had it differently. AJ went into such a depression over the girlfriend not b/c he lost her, but b/c he was never denied anything.Once again he did not live up to what someone wanted him to be. Tony never allowed or accepted that his son was not what he thought he should be and AJ struggled with it.

  • @MsBooboorock

AJ does not know what it is to be strong, or self dependent. His mother babied him and codled him his entire life. I remember one episode after AJ was arguing with his mom he went outside to their backyard and he saw a black bear. He was so frightened he immediately screamed mommy mommy. AJ relied on his mommy for everything and grew up feminized and weak. A boy needs a positive male influence in life. One who can teach him strength and the importance of self reliance.

  • @kilahchris Tony eats, kills or projects onto animals when faced with obstacles. He's the child of a borderline mother and a sociopath father. He and AJ are one in the same, but Tony directs his anger outward (rage, violence) and AJ inwards (depression, suicide.)

  • @kilahchris I think you're on to something. I was one of these coddled children and I attempted suicide when I was 18 because I didn't have any sense of how to get my life together and its still a fucking mess but at least I cut her out of the picture.

  • @HillDueceua Yeah, children who have been over protected, spoon fed always have a harder time adjusting to the harsher realities of life. I can speak on it. I was a very sheltered child myself. It made me socially ackward especially around girls my age. Anxiety and social ackwardness followed me through my college years. It took alot of time and counseling to break out of it. I am 30 now, have a few friends and girlfriend but that shyness and introverted personality always comes up from time to

  • @Calikola tony wasn't a spoiled brat

  • My son too,Jason. He tried to kill himself? hahah paulie is the best!!! whatever it was it must have been a chemical inbalance!!! Silvio is fucking great! although he doesn`t know what a chemical inbalance means

  • Whats the number in the background?

  • PRINCE - I WANNA BE YOUR LOVER

  • @waveali ur a fucking idiot that isnt the song and its getting really fucking annoying that none of you really know which song it is

  • @micaelbizuneh You fucking retard since you wanted to use insults. What is the song then retard? I still say its the long versionn watch watch?v=8u2GtWsXac0 fast foward to 2:49 you fucking Youtube gangster.

  • i love the music in the background old Prince

  • "You hungry T, you want I send the kid for basha fresh?" Classic.

  • Paulie always has to put his two-cents in every time tony's upset.

  • "It's a wonder there ain't more kids jumpin' off bridges." LOL!

  • hahah Paulies insight is always hilarious!

  • as i always say,"fuckin paulie"

  • @rlope001 haha, i know, i thought the guys were doing a pretty good job of consoling Tony, that is until nutcase Paulie decided to chip in.
