  • Looks to be a TD02 or similar turbo. There aren't many turbos that small. Even if it is a TD02 (Which, I think is THE smallest turbo ever produced excluding any custom made ones) a 6hp engine is usually 150cc-200cc-ish and that turbo might still be a touch big, but it would work still, more turbo lag though. Very, very cool though! :D I am looking at buying a TD02 for my hay baler engine motorbike, its the perfect size, my engine is right near the top of its range.

  • @davison1021 because you only have 1 cylinder the best turbo would be from a VW jetta TDI, and would spin up better doto its small size (air volume). and put some kind of muffler between the engine and turbo to even out the pressure because the turbo will pulsate with the exhaust and not work at all. then put the carb on the front of the turbo so you dont bubble the carb. then watch the crank fly out like a ninja lol

  • hey chick moonerdizzle you try to build one and like the other guy said it's not done yet! I have a goped it'll hit about 40 and I just rebuilt it a new engine because my g2d hp burned out because it went 45 M.P.H. and that one's four stroke so it can't rev at 18,000 RPM's burn!

  • the best of luck with getting the carb setup with a turbo the lagg really screws with ur jetting because ull be way to rich till it starts pumpin and if you try and lean it out to make up for it ull have alotover heating issues

  • first off like mario said it would help alot by actually connecting the compressor side to get so called "boost" wasting horsepower spooling it up just to compress ambient air.would be surprised if that honda pushes enough cfm out the tail pipe to make cfm in the compress side.

  • that little motor does not make enough power to spool that turbo sorry. when he reved it up there wasn't any noise. that little thing turbo would be screaming if it made boost.

  • First off I like where your going with it but you have a few problems. I would get rid of that back tire and get something more round not flat. You wont b able to lean that well with that rear tire. I would also strengthen those welds you have. It looks like a pretty small turbo but I would throw in a cam on the motor if you can find one. The true Q is will it make boost. But so far it looks pretty good. I would not even start it without oil going to the turbo.

  • the only problem with home made gopeds is that they can have structural problems. like welds breaking, complicated setups, ect.... and their just not as reliable as authenic gopeds......in the long run.

  • i need sum help 1 of my dads gave me a goped its a moby bladez xs33 and it jus wont start i put gas in it and ive pulled that fuckin rope thing for wat felt like 199 hours, ive also took tha engine apart and i found that tha emergency brake cable is brocken...i dont think thats tha reason tho also tha guy hasnt used it in a while......idk so if any1 can give me a atleast a hint as to wat is rong wold be great

  • try unplugging the kill switch wires. thats what was wrong on mine once. or take out eout the spark plug and see if theres any spark. if not, the plug might be crap or you could need a new starting coil

  • its a 2 stroke you have to mix with 2 stroke oil

    also disconect the kill switch try starting then

  • I had the same problem. Check the fuel filter in the gas tank. They get gummed up very easily.

  • No. The turbo is powered from the exhaust you tard. And the boost leads to the waste gate witch is on the throttle body you dill

  • NO! you fucking retard!!! the turbo is not hooked up to the intake side of the motor !! if you watched the vid you would see !! The turbo spools up via exaust back pressure thus sucks (like you) cold air from air cleaner and builds pressure to the intake , the wast gate regulates the exaust back pressure to keep boost to a desired level ...and this one IS NOT HOOKED UP PROPERLY!!!!! FUCKTARD!!!!!!!

  • The waste gate is on top of the throttle body, Where the intake would lead to the carb where the boost from the turbo powerd from the exhaust goes through the waste gate through the intake. out the bov and exhaust

  • @evilcryalotmore you got your terminology ass backwards homeslice. a blow off valve is on the boost side (intake side) and releases pressure when you let off the gas and prevents compressor surge which will eat turbo bearings in a hurry. and a waste gate i explained in another comment, let me know if i need to use smaller words for you to clarify any other misconceptions you might have.

The waste gate is attached to the top of this turbo and the throttle body (carberator) is on the back right side of the engine....You need to do some research before you start spoutting off about shit you know nothing about...

  • @evilcryalotmore a waste gate is in the exhaust side of the turbo. it reduces pressure on the turbine which drops the boost being made on the intake side of the turbo. it keeps you from over boost wich can raise the head on the motor and blow out a head gasket or in extreme cases snap head bolts. over boosting can also lead to a lean fuel condition which will melt holes in pistons.

  • omg sam you're an idiot. its not 2 stroke. if fuel and oil ever mix in an engine like this it would be because some idiot like u put petrol in the oil dipstick. it's quite clearly a 4 stroke. in these engines the con-rod has an oil slinger on the big end bolts to flick oil up from the bottom of the crank case. fuel and oil are not pumped through the crankcase like a 2 stroke.

  • not only do you need an air filter like fitzaidan said, cause you'll shit the compressor blades, but your turbo is just spinning the hot wheel, and that isn't doing shit but dumping exhaust and blowing air up your ass while you ride on whatever horsepower the engine originally had, cause it didn't change. you might have even lost a tiny bit cause your exhaust has to work a turbo all by itself, no help from its little friend, intake...or vaccuum...other than that...looks pretty sweet hah

  • Also you will definately seize the bearings if you try that with the inlet connected as the impeller will push away from the boosted pressure and metal to metal contact equals a very dead bearing/bush in about 5 seconds. I know, I've had to rebuild 2. Nice try but please read a book on the subject and don't believe any bullshit from your "friends".

  • Of course a turbo has to be connected to the carb inlet! Otherwise how are you going to force air into the bloody engine? All you're doing is turning an impeller with the exhaust gasses, (and the turbo is too far away from the head=slow gas speed across the vanes)that's halfway there. A turbo increases power and torque by increasing the amount of air volume in the cylinder (to which an increased metered amount of fuel is added). You are actually sapping power by using some of it to turn it!
