BTW, not all CPU coolers that are 775 comatable fit on a BTX mobo. Actually, you HAVE to have a BTX cooler for that, unless you have a drill and some screws handy. Maybe you DO have to have a specific waterblock for BTX, just like with the cpu cooler...
Hey like the video, if i were you i would take a piece of tape or some thing and cover that gap between the 120mm to 80mm converter just not getting the most air flow through the rad. :)
Screw all the internal plumbing. I just put my tower in a small refrigerator and run at 45 degrees F. It was a far cheaper solution and there's even room for beer.
I don't understand why you need a "BTX" waterblock. The E6700 is socket 775 so as long as you have CPU waterblock that is 775 compatible it will fit your motherboard. BTX refers to the orientation of the components in side, so ATX/BTX is irrelevant to the water cooling products.
looks freakin awsome, good job. What really sucks is that a year ago that computer was great. But now you can get a gateway about 4 times better for 600 bucks. lol Which is what I got. Have you gotten an upgrade since?
its very nice but if ur running a 2.6 processer and a 7950 g force do u really need 2 raidators? its a very cool dsign but it u get a 700-800 liter per hour pump should do?
Have ever you tried running the water from the pump -> CPU -> radiator 1 -> GPU -> radiator 2 -> pump? Just curious what difference (good or bad) it would make.
i have an intel D955xcs motherboard. i am interested to put together a computer using this motherboard. Can you tell me the hardware that i would need to do that and where to find them? Thanks
oh yeah now i know what you meant. Yes it will fit fine, but the problem I was having is that the position the card was didn't leave me enough room to run the tubing.
no. BTX is a different format motherboard. everything is inverted. The mounting wholes for the cpu are different than ATX, they are spread farther appart.
Friend has the 7950gt as well card is beefy in games. Great job I think it is a first at least a first where it looks bad-ass. Great job like your style.
Thank for the complement. You have no idea the torture i went to water cooling this midget. :P I had many trips to the hardware store and local shop to find parts that would allow me to fit everything in. You page rocks too. you have lots of cool stuff!
Why? I think that video card still kicks ass. It gets the job done very well. 7950 is still a good card, besides I'm waiting till PCI Express 2.0 and the nVidia new line of video cards to come out. :)
No need. the 7950GT is still aswesome card and does the job well. I load all my games with no lags and glitches. everything cranked up to maximum. I'm gonna wait for the nVidia series 9 to come up before upgrading. :)
Back pressure because the tube was not tighly secured besides i used the wrong ziplock to tie the tube to the fitting. My mistake was i used a ziplock, like the ones you get from the local hardware store instead of using the appropriate ziplocks made for water cooling.
You have to make sure you seal everything, threads and all, but the system does not use just water. The liquid inside is a special coolant that is "non-conductive" so it's pretty safe, but still you wouldn't want any leaks ;)
How much did your computer cost? Just curious to compare the cost from them vs building your own. Where is the PSU? Must be in a different spot for a BTX case.
Nice system though. Congrats on getting the watercooling system in there.
Thanks mate! This system was a x-mas gift so it didn't cost me anything. What I did tho was upgrade some of the hard ware like CPU, RAM, VIDEO CARD, and put in a raptor HDD. The final cost of all the updates plus the watercooling was about $1000. The PSU is in the same spot as a regular ATX, top rear of the chassis. I uploaded some pics on photobucket, just check out my profile "prowler82" I have some albuns there.
Waste of life? Hey were probably going to get more in life than you if you play sports, literly no one really gets on the pro sports teams. And well be programing disks and games while you are wasing dishes or doing some low minimum wage job.
i have a antec p180b case, a asus m2n-e motherboard, a evga 8800gts 320mb, a amd 64 x2 4600+, 2 250gb wd hard drives in raid 0, 1 gb corsair xms ram, and i will soon be over clocking the cpu and watercooling it.
Well given that the case is super small, microBTX and that I didn't have space to do much with it I think it came out decent. I admit it is a bit messy, but mostly because the case is just too small for all the crap I put in there :P... but nonetheless this is the first microBTX/BTX case I have ever seen watercooled anywhere, and people have told me that to watercool this baby would be near impossible.
BTW, not all CPU coolers that are 775 comatable fit on a BTX mobo. Actually, you HAVE to have a BTX cooler for that, unless you have a drill and some screws handy. Maybe you DO have to have a specific waterblock for BTX, just like with the cpu cooler...

Careful with that man, the condensation can bugger your pc
BarrelRoll369 2 years ago
@Fretkillr I bet you did that... Refrigerators put off condensation = water. And water on computer components are a BIG no no. You'll fry everything.
Nice Trolling.

to get better temps.. go from pump > cpu> radiator in the front of the case> to the GPU > then to the back radiator> and back to the pump
popothecatathome 3 years ago
...? how the hell can you have it going from the cpu to the radiator and to the gpu if the radiator only has 2 water holes? More like:
Pump > CPU > GPU > Radiator > Hard Drive > Pump
Get your facts right, this is one of the most known water cooling setup..

It's not the block, but the brackets that hold the block. it is different from ATX.

It's all about the challenge to watercool this micro small case. but thanks for the input!
prowler82 4 years ago
That's nice man. Would you please tell me the measures of a btx mainboard? I believe they are smaller than atx and even micro atx (24x24mm).
I'm about to make a more like....portable computer but with certain power (not like miniitx) andd...well..btx and microatx seem to be the choice.
thanks in advance
keep posting:)

is that swifttech? or... what kind of cooling
curlzboi 4 years ago
It's a custom cooling system. All parts were bought independently and assembled by me. Here is a break down:
Danger Den = 2 80mm BlackIce dualpass radiators
Danger Den = VGA Koosha Waterblock
Koolance = CPU Waterblock with BTX Brackets
Swiftech = Low profile 12V pump
prowler82 4 years ago
Don't have a clue what all that means, but it looks cool. My rule of thumb: Water+Electronics= No No. :D
