  • from egpty ? viva espana ? lackey !!

  • who is this woman? she's amazing! I'm learning to dance flamenco and it's actually very hard, the stuff she's doing...

  • I love this dance. The sudden snap of the movement and the facial expression of the dancer makes me wanna learn to dance flamenco

  • Pretty!

  • i was them last summer!! they were really good!

  • Interesting Gypsy dance.

  • i saw the casa de memoria in sevilla and the dancer was much slender.

  • A lot more gypsy and a lot less throwing the dress around than I thought Flamenco dancing was.

  • Awesome vid for a project.

  • I dont know if this is the same place near the Rombus (market) in Barcelona?

  • Oh, I just love the Flamenco dancing sooo much! I'm sure it is MUCH harder than it looks! But it is just beautiful! I was in Spain many years ago and seeing some real pros dance the Flamenco was the highlight of my trip! I wish it was more widespread, across the globe! Come to Chicago, please dancers! We'd love to have you!

  • Beautiful!

  • O espaço tava pequeno pra ela dançar... : z

  • Ha! I just got back from Spain a couple days ago, and we went to that same place. Barcelona is a wonderful city, and Flamenco a beautiful dance.

  • This is AWESOME! I love the clapping especially.

  • u manacha die estareia kan mit fragt habt du esse

  • Being over fifty now, and having known this since so long ago. It is still as beautiful to me, as it was then.

  • I was here!!! well not in this video. Spring break 2011!!

  • Flamenco is so much what Andalucia is a a big mix of so many musics... Chtistian musics, Jewish Musics, Muslim musics and gipsy musics...as fars as those of all the cultures that settled in Baja Andalucia... since more than 2000 years ago...

  • FROM EGYPT WITH LOVA VIVA ESPANA VIVA BARCELONA

  • online asian wives #lushfmlk.info#

  • flamenco is so passionately beautiful

  • i love flameco dance of spain

  • um...all I see of the dance are spins...

  • @ScatteredBrains321 Your screen name suits you.

  • @TiminPhoenix so does yours. now be a phoenix, turn to ashes and shut up.

  • @ScatteredBrains321 Since the Phoenix rises out of the ashes, consider me flying above you, shitting on your little flamer (and most likely flaming) head. Of course, since you have shit for brains, it's somewhat redundant.

  • @TiminPhoenix aha thats cool. IVE got better things to do that to argue on this shit. All I said was shut up not give me an explanation. And if IMAGINING yourself flying above me makes you feel better, go ahead. So I guess that makes another one for having a shitty brain. so bye.

  • Visca Espanya!

  • my late wife, Carman Maria de la Luz Garica Garzon, was Catalan. She spoke Catalan, French and Spanish, (in 'Madrilleno' Style). She LOVED Flamenco. also Sevillanas. While over there or a number of years, she showed me he under belly of Spain. btw, good Spanish food beats out Italian any time. Unless one is eating food prepared in Tuscanny. Then both are equal. It is a song, food and dance thing, if you know what I mean.

  • So graceful and pretty! You can tell she's telling a story with the routine

  • @betta144 is not mexico stupid!

  • amo Espańa i todo que es ajunto

  • No, retarded redneck-wannabe, it means that people from the South, some of them Gypsies, have brought it with them to other areas, specially big cities like Barcelona or Madrid where many people move to, but it is not "typical" of those places

    I

    I

  • Oh really it seems the Gypsy/Moorish heritage of Spain reaches far beyond the deep south ,this means Cazamoor is very wrong LMAO!!

  • is the dress supposed to be this long?

  • That is the Tablao Cordobés, where you can find the best flamenco in Barcelona! Visit our channel, CordobesTablao. We are uploading videos! We are waiting for you :)

  • well, I could live without paella or sangria, but where would we be without pasta?

long live the italian civilization! lol

  • @utubevangelis :

The Arabs introduced pasta to Sicily...the Spanish introduced tomatoes...the first written recipe of tomatoes and pasta was in the year 1839. lol

  • it kinda resemble Kathak

  • @dondri07, Both Flamenco and Kathak share a historical link...Flamenco was heavily influences by the gypsies, and the gypsies originated in Northern India centuries ago...

  • i been there haha

  • OHHH I WAS THERE!!! lol i love it! omg these dancers were INTENSE!!! SOOOOOO Amazing SOOO BEAUTIFUL! I totally reccommend people go to their buffet and show in Spain. 100% Loved it!

  • I was there too--- It's called cordobes --I saw the same dancers it was great. It's on La Rambla-- Plaza Real.

  • ADORO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes this really reminds me of Germany. :S

  • she's gorgeous!

  • are there any belly dancing elements to the flamenco dance?

  • I don't think so. Flamenco is the performance style of the Gitanos, the Romani (formerly known as Gypsy) people of Spain. There are elements of traditional Romani style dance and music, which can appear similar to belly dance. The focus of Flamenco dancing is passionate, controlled movements expressed mostly in the arms and footwork. Belly dance focuses on expression and controlled movements of the core of the body.

  • @sailorknightwing I'm pretty sure the flamenco got it's origins not only from the Gypsy culture, but also from the Arabic, Andalusian and Sephardic ones too. In older belly dancing, you'll notice a man sitting somewhere beside the dancer, playing his instrument while she dances, that's a similarity to the flamenco. I think the costume they wear, however, may come fromt the Gypsies

  • @Al3SIA In Arabic (or "belly") dance, both men and women dance.

  • Flamenco is an arabic heritage after 800 years of occupation until 1492 when the last arabic city in Spain (Granada) falled.

  • @lhiboudesneiges 1492 be blessed for ever! I hate Arabs!

  • @lhiboudesneiges yeah sure, and 800 years ago flamenco was the same than now no¿,, so stupid man, flameenco is flamenco and arabic dance is another thing, may be was the same origine and may be have sinilar estetic but they are at 99 percent completly different , FLAMENCO IS NOT AN ARABIC HERITAGE

  • @mjay22 In addition to what others have said (I realize this was 9 months ago), American Tribal Style belly dance has incorporated/borrowed a lot of Flamenco elements, such as the posture, floreos, and the attitude of a powerful, proud dancer.

  • it looks like indian KATHAK dance. Watch it and then tell !!

  • A good example of authentic flamenco.

  • Unbelievably beautiful.

  • wonderful!!!!!!!!!!

  • Clothes little bit longer... :(

  • ძაან მაგარია :))

  • greez from germany, i'm learning flamenco this time, it's simply great...

  • Hello im from Iraq and i adore Germany

  • freaking awesome!!

  • viva españa y viva Sevilla y viva el Betis !!!!

    sangre españolaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • Everytime I see a flemenco dancer, I instantly want to marry her! I love Flemenco!

  • I think the same thing!!

  • me too!!!!!!!!

  • I'm just amazed every time somebody posts something nice to be enjoyed on YT it suddenly becomes a platform on who's culture is better and viva whoever, and x is wrong about y, etc etc... can't you enjoy what's been posted & appreciate it for what you see? Besides, all you need to start a culture is a strong voice & the right number of people to hear & follow/ factor in some years & generations & voila: culture! it's all very tenuous. What's real is the passion & the soul of a thing.

  • This is real live music. It's great 5*.

Keep all the dinosaur/ caveman racist-tribalism and let it become extinct, with you, when you shuffle off. This is Youtube ...proving that the world is shrinking fast.

  • ¡qué arte!

  • Wow, why has this video become the main subject for a war between latinos? It's just about how beautiful flamenco can be, it doesn't mean italians or mexicans are not great and interesting people. Each country as a lot to offer in it's own way.

  • you are right. people need to stop hating and just see beauty thats in the world.

  • muy biennnnnnnnnnn ;)

  • Very nice

  • Ma questo è il Cordobes! Anche io ci sono stata quest'estate con il mio ragazzo..ho cercato di fare un video ma non me l'hanno fatto fare!

  • OMG this is in Barcelona! oye! I went to this show in 2005...they are gypsies! ohhh makes me sooo proud to be spanish...que guapisima!

  • I just love that with a push of a few keys I can travel to Barcelona and see this most sensuous and passionate artform. Sooo Beautiful!!

    OLE!!!!

  • What is the issue with all of you. Just appreciate this amazing artform. Ironically, all the cultures mentioned are interelated. Naples Italy was once under the Kingdom of Spain. In Flamenco you can see the strong Moor/Arab influence. Mexico, once a colony of Spain. I'm of Italian origin, but Spain is the up and coming. Look at post modern archtecture, cuisine, culture and eonomic resurgence. I can still love it, appreciate it. Doesn't take anything away from me.

  • ok! guys come on every country has their specialties. The Spanish are best at flamenco, Argentinians at tango, Puerto Ricans for Salsa, Irish for stepdance(Riverdancing) I think you all get the point. Same goes for the food, every country has delicious food that are not found in other parts of the world but in that one country. So I don't think it is fair to just say ONE country is the best at everything. All countries are unique. As for me I enjoy learning culture from all parts of the world :)

  • I love watching a dancer with a bata.

  • haha! i wear batas

  • HER NAME IS PEPA MOLINA!!

  • SPANISH/MEXICAN CULTURE IS THE BEST!

  • Omg their totally different.

  • I am Texan-Andalucian. Being of Spanish culture but living in Texas I see Mexican and Texana. none are the same though they seem to flow through and about each other, each with its unikness. This lady is but a vessel of the Flamenco Ritmo she is not a lady but El Flamenco is using her to dance. This is when one knows what is truely and beautifully Flamenco. I love Mexican Culture and food. but I like it for is difference from Spanish Culture and food. un amigo

  • Don't be proud... What do you mean, though??? That Spanish are not as good as italians???

Do italians dance 'flamenco'? If they do I would accept if you upload a video so that we can compare, but Spanish don't boast about making good pizza and I don't think italians boast about dancing flamenco. They are just different, so what are you on about???

  • What is the point of my being mexican and saying good things about Spanish people??? It's just like you, you're not Italian and despite that you are boasting about them... That's not the point you want to make... Anyway.

  • I like Spanish people, I like Mexican people, I like Romanian people, I like all people mostly.

I am just saying Italian people are like everyone else...except they have a little something extra.

Stop trying to pick a fight with someone who isn't into fighting!

  • I am not, though... I am sorry you think that I am a bit pedantic and that I try to fight... it's just that your argument wasn't really appropriate and clear enough. Greetings from Mex.

  • Fuck off, leave the latinos alone. Don't belittle our culture with your stupid comments. It doesn't matter if your from Mexico, Spain, Argentina or anywhere - Hispanics are the best anywhere, and i say that as a Spanish citizen and as an australian. Italians stole their culture from everywhere. Latinos are about 10000000000 times hotter than Ities...go steal another world cup.

  • Very subjective post, and it certainly mixes past accomplishments with present day Italy, then presents it as one axiom.

Romans are the best and they have the fastest Ferraris!

  • i kno wat u mean by bein a snake.

    love the culture .

  • she is like a snake...

  • oh... she is amazing... I like very much this moment when she is dancing with no music...

  • Fuckin' beautiful.

  • I agree (I think), post political yours did make.

Spanish is kinda like Yoda talk.

  • I been to this place!!! call Cordobas em La Ramblas en Barcelona and i saw the same dancer with the same musician last year with my husband is one incredible experince!!

  • Does anyone know her name?

  • I went here during 2007 summer!

  • viva el flamenco, viva Sevilla ya que ese video fue en Barcelona.

Lo que importa es que Espana queda este riqueza cultural

soy Francesa de origen libanesa y vivi en Sevilla donde aprendi la sevillana

    Sevilla o Barcelona o Madrid : maravillas

  • american but living in japan for decade / studied Flamenco gitar since age 10 & Flamenco dance/song/gitar is found here in Japan also, in pure form (without any political or extended agenda haha) It is beautiful soulful music that continues on through the years.

    Wonderful video! Thankyou RustBlack! 5stars

p.s. many a flamenco gitar were handmade by a japanese man named Yairi . I have one that is DECADES old.

  • What a shame of uncultured tourism. Flamenco isn't a Catalan rithm. You haven't been in Spain but haven't realised about it. We just want to save our own language, culture and language from Spanish stereotype. Freedom for the Catalan Countries!

  • Woah, this is a dance video not a political platform. Please post relevant and helpful things here. The title is Flamenco Dancing in Barcelona Spain, not Viva Le Revolucion!

  • I have no complaints against this video, rustblack, but its title is an involuntary way to make political speech. Most of Catalan people don't feel Spain like their country. I just wanted to tell you this. Thank you for your understanding. Regards.

  • While doing some photography I met a very nice and educated Catalan person. It was very pleasant and I really enjoyed the company. Good luck with your goal.

  • what about "Rumba Catalana"?, yes catalunya has its proper culture, so does galicia and pais vasco, even Canarias, but Barcelona is a multicultural city, with alot of immigrants from andalucia that without them the city wouldnt function, music is not about identity or politics. I am galician/canaria and I dance flamenco in Barcelona too!

  • ole!

  • mm ye ive seen this VERY show in barcelona

  • It was a great show wasn't it? Soooo much energy.

  • The dancer's name is actually Pepa Molina and she was born in Australia to Spanish Parents. Check her website for more info. I did a workshop with her earlier this year.

  • Wow, great info. Thanks. Just added her name to the keywords, so I hope you're right!

  • seba - me too, thx for the info!

  • OK guys, here's one for the record. Carmen Amaya was born in Barcelona & is considered one of the best flamenco dancers ever. go to esflamenco

  • I'm glad you pointed this out. I understand a little about history in Spain, but not these nuances. However, the Flamenco dancing was very well done and I'm glad the dancers came from the South to perform.

  • It's nothing personal, it's only a sore-point about Spanish stereotypes tourists look for in Catalonia. We are like Scotland or Quebec in Spain.

  • When I go to Boston I will see a country-music show and a rodeo.

Flamenco is from Southern Spain, not from Barcelona, it's only for tourists unaware of this fact.

  • HA HA! Good point.

  • Have fun on your trip to Boston, because there are many venues there in which you can hear excellent live country/bluegrass music. Even the rodeo comes through occasionally. Jeez.

  • whatever! If I go to Kingston, Jamaica, and somebody is trying to perform flamenco, I'm going to that performance because I LOVE FLAMENCO. PERIOD. Flamenco is bigger than a region.
