  • :40 HE NEVER FELT THE LAPDANCE!

  • Fuck that was so tasty

  • surprisingly good note choice. usually this over processed, born of osiris/C.O.C. core stuff all has the same note choice, but this is actually unique and kick ass

  • everyone that is making the different genre joke, are just failing.

  • I usually do not like stuff quite this heavy but fuck i like this god-damn mother fuckin bonerastesticular owning slut raping song

  • KJTheSamurai that must have been brutal if you decided to go for this pace.

  • Soooo dopeee

  • @MartinNephilim Yeah, that really stinks... I really liked the vocals of the last album.

  • Sounds a lot more...chuggier than their last album. Lower tune and what not. But still very good!

  • @RagtimeDandy New vocalist, but not lower tune. They rule, yes but drummer and one of the guitarists left :/

  • Say hello to the new Meshuggah

  • i remember when i used to make different-genre jokes, then.......

  • if this band didnt get signed to blkheartgroup, do u think they could get signed to sumerian

  • @screamingismyair i'd rather them be on this label. sumerian changes bands for the worst, most of the time anyway. they make them change their style. sumerian was a good label until they started doing that shit.

  • @screamingismyair this band could get signed by any progressive label i bet

  • So much better than all the other "djent" stuff nowadays.

  • obvious troll is obvious

  • THIS IS NICE!!! I LOVE MODERN DAY METAL!!!

  • This is the best porn i have ever heard.

  • This is the best reggae music ever.

  • i never knew a crunk-core band could be this good!

  • best R&B group i've ever known.

  • Idk what you guys are talking about. This whole song is magnificent!

  • I must've drank too much coffee, cause this song almost gave me a fucking heart attack.

  • The begining was great the rest is boring. :/

  • ABRish breakdowns

  • @Gestaposaurus i sorta can see the ABR influence

  • Cant find any tabs for this...help please :)

  • Intense Chugging.

  • This band is fucking sickk!!!

  • Love this song. Goes right in my playlist with my starcraft II gaming music! thumbs up!

  • @Muffinmazters Fuck yeah SCII

  • @Muffinmazters Definitely man, I will probably get back into Starcraft 2 here soon.

  • I can't even read comments on videos of songs I like anymore because of stupid people.. thanks.

  • this is probably the best pop band i've ever heard

  • @jtmcneil90 true this is really poppy/rocky

  • the nigger 'fad' ended a decade ago, if you little fags think its still cool to speak like a degenerate POS, you are behind and you will be left there

  • @americanwithclass I don't know about you but the whole fag "fad" ended like idk, when they got mature or something.

  • Would be better with a bit more technicality, but this song is still pretty sick.

  • Any body else get to this video cause of structures...ha ha I don't know which band I like more now

  • Oh my Squidward Djenticles! Such a good band. Love that shit!

  • if you like this, check out my friends band ERRA from Birmingham Alabama

  • Excellent.

  • sick album cover. glad i stumbled on this band. saw it from some related post of henry selva haha

  • Dat breakdown. I literally punch someone each time it comes on O_O

  • @DoctorR3D stop saying dat you fuckin nigger.

  • @Level80irl So saying "dat" offended you so much to call me a nigger? Wow. The internet MUST be a joke then. Good luck in the long run chump. :D

  • @DoctorR3D cry moar to ur black mom Lawl

  • @Level80irl Says the one who's panties were tied in a knot from seeing someone say "dat". And by the way. Good job on being ignorant.

  • @Level80irl Dis is da shit..

  • @Level80irl dat du dat dat dat dat,

  • This EP is amazing. So much better than caves in my opinion. Caves sounded like they were basing themselves off other bands to write. But this is absolute genius I love it

  • OH MY GOSH THIS IS PERFECT THEYRE AMAZING

  • Boner-Core

  • @nicholasfike Heh...HARD-Core... get it? lolololol

  • @CrucialHD hahaha aw ya

  • @nicholasfike You know who else thinks this is Boner-Core...MY MOM!

  • Hey, this is amazing

  • As soon as I saw the thumbnail I knew this would be djent lol.

  • These "djent is a genre or not" debates are way beyond fucking annonying now.

  • Fucking music elitists

  • Fuck genres

  • djent's not a genre, please shut up.

  • @N1ckisonfire Actually its still widely argued about so i think the guys who use djent in all of their songs and base a lot of the songs around the djenting should have at least the priviledge to be called a movement.

  • I may not really listen to "djent" but to me the description of djent seems to describe a lot of metalcore and deathcore. From my very brief samplings of djent, it appears that if all hardcore/deathcore bands were to raise the bass and drums in their mixes than everyone would be djent.

  • @whyze250f The guitar tone is the main thing about djent really. The guitars are EQ'd and compressed in a way that gives them the certain tone. Also, they tend to abuse noisegates as well.

  • This genre flamewar is really amusing, indeed.

  • I just call it Hardcore. Pretty freaking simple.

  • Comment removed

  • I hope people know this is neither "djent" nor "deathcore". Djent is a picking technique invented by meshuggah. This is progressive metal. but i really think everyone needs to stop getting they're dicks in knot's about sub genres.

  • Fuck genres...everyone gets influenced by something...just take whatever YOU can from the music around u and be happy...!! Peace!

  • who gives a fuck about genres, just listen to the music, it could be called faggot face pimple pop for all i care as long as it sounds this good

  • @Steriobomber56 Its called Boner-core!

  • @Steriobomber56 I saw your comment and i was gonna say, "Oh wtf i saw this comment in another video this guy has no originality" But then i realized i came back for another listen.

  • @Steriobomber56 that was a damn good use of your words my friend, damn good.

  • @Steriobomber56. I just refer to everything in my playlist as "Metal", lol. From Progressive to Deathcore, I don't give a shit

  • @Steriobomber56 I now to start a faggot face pimple pop band. Thanks for the inspiration.

  • @Steriobomber56 Genre's help classify music. If I am in the mood for Melodic Death Metal, I don't want to listen to Metalcore at that moment.

  • @Steriobomber56 that would be awkward then if dubstep, rap, and metal were all the same genre

  • Your video is a favorite on Kenya

  • sedap gak lagu ni tapi kau nyanyi mcm august burns red la, ish2..

  • Metal-core

  • I don't think it's just the sound made when you djent your strings, it's also the way they manipulate the tone of their guitars-increasing the mids and all that shenanigans. Programmed drums and shit.

  • i love djent, because it isnt a specific genre. but this isnt djent at all

  • Clarify to all people - Djent means the guitar tone, not the genre. People don't call Dubstep 'Wub', nor is Metal called 'Chug' or 'Crunch'. Technical Metal/core is what mostly gets identified as Djent - so let's not identify a style in a silly way now, ey?

  • These guys remind me alot of After The Burial. I really need to get into Elitist more they are an amazing band, am I right?

  • @IRevenanTx The most of their influence is actually Veil Of Maya, if you haven't heard of them then believe me they are brilliant, in a similar vein to ATB. And yes, you're definitely right about that one

  • @steviewonder74CEA Hell yeah, I listen to their (id) album all the time. And now that you mention it, I hear alot of similar VoM parts in their songs. But they are a complete awesome sound of their own you know. :)

  • But this band is amazing!

  • Djent is more of a technique of the guitar.

  • So following this "Djent" logic, metal isn't a genre because it's actually a naturally occurring element, right?

  • You're all stupid for arguing about a fucking genre. Listen to the god damn music, appreciate it, and shut the fuck up.

  • anyone heard of there is just way to many sub genres whats next black christmas core like fuckin retarded

  • @jakeepfilm for real.

  • this is good but not as good as born of osiris...by the way i like it but born of osiris (after they wrote the new reign because that album sucked) are my favourite band at the minute.

  • buttpain comments are all booty discomfort

  • ppl ppl calm down these days djent is becoming a genre but its orignal begining was when meshugahs guitarist named the sould from his guitar when he palm muted chords. nows its blossomed into this amazing STYLE rather than genre. it doesnt matter what they are they are Elitist and elitist kick fuckin ass

  • 2:16 and on = hauntingly beautiful

  • You know what I'd like for Christmas...just ONE metal video on youtube, where kids discuss how much they like the song and band and not what "genre" is belongs in.

    .

    Love this song, 2:04 \m/

  • pretty good!

  • To all the people saying this is Deathcore: You clearly do not know much about music. Anyone here ever heard of DJENT? Yeah...

  • @MErickson11 Djent isnt a genre, just soo you know

  • @backburner123 Periphery begs to differ.

  • @backburner123 There is no official list of subcategories in Metal. They are used to describe the sound of the music. Djent describes the sound of the music. Therefore, it is a genre.

    Just so you know.

  • @jezzon2376 accually its not, djent is a technique commonly used at certain points in songs, i agree that some bands could be "labeled" as a djent band but in the end it is a technique used by many bands including non-djent bands.

  • @backburner123 Djent is a heavy metal music subgenre that emerged as a spin-off from progressive metal. Coined by the band Meshuggah, it was popularized through the internet by Periphery, specifically guitarist Misha Mansoor. The word "djent" is an onomatopoeia for a heavily palm-muted, distorted guitar chord. Typically, the word is used to refer to music that makes use of this sound, to the sound itself, or to the scene that revolves around it.

  • @backburner123 bands such as Periphery,Vildhjarta,Born Of Osiris, Veil Of Maya, etc they all are djent people have made this a genre every genre was this an idea and it became big :D

  • @backburner123 Ever since Misha started laying down the law, people finally got the memo!

  • @backburner123 Djent is basically progressive groovemetal though

  • @TsarDragon youre such an asshole lmfao just shut up djent is the sound a guitar string makes when you fuckin play it douche thats not a music genre. and you made up the word groovemetal too, that has never been a genre

  • @ElastiCSacK42 Are you fucking stupid? You called me an asshole just for stating something completely non-offensive. Just so you know, groove metal is a genre. Learn your fucking shit, groove metal has been around since Pantera and Sepultura. You don't know what the fuck your talking about. gtfo kid

  • @ElastiCSacK42 Also, I never said djent is a genre. Learn to read. It's just mostly used in progressive metal and groove style. Go change your pad

  • @backburner123

Personally I think of a Genre as a nice way to place a similar distinguishing style\sound into a category that's easier for people to recognize. As James Monteith once addressed this "I fully embrace it and it feels good to be part of a community of like-minded bands and musicians."

Every genre wasn't a genre as some stage, so stop trying to be all elitist (pun intended) and just embrace an easier way to describe a similar style. :)

  • @MErickson11 Anyone ever hear of different styles of djent? You know, different applications in different genres?

  • @TheCommonDeceit Djent itself is a sub genre now. ONCE, it was just a sound. Then bands started focusing on that, mixing it with math metal type riffs and much more.

  • @MErickson11 My point. Thank you.

  • To the person arguing that this is Djent and not Deathcore, have you heard of MUSIC? Yeah...

  • @connoregan1469 I have without a doubt heard of music. Clearly you do not know what DJENT means. The name itself is an onomatopoeia. Djent is a sound that the guitar makes when you palm mute a four note powerchord. If you listen to this, you'll hear an awful lot of Djent. Just because a band has a vocalist that screams, doesn't mean they're Deathcore. Please have knowledge about a genre before you make assumptions.

  • @MErickson11 Djent is also associated with extended range guitars and polyrhythms/polymeters

  • @LanceSaunders Well, that's obvious. Although extended range guitars aren't always used for Djent. Periphery has a few songs in drop C.

  • @MErickson11 Yeah its djent isint a genre.

  • @MErickson11 'Djent' isn't a genre you asshole. You and the sixteen people that liked your comment clearly do noT know shit about music. More specifically METAL.

  • @sean34nite

1: How am I an asshole?

2: I'm a musician, and am going to college for MUSIC PRODUCTION.

3: I've been listening to metal for years, and enjoy almost all genres of it.

4: Djent was ORIGINALLY JUST A SOUND. Then bands started basing music around that specific sound all together. Hence the sudden outbreak of bands like Periphery, After The Burial, Volumes, and Elitist.

5: Go fuck yourself, you rude and ignorant prick.

  • @MErickson11 Dickhead, you can base music on a 'specific sound' as much as you like, that still doesn't define the musical fabric and source you cunt. If any person is defining a genre of music, surely it's the stylistic criteria that's used to explain. The term Djent is a projected sound, not a method. I see your studies in MUSIC PRODUCTION is amounting to squat! Even Misha says he finds the 'Djent' genre definition ridiculous. Metal is a niche STYLE, not sound ya dumb bastard.

  • @sean34nite chill out bro that's unhealthy

  • @MErickson11 lol its actually prog metal

  • @axesunderground Prog Metal is a very bland term. And there are still sub genres of it. Math Metal is known as a genre, but Math Metal bands are also considered to be Prog. See where I'm going with that?

  • @MErickson11 djent is a guitar tone. not a genre. this band uses djent, but they are deathcore or metalcore

  • @MoosieCoverz It is without a doubt a guitar tone, but the seemingly endless amounts of bands calling themselves Djent kind of hints at that being a genre now as well. And for the record, these guys are nothing like Metalcore. Compare this band to Killswitch Engage, As I Lay Dying, or All That Remains. Not a lot of similarities.

  • @MErickson11 djent isn't a genre bro, this is deathcore, deathcore isn't an insult, it's a genre

  • @MErickson11 It's called Progressive

  • @Splintervention You clearly haven't read any of the other comments I've been responding to. Bands can be more than one genre. For example, Tool is Progressive, but also Rock. Understand that? Good, lets move on. Periphery is also Progressive. Yet they call themselves Djent. After The Burial is Progressive, and they ALSO call themselves Djent.

  • @MErickson11 Hell no I haven't read your other comments. I'm so busy correcting people.

When did I say bands COULDN'T be more than 1 genre?

Now if you don't mind, I'm gonna stop being a YouTube "badass" since arguing on here is pointless anyways.

Djent is becoming a genre by the way. But right now what is it? The correct way? Progressive Metal? Yeah.....

Also, when did this band ever call THEMSELVES Djent? (By the way, I was arguing what it is, not what they call themselves).

  • @Splintervention Don't argue if you haven't read the rest of my comments. I won't restate what I've said to everyone else just for you. Everything you just said, was addressed in past comments. Jumping into a debate without knowing what's been going on is like jumping into a gun fight with your bare hands.

  • @MErickson11 there is no deathcore, there is to soft core, there is no hardcore, kid its just all metal i dont get were all these stupid as genres came from learn your shit kid

  • @ghettoblader12 You don't get "were all these stupid as genres came from"? Genres and sub genres distinguish the differences between smooth jazz and deathcore.

P.S. For our Nation's sake, learn to spell and speak proper English. You're making us all look bad with your incoherent behavior.

  • @ghettoblader12 100%

  • @MErickson11 your fucking dumb

  • @cheese0tron YOU'RE incoherent.

  • How do ppl listen to noise like this? ... Awful hurts ears n can't even understand what he fuckin says

  • @AnW204 You get used to it. Just like I actually can't understand most rappers. I listen to Rock and Metal, and hell even a few songs from other genres here and there. So I'm very open to a lot of music. You grow used to this and eventually you have no problem understanding screams like this.

  • @AnW204 because this actually takes talent to play.......

  • @AnW204 If you knew anything about music, you would know how incredible this really is. I know you can't understand what he's saying, but you're on a lyric video, so read up. Calling it noise is really ignorant with all the rap music that is in the world nowadays. I mean... have you heard Lil' B?

  • Cock

  • 2:04 - Elitist standard.

  • dude there awesome!!!

  • I try to write songs like these and fail miserably

  • Holy fuck. I've found a new favorite band. <3

  • @Chrisplant

Cool story bro. Do yu need a cookie now?

  • you guys are silly, pretend genres dont exist and just listen to it instead of trying to be a genre.....elitist

  • @Flyancor12

Dnt start a fight, kid. N yea theres no cleans is there? No. And yu kno both yu and i like the band so lets not start. Shall we? =3

  • @LilliaClemens60433

Not to feed the debate, but this really isn't deathcore. It's metalcore at its best. And please buy a dictionary.

  • @chrisplant sounds like dcore to me.

  • @luke666808g

in order to be deathcore it has to have some sort of death metal element to it. this has no death metal, just a heavy chunky intro. if anything i would call this djent, but otherwise just metalcore.

  • @chrisplant Exactly man, I never consider any band with this type of sound a death metal band in any way.
