here's another thing i don't understand. why did worthington labs pick alcatraz as their main lab? don't you think they should have picked something a bit more secretive to develop the cure insted of a national landmark? just in case, oh i don't know, an army of angry mutants start ripping the shit out of the place?
I don't know why some people gave this bad reviews, though I do think X2 was much better. This one was fine, but the only thing I thought should've changed was when Rogue took the cure, I wish she didn't, because the philosophy of the X-men is to be proud of your mutation. I also love the scene with Angel refusing to take the cure.
@aliasgirl47 I don't know why some people constantly say they don't understand the hate the film gets, when I give them seven minutes of reasons on why this film is so bad.
That part where you remark on Cyclops kissing Jean after she removes his power, "Hey you took away my uncontrollable power, so let's kiss" is hilarious. Cracks me up every time, and I agree completely. But I'm also confused. When I saw that scene I thought she just used her power to suppress his optic beams, keeping them in his eyes. I didn't think she actually took his power away. She did say "Trust me, I can control it now", so that just kinda confused me.
in my opion it seemed like x-3 tried to pretend the other two films never existed cause almost all of bthe charaters were so out of charater specialy logan and xavier magneto. correct me if iam wrong but the x-men live in ny not fucking sanfransisco how the fuck did they fuck that up. x-3 to me was not as good as the ones by bryan singer.
I think what bothers me most is how "the cure" is handled and real live people's reaction to it.
Guess what? Rogue taking the cure makes total sense and is brave. She cannot control her powers, and can literally kill anyone she accidentally bumps into in under a minute. Even if she doesn't kill you, she gets random access to your memories. So death or mind rape? Even the other characters with hard to control powers aren't that dangerous to themselves or others. She was being responsible.
A great review of X-Men 3 here - it has its moments but it is a major letdown after the previous movies and does a lot of damage to character at the behest of giving so many screen time. The only thing I'd mention is the continued problems with Colossus, who not only is AMERICAN instead of Russian but has no real interaction with Kitty Pryde, who's you know... his LOVER in the comics? Outside this is the most fair and indepth review on X Men 3, well done!
also, i thought kelsey grammer as beast was great casting. he was actually one of the few people who i thought was perfect for their role (i was just worried that he might look goofy with all the fur) as soon as i heard it announced, along with stewart as xavier. i also liked ian mckellen as mags. he didn't seem like the best choice physically, but i like how he portrayed the character, especially in x-2.
it wasn't a bad movie so much as a letdown. it could've been so much BETTER. i feel like they tried to stuff too much into one movie, leaving no room for character development. they should've just focused on the phoenix storyline, kept it mainly about scott and jean like it's supposed to be, and kept the cure thing for another movie. re: rogue, there was a deleted scene at the end where she kept her powers instead of giving them up. not sure WHY they didn't use it.
I love X-Men. I didn't think the third movie was not that bad. It had potential, but it failed. If they do another X-Men movie, besides First Class, they need to re-cast.
I would have given it a higher rating, but nice review. Good Luck.
Great review man! I didn't hate the movie, I actually enjoyed it a bit but, I can see why you hate it, since they killed off Cyclops. But with X-Men, I watched the movies before I read the comic books so I never really was a big fan of Cyclops, and Wolverine my favourite. So you are right when you say that they didnt make Cyclops the leader he should've been.
"the guy who created this school and the guy who would have taken his place has just been killed" i laughed to that lol, great review man! can't wait for more!
Shades, I love you :) Do you have telepathic powers!?? xD Because you just rip off my thoughs in this review! Seriously i have nothing to say 'because you already said everything what's need to be said (even the little details). Great review Shades, really great!
Oh! and my favorite quote: "As an X-Men fan, I felt someone rip away my childhood" I felt that way too with THE ENTIRE MOVIE!!!! (I still feel that way) :(
What I found amazing in "the Phoenix tries to destroy Wolverine" scene is that almost everying including skin and bones have been disintegrated but he still manages to keep his pants modestly intact.
Not bad, 46 seconds in before you mention Cykes, lol. That just about says it all for X3 but 1/5 is a bit harsh. I'd give it 2/5 special effects and it has great stuff for editing with. Still sucks though.
Brett Ratner isn´t a master filmmaker like Bryan Singer but I also loved this movie. It was fast, great visual effects and had an emotional story. Sure it´s no masterpece and ha some logical mistakes but I was really entertained by it and it is one of these movies you can watch over and over again. And that´s something, isn´t it?

As a faneditor, I just glad X3 brought us new characters to throw into the mix.
Great video review. Very astute anomalies and humorous 'why is...' bits at the end too.
But you missed one. The one I thought everyone noticed: When Phoenix is blasting away Logan's skin, his shirt is obliterated, but not his pants!
Good old Hollywood - show flesh torn off, but go easy on the nudity!
