Leaving a product with sodium hydroxide on the hair for 5 minutes is like getting a light perm. Sodium hydroxide is lye, the active ingredient in a perm. So will this "relax" you curl? Yes, in the same way a perm does. If you are committed to natural hair steer clear of Pantene. These product are not by us or for us, just a cheap ploy to make money off the billion dollar black hair care industry. Don't get me started on the "ethnic" colored bottles.

Why are there only 2 black people and 1 asian person on Pantene's website? Why is there Sodium Hydroxide (The main chemical in a relaxer.) in the curly hair products (The Deep treatment in the jar, AND the Relaxed and Natural conditioner.)? I went to Pantene's facebook, and I couldn't "like" this product. I'm glad some do, but just not me.

I love how pantene has tried to embrace the different hair types, but I found that it was much too drying and not conditioning enough for my 3c hair. Maybe I'll go back sometime :)

My hair is not as fine as Torie's and I wouldn't consider her hair Kinky. She is definitely a type 3 curl and not a type 4. My hair is a very kinky 4b and I don't think smoothing mouse through it would work, but I'd love to try and see what results I do get.
I may need to try the Pantene Curly Dry & Moisturized Demoisturizing treatment.

How about using this on some type 4 hair and see how it does! Her hair is not KINKY! I have 4a/4b hair and I doubt if this would work.

I love Pantene. I use the shampoo and conditioner for natual and relaxed hair. Works for me. I can't say I've tried any of the other formulas.
