  • In a way this song was revolutionary and groundbreaking, since before 1959 an organ in a rock and roll song was almost unheard of, then after this comes out we see the more famous Happy Organ which really kicked off the "organ in rock music" craze.

  • Just listen to the professionalism of this band, - they used one track only, remember.

  • The proper saying would be "it's a braw, bricht, moolicht nicht, the nicht" (the nicht = tonight) . . . but as a Scot . . . living in Scotland i suppose i should admit . . . i've never heard anyone Scottish actually utter these words in an actual conversation . . . ever.

  • The Jocks, as I remember, used to hate this tune, It used to drive um mad.

  • Braw-Beautiful, nice,pleasant

    Bricht-Bright

  • A great, instrumental Rock'n'Roll classic, how he in the book stands and still today is to be heard over and over again fantastically. It was played in the 70th often in German radio stations - can remind me still well to be woken up often at that time at school hours with this song. Many thanks for uploadin' - 5 stars from Germany!

  • "It's a braw, bricht, moonlit nicht."

  • @RAGGMUNKoFLASK What does that mean again? Please remind me. Me mum did tell me what it meant, but I've forgotten. I think she said it means "It's a cold, bright moonlit night". :/

  • @CockneyRebel1979 Sorry can´t help you there!!

  • Its a braw bricht moonlicht nicht (the nicht, ye ken),

Its a nice bright moonlight night (tonight, don't you know)

  • @RAGGMUNKoFLASK it's a great bright moonlit night :p

  • @CockneyRebel1979

it means ...its a nice bright moonlight night

  • @rebeliain62 Much obliged! I knew it was summin' along them lines! Peace and love! Be lucky! :)

  • @CockneyRebel1979 Braw means good.

  • @AeonsDead Braw means cold. It's a cold, bright, moonlit night.

  • @frankassert Who the hell are you? I am from lowland Scotland, i speak that damn language/dialect. Braw means good, trust me.

  • @AeonsDead

An it means good in the Doric an all

    Foo ye deein .?

    . frae up North

  • @AeonsDead No-one. Just a Sassanach that grew up in the Heart of Middle-England surrounded by (mostly) Lowland Scots brought down here to work in the mines. Sorry I forgot to refer to me Oor Wullie annuals for reference, but now I think about how many times he says it, especialy as an exclamation, you are correct, thank you.

  • @CockneyRebel1979 It means "it's good, bright moonlit night" braw is good or good looking

  • @CockneyRebel1979 It means it's a pleasant bright moonlit night...braw basically means nice.

  • @CockneyRebel1979 it means its a broad bright moonlit night :)

  • @CockneyRebel1979 It means, "It's a beautiful, bright, moonlit night.

  • @CockneyRebel1979

    Braw = good, nice, great . . . etc

  • @CockneyRebel1979

Braw does not = cold. It just means something along the lines of 'very'.

So...Hoots mon, it's a very bright moonlit night.

  • @CockneyRebel1979 You re indeed correct

  • @CockneyRebel1979 It's a good ['wonderful' is probably a better nonliteral translation] bright moonlit night.

That was 10 months ago mind you. You probably figured that out by now ;)

  • @CockneyRebel1979 It's a beautiful, bright moonlit night..

  • @CockneyRebel1979 She's spot on... Braw means chilly (Imagine going out early one morning and it's the first real frost of the year? that's 'braw'), and if you take 'icht' and convert to 'ight' you'll get the meaning...

  • @brianjshipley

actually braw means beautiful in scottish slang / or in the old way of speaking , i am scottish ,if you say anythings braw it means beautiful / or goodlooking / or nice - depending on the circumstances, i use the word alot / in eveyday language :)

  • @SIXTIESMUSICGUY My relatives used to call me hen as in "ya'all reet, hen?".. Fab!
